4 Good

Overall this is a great vacuum. I had been wanting to pull the trigger on getting one for months, and when I found out there was a new submarine version with a mop I was sold. As I expected, the hard surface vacuum and laser were my favorite qualities. The mop, not so much. The mop does not pick up hair strands or large clumps of anything like other vacuum mops. I also have white shiny floors and it leaves a lot of streaky lines making the floor look dirty when it’s not. So if you have shiny floors, other Dyson mop options may be better. For that I removed 1 star. Other than that, I’m obsessed with it and love all the vacuum attachments and probably would have been ok getting the regular Dyson V15 rather than the submarine for my floors.

3 works great but not worth the $$$$
Posted by Robin Harvey on Sep 24th 2024
this is an excellent vacuum, typical dyson performance. of course you will always use it on turbo mode, so don't expect more than 15 minutes battery life. as for the "mop" part, its really not worth it. it is not practical to replace traditional mopping with this, for many reasons: battery life not long enough, the reservoir holds a small amount of water, and the brush head easily transfers any smelly liquids it comes in contact with to clean sections of the floor. my advice: skip this bujee vacuum, get a less expensive cordless dyson, and just stick with the spin mop and bucket. this is just not worth the price

5 Another great vacuum from Dyson
Posted by Ann Garcia on Sep 20th 2024
I have been using Dyson vacuums since V7. The overall vacuum quality isn't that much different than say V11 but other features like mopping and the green light (which I genuinely thought was going to be gimmicky) really do make the difference. With couple of cats in the house, this is the product I always needed/wanted.

5 The most powerful vacuum I've ever used.
Posted by Morgan Sanchez on Sep 19th 2024
This new Dyson V15s Detect Submarine cordless vacuum is so much more than just a single purpose vacuum. With three separate powered heads, a powered “Hair Screw” tool, and additional cleaning tools, this new vacuum by Dyson is a multi-purpose four-in-one powerhouse. It can clean your house from the smudged hard floors to the cobwebs on the ceilings and everything in between, with power and efficiency. This is the first Dyson vacuum I’ve ever used. I’ve owned many other brands and models of vacuums over the years, I just haven’t had the opportunity to experience a Dyson vacuum until now. The vacuum arrived in the product box wrapped in a protective light cardboard outer sleeve-like box that was easily removed with a pull tab at the bottom corner. The product box is tightly packed using cardboard and paper to keep all the parts separated and held into place. I appreciate the way Dyson uses paper to protect the plastic parts from scuffing while shipping and in storage. I also like that all of the paper and cardboard packaging is easily recycled. Along with the vacuum and all the accessories, included in the box is a Quick Start guide, a guide to mount the Wall Dok and some regulatory & safety information. There is also a sheet with a QR code and another QR code on the inner box lid with instructions to download the Dyson app for access to user manuals and warranty information. Both guides are pretty basic with pictures only. The Wall Dok mounting guide is sufficient but I feel like the Dyson Submarine quick start guide could use a little more information. The pictures are pretty easy to follow, but some included text would be appreciated. Also, the instructions are only for the Submarine wet roller head and nothing else. For any additional information on how to get this set up, along with daily usage tips, you need to visit the app or website, register the device and view the User Manual and/or watch the helpful videos. The instructional videos are great by the way. The MyDyson app is basically a resource for learning about your new vacuum; getting set up, daily maintenance, instructional videos, links to shop for accessories and get help if needed. I have noticed some minor inconsistencies between the videos and the user guide for this unit. In one example, when learning how to clean the filter, the video on the website and app says to use cold tap water to wash the filter, however the user guide available on the MyDyson app says to wash the filter using warm tap water. In another example, the app shows a video on how to assemble a Grab and Go Dok, which was not included with this unit. What makes it more confusing is that the video starts and ends with a photo of the Wall Dok, while the video itself shows assembly of the Grab and Go Dok. Speaking of the Grab and Go Dok, it looks great, and I wish it was included with this vacuum. The Wall Dok works, okay, but I worry about it tearing away from my wall over time, with every grab and dock of the vacuum, since it’s mounted to the wall with two screws into drywall anchors. The Wall Dok does have two ports for cleaning tool storage, however you can only fit the smaller tools into these spots since the other heads and hair screw tool are all too large to fit against the wall. The Fluffy Optic head fits, but it looks a little odd hanging there, and I worry about more weight on the drywall anchors. I really wish this came with the Grab and Go Dok instead. Charging the vacuum is really simple with a few options available. You can dock the vacuum onto the Wall Dok which is connected to the charging cable. Or you can dock the battery by itself to be charged. You can also plug the battery directly into the charging cable while it’s in the vacuum. The battery life can vary depending on the power mode you use and/or what heads you use to clean. It looks like I can get about an hour of battery life on Eco Mode and up to fifteen minutes when I choose Boost mode for maximum power. There is also an Auto/Med mode available that balances the suction power based on the particles and debris measured to maximize battery life and cleaning efficiency. While using Auto Mode I was able to vacuum my carpets and rugs, dust the floors and give them a quick wash, all with one charge, in my twenty one hundred square foot home. Using this vacuum has instantly spoiled me with how powerful it is, the versatility of use, its innovative features, quality build, intelligent design and light weight. This is absolutely the most powerful vacuum I’ve ever used, even compared to corded vacuums. When using the Boost Mode the Digital Motorbar cleaner head grabs onto the carpet tight, almost too tight for some surfaces such as my dense wool blend rug in the dining room. When using Boost on that rug, the head becomes nearly unrollable because of how strong the suction becomes in that optional mode. That’s the best “problem” I’ve ever had with a vacuum! LOL Speaking of the Digital Motorbar detangling head, it really does de-tangle hair from the brush bar as you clean, so that you’re not left pulling hair and long fibers from the roller, as with other brands. I have two dogs, who shed a lot. One short hair and one long hair and this head has not gotten tangled or clumped with dog hair at all. That’s a HUGE win in my book, after having spent a lot of time pulling dog hair from other brand rollers in the past. While the Digital Motorbar head works wonders with carpeting and rugs, the real magic begins when you trade it out for the Fluffy Optic cleaner head to work on your hard floors. The Fluffy Optic cleaner head is equipped with a very bright LED that illuminates the surface in front of the roller as you vacuum. When I first read about this feature, I thought it was a bit gimmicky, however, after experiencing it first hand, I love it, because it works amazingly well. I didn’t realize how much hair and dust I was missing with my other vacuum. With the bright green light I’m now able to easily see my path as I vacuum through the illuminated dust and hair, sucking up every last bit. I also now wait until the evening and/or I turn down my lights to vacuum, since the green light isn’t as useful in a bright light environment. But, even in this type of setting, it’s still great for seeing the dust under and behind furniture as you vacuum those areas. One concern I have about the bright green light is using it near pets who may be tempted to look directly into the light. I wonder if Dyson should include a warning about that and I personally would advise putting pets into another room if you have issues keeping them away from the roller head, as I do with my dog occasionally. She’s not afraid of vacuums, she just tries to play with them. The Fluffy Optic roller itself does a great job picking up everything it touches and leaving my floors nice and clean. While the magic gets started with the Fluffy Optic roller, it really gets to work with the new Submarine wet roller head. This head is a super easy way to clean the daily muck from your hard floors, removing the smudges left behind from dirty feet and the drops of whatever somebody spilled on the floor as they were cooking dinner last night. It’s a good way to keep your floor clean without having to use harsh cleaners or chemicals, which is important to me. Best of all, it’s simple and easy to use. You just fill up the reservoir, attach the roller head and start cleaning. It does a great job of evenly coating the surface in water and scrubbing the dirt and stains away from the floor. Once finished, you disassemble the head, emptying the dirty water and remaining clean water, washing the head, parts and roller using your hands and soapy water. After everything is clean you need to set it all somewhere to dry for at least twenty four hours. I usually set my roller and or any filters I clean near a sunny window to have the added benefit of UV ray sanitization. The Dyson site recommends replacing your roller every six months. Currently, rollers are not sold on the Dyson site but hopefully they will be added in the next six months. I think this new Submarine wet roller head is a great added feature to the Dyson vacuum cleaner. It really takes the V15s to the next level, saving consumers the added cost of having to purchase a separate floor washing machine. The included cleaning tools are pretty standard but do the job well. They can attach to the Wand Clip, where they will hang from the vacuum as you clean, or you can attach them to the Wall Dok for storage. The cleaning tools and heads are all easy to connect to the vacuum cleaner, wand, wand clip and Wall Dok with a simple click. And they hold into place firmly until released with the press of a button. I love this new vacuum and I can’t believe I’ve waited so long to try a Dyson. If you are looking for a new dependable vacuum, that does more than just clean your carpets, and offers the best suction that money can buy, look no further than this Dyson V15s. You will be amazed by the powerful suction, entranced by the new green detection light and you’ll wonder how you ever lived without the new Submarine wet roller head.

5 Not a wet vac, just has a mopping attachment
Posted by Jennifer Smith on Sep 4th 2024
Let's get the main thing out of the way - it's not really a wet vacuum that you can suck the spill up with, it just comes with a brand new mopping attachment. When mopping attachment is in use - vacuum's motor is not running, you pretty much just use the battery to spin the mopping roller in the attachment. It won't pickup large amounts of liquid from the floor like a shop vac would. That said - it's actually an excellent vacuum! It comes with a whole bunch of attachments: Regular floor turbo brush with anti-tangle system that pushes hair off of the rotating brush (which is awesome when you have family members with long hair) Narrow furniture turbo brush with the same anti-hair-tangle system. Laser brush - it's made for hardwood floors and lights up the dust with the green "laser like" beam - makes spotting dirty spots super easy, I had a few shocks first time I used that attachment and realized how messy some corners were! Mopping attachment - you pretty much pour water or hardwood cleaner into container on the attachment itself, connect it to the vacuum wand and go mop! Mopping roller is turning which causes is to pickup clean water, apply it on the floor surface and then wring out the roller to the dirty water reservoir (also part of the attachment, vacuum does not suck dirty water up). I could easily see how effective that system is just by looking at the dirty water container - it was nasty! Vacuum power head includes dust container (which is easy to empty into a trash can), motor and battery. Small display at the back of the power head shows how dirty the air is and vacuum automatically adjusts suction power depending on what you cleaning, sometimes it rises the suction to the point when brush gets stuck to the carpet and kinda hard to move! Battery lasts about 30 minutes, I was actually able to vacuum and mop 3000sq ft house no problem on a single charge. Overall - if you are still using corded vacuum - upgrade to Dyson V15 - it has a ton of power, battery endurance and various attachment for any cleaning job you can think of!

5 5 Star Vacuum, 4.5 Star Wet Mop!
Posted by Ryan Caldwell on Sep 3rd 2024
This is one of the most exciting reviews that I have done in a while. I love reviewing tech products of all sorts, but once in a while, something comes along that actually revolutionizes the way we conduct our household. This Dyson V15s Detect Submarine is one of them. What Dyson is offering here is a pricey but wicked cool cleaning device that has as more technology built into it than some automobiles from a few decades ago. The TL;DR of this review is that if you already own a newer Dyson vacuum such as the base-model V15 detect, it will be up to you whether buying this newer complete wet/dry set with the Submarine wet roller head is worth it. Unfortunately, the V15s Submarine wet roller head is not backwards compatible with standard V15 detect models (I checked with my already owned V15 detect), so you are going to need to upgrade to this entire kit to enjoy the tremendous benefits of the mop head. If you are coming from an older cordless vacuum or corded vacuum, then whip out that card and add this thing to the cart, because you are going to kick yourself once you get it and see how much better and more efficient cleaning your home is with this setup! The standard V15 vacuum portion of this bundle with the included implements is excellent and is directly on par with the base V15 detect bundle that I already own. Accessory for accessory and attachment for attachment, everything is almost the same as my old V15 detect bundle (apart from the handle having “v15 Detect Submarine” being written on the vacuum extension). This is awesome because, in my opinion and that of many others, the V15 Detect is qualitatively and quantitatively one of the best cordless vacuums on the market today! I will try not to go into a nauseating amount of detail given that the V15 detect and associated features are already well known and available on the market, but I will give my overview. The fluffy detect head absolutely slays hard floor dirt and messes and with the detect feature, reveals dirt, dust, and hairs that I would have never seen without it. The digital MotorBar cleaner head is one of the only vacuum heads I have ever used that can handle vacuuming up my wife’s 3-foot-long curly hairs out of our carpets without getting them all wound up around the brush head. Finally, the included attachments are just right for pitching into corners, blinds, fan blades, and all the other places you may not normally think of that are vacuumable before getting your hands on a fantastic wireless vacuum like this! Dyson has additional attachments available and so far, it appears that all of the attachments for the original V15 detect are cross compatible with the standard vacuum portion. The base dry vacuum portion of this package is an industry leader but retains a few of the irritations others have mentioned before like the trigger that can be strenuous to pull for lengthy amounts of time for arthritic or delicate hands and the lack of any good way to stand this thing upright when not in use (I usually go for placing it into a corner of my kitchen counters and that does the trick). Now, the Submarine wet roller head. I have decided that Dyson has built some sort of spell craft or sorcery into this attachment, because what this amazing implement does practically defies conventional household cleaning expectations. What blows my mind is that clean tap water goes into the water reservoir, and what dumps out of the waste collection bin is gritty, dirty water, even when I run the mop head over what appears to be visually clean floors! I am just amazed by this. I ran this detect over some spilled orange juice, and nothing was left but a spotless part of the floor without even the slightest detectable bit of stickiness and only the thinnest layer of moisture from mopping that evaporated within a couple minutes. I ran it across some tough coffee and creamer spills that I neglected to wipe up a few weeks ago and that had unfortunately petrified onto my wood floor in the kitchen. After running this wet roller head over the spots for a few back-and-forth slow passes, the spots had disappeared! The disassembly and reassembly of the mop head attachment is incredibly intuitive, and Dyson includes a visual guide to get you started. What I think is most compelling about the Submarine wet roller head is that it is truly designed to be user maintainable and with just using plain water, requires that no dollars be spent on expensive exclusive detergent mixtures or cleaning agents! I am thrilled with this and love the implications. If you feel you need to use a cleaner or detergent on your floors, Dyson advises to use a low foaming solution, stick to common household cleaners, and to avoid bleach. They do not feel the cleaners are necessary, but you may feel you need them. My method personally if I am going to be cleaning up something nasty like pet yuck will just be to run the wet mop over the mess. sanitize the area afterwards with Lysol or Clorox wipes, and then of course thoroughly clean the roller head attachment components so it doesn’t turn into a microbiology lab. You may not quite want to throw out your old mop though. The place where I give this mop head 4.5 out of 5 stars is basically that it is not quite floorboard to floorboard easy to use. I pushed the wet roller head up against a stain right next to a floorboard trim piece and found when I pulled the roller head back that I had squeezed some of the dirty water out of the roller head and it had pooled up against the floorboard (as in my pictures). Another deficiency in its design is that I really do think it is important to give whatever hard surface you are going to mop a good vacuuming first with the fluffy detect head. The mop head stays incredibly clean of the dirty water since that is getting continuously squeegeed out into the waste bin, but larger dirt and food particles appear to get embedded in the mop roller ever now and then which logically takes a toll on your mopping performance. Therefore, some care must be taken when using this wet roller head, but it is honestly one of the coolest cleaning products to ever roll through my household. The maintenance of the wet roller head is incredibly easy. It breaks down in just a few simple steps and the wet roller head just needs to be cleaned with cold water and the implements allow to air dry for a while once you are done! Care just needs to be taken not to soak the electrical contacts at the top of the Submarine wet roller head pivoting-neck connection point. The drip tray included with the Submarine wet roller head is perfect for allowing some of the little remaining moisture to evaporate off and keeps the implement from smelling musty and mildew from building up. Altogether, this V15s Detect Submarine package is a ready option for keeping an entire household with most every type of flooring squeaky clean from top to bottom. The Submarine wet roller attachment is not just a gimmick either but is actually a handy tool for generally maintaining of hard floors, small spills and messes, and for scrubbing away some of those tougher stains and spots on hard floors. The entire setup here is undeniably expensive, but every aspect of this vacuum appliance from the air filter to the new wet roller head is designed to be user maintenance and vastly reusable, so there really is positive impact with this setup of having to go through expensive filter replacements and proprietary detergents and cleaning agents all the time! Thanks for reading and I hope this review gets you as excited as I have been to own this Dyson V15s Detect Submarine package!

5 It's a Dyson that also mops. Breakthrough?
Posted by Gerald Jones on Sep 2nd 2024
I recently had the opportunity to upgrade my vacuuming (and mopping!) routine with the Dyson V15s Detect Submarine Cordless Vacuum, and it has been revolutionary in every aspect. From the moment I unboxed it, the sleek design and thoughtful packaging caught my eye. Setting it up was a breeze, with clear instructions that even a non-tech-savvy person like myself could follow effortlessly. The click-to-assemble feature made it feel like I was assembling advanced cleaning equipment. One of the standout features for me was the Submarine cleaner head. Living in a household with various flooring types, I was impressed by its ability to simultaneously wash hard floors and tackle wet and dry debris. For instance, when I spilled some coffee on the kitchen tiles, the Submarine cleaner head cleaned it up without me having to switch to a different attachment. The convenience of this feature was genuinely revolutionary. The Fluffy Optic cleaner head deserves special mention and has become one of my favorites to use on hard flooring. Its ability to reveal invisible dust on hard floors with a green laser was like having an effective tool against unseen dirt. What truly sets the Dyson V15s Detect Submarine apart is the Digital Motorbar cleaner head. It handled carpets and hard floors seamlessly, and the de-tangling feature was a blessing. For example, when I moved from the carpeted living room to the hardwood floor in the dining room, the vacuum adjusted its suction power automatically, saving me the hassle of doing it manually. The transition from room to room felt effortless, and the adaptability of the vacuum to different surfaces was a noticeable improvement from my previous model. The piezo sensor, an intelligent addition to the vacuum, constantly optimizes power and run time-based on the debris it encounters. This information was neatly displayed on the LCD screen, providing real-time feedback that allowed me to understand the amount of microbes lying around my home that the Dyson would take care of removing. It felt like having a personal assistant for my cleaning tasks, ensuring efficiency without unnecessary power consumption. Another highlight for me was the versatility of the cordless format. With just one click, the vacuum transformed into a handheld powerhouse. Cleaning high shelves, reaching low corners, and every nook and cranny in between became a hassle-free experience. It made me realize that cleaning could be more dynamic and less cumbersome. In conclusion, the Dyson V15s Detect Submarine has redefined my cleaning routine. It's not just a vacuum; it's an intelligent cleaning companion that adapts to my needs. The Submarine wet vac attachment, in particular, has become my go-to solution for various messes. This Dyson is worth every penny if you're looking for a vacuum that combines power, intelligence, and versatility.

Wow, this Dyson V15s Detect Submarine is a game-changer! Forget everything you thought you knew about cordless vacuums. This thing is like a super-powered cleaning machine, and it's seriously impressive. First of all, it tackles everything! I have hardwood floors, carpets, and even occasional spills – the V15s Detect Submarine handles it all. The different heads make switching between surfaces a breeze. No more wrestling with multiple vacuums! The wet/dry function is a total lifesaver. Cleaning up small kitchen messes or bathroom drips is so much easier now. No more grabbing the mop and bucket – just a quick vacuum and I'm done! Plus, I can easily clean my whole house without feeling like I'm lifting weights. The battery life is pretty decent too, enough to get most chores done in one go. Now, it is a bit pricey, but honestly, for the time it saves me and the overall convenience, I think it's worth it. It's like having a little cleaning robot sidekick that follows you around! Overall, if you're looking for a top-of-the-line cordless vacuum that can handle anything, the Dyson V15s Detect Submarine is definitely worth considering.
