    Better Than A HotBox

Posted by Brandy Anderson on Oct 21st 2024

If you don't already knowthis, Blueair has been making purifiers for some time and they just recently got into the humidifier game. My kids are mild asthmatic and suffer from allergies often( Bless 'em.) , so we have used air purifiers for a while, now. But when they or I get sickand we need to add some humidity to the mix, we tend to resort to boiling vapor rub in water and covering their faces in a homemade dome for humidity ( a lot of southerners know what I'm talking about.) Tis helps to release the stuffiness of the nasal cavities. However, it can be an uncomfortable experience for many. But humidifiers dp the tricl simply by being the room. Blueair doesn't disappoint in what it does. It's quiet and easy to use. Just add water and get started. There's a large reservoir to pour water into and it lasts a good while the vapors are barely noticeable and it allows us to sleep throughout the evening There'ss an indicator to let you know when you;re low on water and you don't even have to stop the process to refill the reservoir. Just pour the water right through the top. There's a dry mode, which allows you to go through a dry cycle to make sure that there's no lingering moisture to prevent molding. Changing the water filter is super easy and the whole machine can be operated through the Blueair App, from your phone. There are so many other things you can do with the app, so it very recommended that you install it. Inside the box, you'll simply get the humidifier and the power supply. There are also how to instructions in the box as well. But I do recommend it to any and everyone.

    Smart No-Mist Humidifier

Posted by Jessica Campbell on Oct 20th 2024

The Blueair InvisibleMist™ Humidifier comes packaged with a user manual, an extra water pump sponge filter, a 12v barrel jack power adapter and the humidifier unit itself. Setup Setup was very easy. You first download the Blueair App and register for an account. Then you power on the device. The Blueair InvisibleMist Humidifier uses Bluetooth to pair with your phone for setup, so you need to make sure Bluetooth is turned on in your phone. The Blueair app should now be able to find and display the humidifier. You then follow the prompts to select the Wi-Fi network you want the humidifier to connect to. The setup process was fairly simple, and I didn’t experience any hiccups. There is a touchscreen interface on top of the unit that has the following indicators and touch buttons: Humidity Level Indicator Power On Indicator/Button Wi-Fi Indicator Low Water Indicator Expired Filter Indicator/Button Auto Dry Mode Indicator/Button (the default is on and will cause the unit to use low airflow to dry out the filter after use or when the water tank is empty) Fan Speed Indicator/Button Auto Mode Indicator/Button (this causes the unit to automatically adjust humidification power to meet target humidity level) Night Mode Indicator/Button (this causes the fan speed to be extra quiet) Operation and Use Operation is very simple. You can pour water at the top of the unit to fill the water tank, or you can remove the water tank and take it up to a sink to fill it up with water. The water tank even has a handle for this. For me, I just poured water into the top of the unit using water bottles. The tank has a visible maximum water line to help you know when the tank is full. At first, I was confused because the Low Water Indicator was still on even though the water tank was full. I found out I have to turn off the unit and turn it back on for it to realize that there is water in the tank. I found the Blueair InvisibleMist Humidifier to be very quiet although I can hear the fan if the air is super dry, and the humidifier is working hard to increase the humidity level. But once it reaches a comfortable level (like 40%), the fan is basically silent, and you only sometimes hear what sounds like trickling of water. I did not see any visible mist coming from the top that usually occurs with ultrasonic humidifiers. The Blueair InvisibleMist Humidifier uses technology that doesn’t produce a mist or any white dust or residue that typically comes from ultrasonic humidifiers. The air coming out of the top of the humidifier felt cool and comfortable but not wet. Today was a very dry and cold day in my house. The Blueair InvisibleMist Humidifier reported a humidity level of 32% and my ThermoPro Hygrometer reported a very dry 29% for the room. After about ½ hour of use, the Blueair InvisibleMist Humidifier reported that humidity level rose to 42% while my ThermoPro Hygrometer reported that the humidity level increased to 35% and that the room went from “dry” to “comfort” level. This was really impressive to me! I hope that this will help make my room more comfortable for me and help alleviate my dry itchy skin and prevent static shocks when I need to work on upgrading parts for my computer during the dry winter months. The Blueair app is also very nice and intuitive to use. You have complete control over the humidifier using the app and it provides very useful information (such as a graph of the humidity levels over time) and the current humidity level and temperature. Overall, I am really impressed with the Blueair InvisibleMist Humidifier. It seems to work really well in raising the humidity levels of my room. It is simple to use and is easy to maintain. It is also very quiet during operation. Finally, I am very impressed with the mist-free technology as it doesn’t leave any wet residue nearby the unit. I can easily recommend the Blueair InvisibleMist Humidifier to anyone looking for a humidifier to make their home more comfortable and healthy.

    Keeps my teenager's room humidified

Posted by Barry Griffin on Oct 18th 2024

The Blueair Invisible Mist 0.9 gallon Evaporative Premium Smart Top-Fill Humidifier comes with one replaceable wick filter installed, one water pump sponge filter installed, plus one additional water pump sponge filter. While you can use the humidifier without the app, to get the most from the unit, you will probably want to install the Blueair app. There is a QR code to access the app on page 10 of the included instructions. Set up was pretty straight forward and the instructions are good. I downloaded the app and set up an account. Then I followed the instructions to pair with the humidifier. Once paired I followed the instructions to add it to my Wi-Fi network. (I’m a little paranoid so it is on the IOT segment of my network.) Note the instructions advise that the humidifier will only connect to a 2.4GHz network. One of the nice features is that you can refill the unit through the top without taking it apart. Just pour water down through the top grill, avoiding the display. If you really want to take it apart to refill it, the water tank has a flip up handle to carry it like a bucket. There are instructions for weekly cleaning that include washing the replaceable wick filter in a mild citric acid solution. The app also has an indicator for how much life is left in the replaceable wick filter. The one thing that concerns me about the wick filter (estimated life is 6 months) is the cost of the replacement filters. I found them available on the Blueair website. Buying with a subscription rather than individually when you need one saves $3 off the price of each filter. But I’m not a fan of subscriptions, so I will need to consider that $3 difference. This review isn’t about the app. The humidifier works just fine without it. But the app lets you access things besides the regular settings like setting a schedule, monitoring graphical history of the humidity level, monitoring the remaining useful life of the wick filter and the current temperature (where the unit is). In summary, after a week of use, it seems to be keeping my teenager’s room at a constant humidity level. It’s easy to set up, easy to use and not too tough to clean and maintain.

    Really good humidifer

Posted by Olivia Bailey on Oct 11th 2024

It's a lot bigger than I expected when unboxing this unit. It was almost the same size as the box. But when you take time to think about it, the humidifier has to be able to hold a good amount of water so it can run for a long period of time without refilling, and this unit can run all night. Speaking of unboxing, inside the box is the humidifier and a power cable plus a manual. That's it. Minimalistic, I really like that. The humidifier holds 3.5 liters of water, that's a lot. At first, I thought that the top part of the unit really does come off easily from the bottom, which holds the water. This gave me concern about if tipped over how easily water would be spilled all over the place. But then I realized that even though that is still a possibility, Blueair did this so you can easily remove the top and take the bottom tank to a sink to fill with water. The bottom tank even has a handle that pops out for easy carrying. Very cool. You also can fill the unit directly by pouring water through the top of the unit if you prefer. I still recommend though that the unit is put on a flat surface somewhere not near any electrical device just in case it does get tipped over. Downloading the app and connecting to the unit was a breeze. Bleuair has videos that will give you step by step instructions. App is simple and to the point. You can turn the unit on/off, set a timer schedule and look at humidity percentages and fan speed. I also really like how the unit looks. To me, it looks like one of those new home speakers and blends in well. You can't go wrong with this unit.

    A Better Humidifier

Posted by Alan Maxwell on Oct 7th 2024

The Blueeair InvisibleMist Humidifier is a great choice when looking for a humidifier for a bedroom or office up to 500 sqft. The humidifier is relatively compact for its 3.5L capacity, measuring under 15” high and 9” wide. The InvisibleMist technology is essentially an evaporative humidifier with a replaceable anti-microbial wick filter. To maintain clean, healthy humidification Blueair recommends replacing the filter every 6 months. There is also a foam pump filter which can be cleaned periodically, but they do provide a spare pump filter. The pump has a UV light to disinfect the water before it is applied to the replaceable anti-microbial filter to ensure a pure, clean humidification of your air. Blueair even states you can use tap water, though we will continue to use distilled water to minimize buildup in the reservoir. The top-fill reservoir is also removable for filling or cleaning. The tank is also top-rack dishwasher safe if you prefer not to wash by hand. Though the unit can be operated stand alone, the Blueair app provides realtime and historic humidity readings, remote control, scheduling and filter life tracking. If you do not need those features you can easily operate it with the top, touch sensitive interface. I found the humidifier to work better than expected and I had to adjust my humidity target down. The top-fill design is my favorite feature along with the effort to maintain clean humidification Blueair has considered in their design, making the InvisibleMist Humidifier a great choice and value when looking to add humidity to your home.

    Great features, but inaccurate/ineffective

Posted by Nicholas Barrera on Oct 1st 2024

I really wanted to love this Blueair InvisibleMist humidifier. It has a lot of great features that I would want in any humidifier I ever get into the future. Our house gets dry in these colder months and after getting another inexpensive brand that was working great for us, we wanted to get another for our loft which we would eventually move into our new baby's room whom we are expecting in march. It gets so dry that we start to get shocks from the static whenever we touch light switches, blankets and even our cats. I have sensitive skin and it gets easily dry as well. The other humidifier helped this greatly and we definitely felt like we were breathing better while sleeping. We really hoped this Blueair humidifier would work even better. First, the good. Setup was easy, including the app. This includes taking the parts apart, rinsing everything and putting it back together. When the time comes, cleaning should be simple. The screen on the unit is user friendly as is the app. For those wary of using the app, almost everything can be done via the unit except setting schedules, viewing the humidity level graph/room temperature and the filter life percentage. At least that's all I have found so far. But I do recommend the app for keeping track of those extra things. Having a built in UV lamp is a bigger deal than most people would probably realize, unless you're an aquarium owner, then you know. I used to have one built into my pump for an indoor pond for years and the difference it made in keeping the water clear and clean was night & day. Despite the warning in the manual about it potentially damaging your eyes and skin if you look at it, I have no idea where it is so it must be hidden inside. So there are no worries there for anyone passing by and accidentally looking at it. On low, it's silent. The water lasts a couple of days on this speed, too, which is nice. Having a filter like this in a humidifier is a first for me but the benefits of having one outweigh the cons of having to replace it. The auto mode is another great feature if it worked, but more on that below. By far the best thing about this device is the ability to fill the unit up by pouring water into the top. This is such a nice convenience that once you have a machine that can do this, you won't want anything else. Now for the bad. The unit has three fan speeds. It goes through water significantly faster from one speed to the next after low, but that's fine considering how easy it is to fill. While the low setting is silent, I find the medium and high settings louder than I'd like. I don't know if it's just my unit, but on the medium setting the fan has a bit of a rattle to it that is only noticeable when close to it during the day but at night when it's really quiet like when you're trying to sleep, it's pretty audible and bothersome to me. Minus that inconsistent rattle, I think it would become just white noise. On high, the sound jumps significantly to where it would be too loud for my taste while trying to sleep. There is a night mode which I thought would just turn off the display. However, it also turns the fan off so if you wanted to raise it with the display off, you have to turn the brightness down or off, but then back up later if you prefer. Fortunately the display isn't that bright to begin with so at least there's that. The biggest problem I have with this device is it just seems very inaccurate. I first put the machine in my loft right near where my thermostat is so I could compare it to that as well as my other brand in our bedroom. When I first plugged it in and used manual mode, it was reading 50% plus which I thought was odd. My thermostat showed at this time about 40% or a little under. It was also showing the incorrect temperature on the app saying it was about 10 degrees colder than the 2nd floor actually was. I figured maybe after some time these things would adjust. It didn't take long for it to change, however for the humidity the reading went up, not down. It was now showing 60% plus which I knew wasn't right. I left it going like this for the next 24 hours and it just fluctuated around 55-60%. The temperature reading didn't really change. My other brand in our bedroom is always close or matched the thermostat. After giving the Blueair another day in the loft, seeing no change in both it's reading or really no change on my thermostat, I decided to switch the two devices, moving the Blueair into our bedroom. That way I could compare since I know there can be some variation from room to room, but it shouldn't be THIS much. From here, I left the machine powered on but didn't turn it on for hours to see if it would adjust. Upon starting, it did drop 10% at start to around 45% and the temperature did eventually match the thermostat. Still higher than what my thermostat was reading (now 35%ish at night) but much better. Figured the other device had did it's job earlier as well and that moisture was retained in the room. After being on for hours, it was once again reading around 55% in my bedroom now and the temperature now 5 degrees colder than it was. A day later, I swapped their locations again. While the Blueair did drop down closer to what the other device and my thermostat was reading finally, overall it was always around an average of 10% higher (often more) then it probably should be. It just seems to be all over the place. Because of these issues, using the "auto" mode is out of the question because it will never be able to keep a lower set level if it always thinks it's already humid. While of course I expect there to be a difference in a room when using the product, there is no way my humidity level is 55-60% in any given room. I wonder if the sensors are thrown off inside by whatever InvisibleMist technology because it's converting it to vapors first instead of just expelling it, thus retaining moisture inside. Above all this, my wife and I aren't even sure if we feel like it's that effective. We started getting shocks again and my skin was feeling drier again even after a few days of it on while we left it in our bedroom. After I did the switch with the other brand the final time, we once again noticed a change in air quality quite quickly, unlike this one. If this Blueair humidifier actually felt like it was making more of a difference, I would be willing to maybe look past the very inaccurate readings. Perhaps my house is different and this is just a problem in my particular situation, who knows. While it may look nice with no mist shooting out, perhaps the biggest downfall of invisible mist style is it just doesn't have the same strength. Although my bedroom and loft are definitely under 500 sq ft and it should work fine, I will still try it in the babies room since it's much smaller to see how it does but I'm wary of not being able to trust it. The best thing I can recommend to anyone having the same issue is try calibrating the unit by plugging it in but don't turn it on until hours later to see if you get a more accurate reading from the start.

    Wifi updated winter must item

Posted by Justin Rivera on Sep 28th 2024

I needed a new humidifier for my family room. This claims a fair size area coverage, so I figured I'd give it a try. I habe a blueair airfilter, and it works ok, and the wifi setup and app work well, so I figured I'd try this. The size of the water canister is good, but it is definitely a daily filler. The footprint of this can sit on an end table off to the side and it is pretty quite even on the top fan fans speed. Setup was quick and instructions easy to follow (it came with printed ones) the wick is included, and refills are readily available at many online retailers or their website. The wifi and app are laid out well and I can control and monitor stuff from anywhere I'm at. The cost is a bit much for a humifier, many non smart ones of similar aize are half thus, but to have wifi and the app, this is the going rate, really not bad. Replacement wicks are on par with others prices also. I am not a huge fan of the touch screen controls, I like buttons, but they do ok. I'm not sure the humidity montir works correctly either. I reads 10 over where the rest om my other house monitors read it (my thermostat has sensors in my house to tell me) . This would greatly effect the auto run feature, likely leaving your house dryer than you want it. Overall. Nice humidifier, I give it 4 out of 5 stars, deductions so far for the humidity sensor. I've had it going for a week and it seems that I won't be able to use auto set to keep it accurately at a level. Never matches my other house sensors that do match each other. I would still reccomend this to friends and family.

Whisper Quiet while Providing Pure Air Moisture

Posted by Rodney Mays on Sep 26th 2024

I have several humidifiers because my family gets eczema whenever the atmospheric humidity gets too low. Since my kids are currently sick and complained that the other humidifier was making odd noises, I put this one in their room and set it to be on all night while they sleep. First off, Blueair is not joking about its invisible mist and quietness. I cannot tell it is on sometimes without either standing quietly over it feeling for moisture or checking my app. It is especially quiet on sleep mode. The display’s brightness is completely customizable from 0-100%, which I love but it has one drawback. I leave it on 0% at night when I want the fan on higher than what sleep mode provides, and when I go to turn it on the next day, I can’t tell if I am or not because nothing shows, and it is so quiet. So, while I love the feature, it would be great if it could give a quick flash of acknowledgment when a button is tapped. It has a waterproof touchscreen interface that is incredibly responsive and gives the humidifier a simple and polished look. The unit itself is quite small therefore it takes up very little space. The problem to the size is that it requires frequent refills. The simplicity of the machine is laudable. It is so easy to refill if I find it is low in the middle of the night when my kids are asleep. I just pour water in from the top and the most noise I make is the sound of water splashing. I am also impressed with how easily I can clean it. Having various humidifiers around the house, most with many parts, pieces, nooks, and crannies that mold and bacteria can grow in, makes routine cleaning a chore and hard to keep up with. This is not the case with Blueair, it is so easy to clean and the auto-dry and UV feature help a lot. Plus, this is the first humidifier I have found to have dishwasher a safe tank! Blueair may have found their way into my heart through this. The app makes controlling the humidifier remotely easy if I forget to set it on for my kids at night or to leave a timer to make it turn off when they wake up to go to school. It shows current humidity and even indoor temperature, as well as a chart tracking both over the course of the day, week, and month. I can see the remaining life of the wick filter and even buy a new one. I can also set it on a schedule to make my life easier. It is interesting how much the air wick helps in terms of the quality of moist air released. Ever since I started using Blueair, I have not once walked into the room and felt muggy, moist air. My usual reason for staying away from filtered humidifiers is the ongoing expenditure of pricey filter replacements, but Buleair provides them at such an economical price that I cannot even complain about that. The only downside I find to wick filters is not being able to diffuse essential oils as I rely on eucalyptus and mint whenever anyone is congested. All around, I find that this humidifier provides superior air moisture with a simplified design that gives me less work and more comfort. It is a great addition for a bedroom and small enough to keep one from too much forethought on finding a spot for it. I both commend it and recommend it.

    One of a kind

Posted by Tina Brown on Sep 14th 2024

As a person who has past trauma to my nose, I find that dry environments tend to cause me issues breathing and also frequents congestion and nose bleeds. Naturally I would look for relief and I have found that with the Blueair H35i. I trust Blueair products because they are top notch I have owned a number of their products for air filtration and they perform admirably. My experience but has been great for every product of theirs that I own and have owned. I have carpet at home, along with a dog who sheds an unbelievable amount of fur to the point where one would wonder how he has any fur left on his self. I use a Blueair purifier and it does the job cutting down on dander and pet hair. Now I was searching for a humidifier and owned quite a few over the years and they would all put out a strong mist making the room it is in a damp and wet mess. While that may be the point of a humidifier it doesn’t have to be a soggy and wet mess. :::General Impressions::: Upon opening the box, I was taken back on how big this product is and it is not a bad thing once setup and running. I would classify this as the “Dyson” of humidifiers because it pretty much was a breeze to setup and use. You have the water reservoir on the bottom, the filter, the top part with the LCD screen and the power cord. It is very lightweight and even when filled with water it remains light. I have had this for a few days and filled it to the max and I use it overnight for roughly four to seven hours depending on how long I sleep or my infant son. We both have congestion issues most especially during the night. I have the Blueair application on my phone and pairing it was effortless. I like that I can set features such as power on and off, adjusting fan speed, lcd brightness, and setting a timer and schedule. I personally like the timer feature and use it every night, I like not having to shut it off manually every day. I would like to reiterate that I have owned numerous brands over the years and none are like the H35i. This humidifier is nearly silent and doesn’t flood the space with a mist of water as if you were at Niagara Falls. I appreciate not having my furniture and bedroom a soaking wet mess. Not having to worry about mold issues is an added bonus. Filling the BA H35i is just as easy as using it, you can literally take a pitcher and pour it right into the top of it. What other device can do that? :::Pros & Cons::: Pros: -
