5 Spacious and Versatile, even has a Bacon button
Posted by Brandy Cox on Oct 29th 2024
Air fryers have basically become the big thing in kitchen gadgets right up there with the humble microwave. And like the microwave when it originally came out people are looking for any and every excuse to use them for this or that. And I get it, cooking a personal pizza in 8 minutes with the press of a single button, and making a bunch of crispy chicken wings is as simple as loading the trays and setting your heat and timer. This particular air fryer ditches the typical fryer baskets for, as it's name suggests, a small oven form factor. That does mean this takes up a bit more space than other options, about the same size an old 13" TV, you know, the ones you would usually have in an RV with a VHS player built in? Am I dating myself with that? Suffice it to say, as a kitchen appliance it's sizeable, but this is the ultimate countertop oven, fryer, rotisserie, thingy. The form here of a more traditional mini oven I think is a huge strong point for this fryer, while you can't just pour a bag of fries into a basket hit a button and shake the basket a few times during the cooking time, instead here we have two vented trays, and a round pizza pan as well as a 3rd tray for use as a drip pan at the bottom. The trays have 3 slots that you can choose to slot them, as the heat source is at the top, if you want a crispier outcome put things at the top. or for a less crispy outcome put the tray in a lower position. I made a couple trays of chicken wings, and only the top tray got super crispy, but easily solved by just putting the second tray back in for a few more minutes to crisp up on the top shelf solved that quickly, The 12.6 qt volume is a little overstated I think in general use if you are going to just use it to cook a pizza or some wings, where that volume becomes more useable is when you are taking advantage of its final trick, the rotisserie. With everything else in the box you also get a bar and prongs to impale a small turkey or chicken, and a cook it up rotisserie style. I myself don't have any plans to set a small bird up to spin on your average day, but Thanksgiving is coming up soon. Beyond just being an air fryer with a fancy rotisserie, they've set this up with a fist full of preset modes to use so just about anyone can get cooking. Bake, broil, reheat, a mode just for keeping things warm, which is great if your cooking a larger meal and need some things just to stay warm while something else is still finishing, or if someone is running late to dinner. I laughed when I first turned it on and saw it light up, but there is even a dedicated button for bacon. Last but not least, it has settings for dehydrating, and I was super excited when I first saw that, Because I love dehydrated fruits and jerky. I cannot recommend this enough if you have the space for it. Because of it being more like a little oven than a typical basket fryer it's so much more flexible, the trays are so easy to clean compared to typical fryer baskets, the preset modes are great. my only concern is because of the size you may be tempted to load it up, and for some things, like steaks or burgers, the drip tray may be a bit shallow depending on how lean of meat you use, so it may be wise to get a deeper pan to put at the bottom when cooking some foods. It's really as easy to use as a microwave.

4 Terrific Air Fryer!
Posted by Heidi Baker on Oct 16th 2024
The Bella Pro 12.6-qt. Touchscreen Air Fryer Pizza Oven with Rotisserie is a fantastic product that makes it quicker and easier to prepare a variety of meals for your family to enjoy. We primarily use it for chicken tenders and fries (which seems to be the only thing my 9-year-old will eat!). I was especially excited for the rotisserie feature to make chicken, and it has lived up to my expectations! This air fryer works well for a range of foods we eat regularly. The trays are nice, but they could be improved as food tends to slide easily on the surface. I was disappointed that it didn’t come with a basket for smaller items like fries or vegetables, as the trays make it easy to accidentally spill food on the kitchen floor. Cooking times vary, but this air fryer cooks much faster than our previous one. One of my biggest complaints about air fryers in general is the cleaning process, but you’ll be pleased to know that this one is very easy to clean. The bottom tray addition helps immensely. If you're looking for quick and easy meal prep, especially if you have a busy week, this is an excellent choice!

3 Smaller than expected. 10 in pizza or smaller.

The new Bella Pro air fryer has been a nice little addition to my kitchen appliances. It really is capable of doing it all, from air frying and baking, to rotisserie and even dehydrating. I’m impressed by the versatility of the unit and it doesn’t take up too much space on my counter top, but that countertop saving design also limits the size of the food you can cook inside it. It’s aesthetically designed and doesn’t get too hot when in use. I like the full size window to see what’s cooking inside and I also appreciate that it has an interior light that can be turned off and on. The Bella Pro came nicely packaged in cardboard and foam with some tape to remove around the door and some stickers over the touchscreen display panel and the window on the door. The accessories, pans and racks were wrapped in foam and everything arrived in great condition. One thing to note is that the sticker over the touchscreen panel left a lot of residue all over the display and it took me about 10 minutes of light scrubbing with cleanser to remove it. The sticker on the window was made from a different material and came off easily without any residue left behind. I wish they would have used that same sticker material for the touchscreen, or put no sticker there at all. After washing the pans and racks I put the drip pan into the base of the unit and used one of the crisping racks to air fry some breaded clam strips. The cooking time was half what it normally is when I bake them, and they came out looking and tasting much better than ever before. I don’t like that the rack allows small crumbs and grease to fall through as it cooks, but that’s what the drip pan is for, and it does a good job catching all of that. You will want to be sure to remove and clean the drip pan after every use. The second thing I cooked was some chocolate chip cookies. I used the bake function for these and they came out perfectly. The pan in this unit is not very large, and so I wasn’t able to bake very many in each batch, but if you are only making a few for yourself or perhaps 2 people, it should be just fine. Finally, I tried the dehydrate feature, using some banana slices and the crisping racks. I thought they would make great treats for the dogs, and I was right. The Bella Pro dehydrated them nicely and only took about 8 hours to get them done. Since dehydrating does take a long time, I suggest getting it started in the morning so that the unit is not running while you're asleep. You want to be awake while it’s in use. I wanted to try cooking a pizza, but the only pizzas I had were frozen pizzas which were normal size. The unit can only cook small pizzas, which actually surprised me when I was unboxing and saw how small the pizza pan was. Honestly, this is a pretty big disappointment for me, as I never cook small/mini pizzas, I always cook full size pizzas and I’ll never be able to do that with this Bella Pro. I would rather they made the unit big enough to cook a full size pizza and sacrificed the height, but then it wouldn't be able to rotisserie a chicken. I’m not a fan of the touchscreen control panel and how it works. To turn it on you press the power button, which is illuminated with red light. Then, once you start selecting the temperature, cooking time or function, it starts, by itself, within a few seconds. There is no start button to press, it just starts all on its own. Even if you are still selecting the temperature/time, it starts by itself. I don’t like this at all. Another thing I really don’t like is that I cannot tell if or when it’s preheated to the temperature I set. There is no preheat indicator that I could find, no sound or light. This makes the unit a little confusing to operate and I don’t know when to add the item I’m baking since there is no preheat indicator or a readout of the current temperature. Another thing I don’t like is that you cannot place the extra pans on top of the unit when in use. I have another small multifunction oven, where I can do this, and it’s a great space saver. If you try to do that with the Bella Pro they vibrate, which isn’t good. Sliding the pans/racks in and out of the unit isn’t smooth and they don’t glide, like other unit’s I’ve used. They seem to rub against the metal inside which is a little unpleasant and leaves scuff marks. The pans themselves have good nonstick ceramic coating that really does a good job of releasing the burnt-on food so that it wipes away easily. Overall this unit is good for a single person or maybe a household of two. But with the small size of the pans, I wouldn’t get it for a full family to use. Also, the control panel might be confusing for some people, as it is for me. The design is aesthetically pleasing, but I’d rather it be wider to accommodate a full size pizza.

4 Easy to use and versatile
Posted by David Clark on Oct 1st 2024
Real nice air friyer. Its much bigger than your average basket based one (and here relies some of the little cons about it, I will explain later). You can make rotisserie chickens and pizza at home. They include a nice skewer system to put the chicken on and have it rotate. Its easy to clean, however they do not include baskets to fry other things like veggies or fries i.e and you have to be careful when cleaning it (its easy to clean, however its easy to spill over some grease too). They do include pans where you can make your pizzas, I was surprised the pizza pan is small, so make sure you make small pizzas (I'm describing bellow what pizzas I made). Now I have made pizzas on it (granted not fresh, I tried with those frozen ready for the oven, since those are mostly the ones that fitr and they come out great, with melted cheese and crispy crust!). However I did made a couple of small Cornish game hens and oh my god, they came out amazing. Crispy brown skin and super tender inside (I did marinated them over nigh on my own home made marinade with malt beer and other spices). In all, its a very versatile air fryer, however I think it shines if you love rotisserie chickens (I do, specially Peruvian style ones), this is how you can make them at home, they way you want them!!

4 Great As An Air Fryer!
Posted by Sandra Campbell on Sep 20th 2024
The Bella Pro 12.6 Touchscreen Air Fryer Pizza Oven with Rotisserie is a large feature laden air fryer. There are 10 preprogrammed cooking modes plus time and temperature settings available on the touch screen. A display shows the temperature and a time countdown. There are 2 perforated crisping trays, a baking/drip pan and a pizza pan, all with ceramic nonstick coating. There is also a rotisserie spit and rotisserie holder. This unit is much easier to clean than my previous "bucket style" air fryer in that you can remove the pans you just used and clean as opposed to having to clean the large "bucket". The perforated crisping trays do a much better job of crisping up frozen fried foods than my previous cooker. This unit seems to have a much higher air flow/circulation rate than my previous unit. Frozen battered fish fillets, frozen taquitos, roasted quartered new potatoes and Buffalo style wings all come out of this unit better than I have achieved in my previous unit. My primary intended use for this is air frying. In addition to air frying this oven has modes for roasting, broiling, baking, reheating, warming, pizza, bacon, dehydrating and the rotisserie. I have yet to be able to try out most of the functions. I Had 2 disappointments while reading the owners manual. First, the stated pizza capacity is 10 inches. I was able to find no 10 inch pizzas at the two markets I frequent. Most of the frozen pizzas I found were 11 to 16 inches. I found some (not frozen) rectangular flatbread pizzas that when halved could fit on the pizza pan. I tried four pieces, cooked different times/ways and contend that my regular oven does a better job. The second disappointment is that the stated rotisserie chicken capacity is 3 pounds. In 3 trips to grocery stores the smallest whole chicken I found was 5.8 pounds. Perhaps I'll get some cornish hens. Aside from my 2 minor disappointments in this unit, it has exceeded my primary intended use expectations as an air fryer. Having 2 crisping trays allows me to cook more at once or have 2 items cooking at once. All of the items I have air fried have been browned and crisped much better than in my previous unit. The removable ceramic nonstick trays are much easier and quicker to clean than in my old unit. As time goes by, I'll get to try out some of the other functions. It'll be great to dehydrate herbs from my Spring herb garden.
