    Great Microwave

Posted by Emily Sullivan on Oct 25th 2024

Easy to install yourself. You do NOT need a bump out kit unless your cabinets are deeper then 15” even if you have a 36” opening width for an older microwave like I do. I unfortunately listened to bad online advice. The filler kits are hard to find and are back ordered everywhere as of this writing but I was able to find one on eBay. Check the General Electric site for the right kit for this model as there are different ones. Marking a centerline is most important. One last install tip: don’t over tighten the bolts on top because the receiving jackets will lose their grip. My wife love the darker stove-like interior and says it’s much easier to clean then the white ones. Worth the extra money

Color is black not like the dark slate with stainl

Posted by Emily Wilson on Oct 16th 2024

We needed to replace our microwave and we were trying to match our stove (GE)...closest we could find was this microwave, and I was a little worried about the color matching...it says black (w/stainless) but the picture made it look more like a dark slate gray. I was so relieved once it was installed to see it was actually a perfect match (black) to our stove, and not the dark slate that appeared in the picture. Simple buttons-handful of specific buttons (popcorn, melt, etc), express times, but really all that’s needed unless you’re a gourmet microwave chef. Inside gray flecked enamel was a big plus over the white inside of our last microwave that started peeling within the 1st 2 years, and foresee it not showing every little thing like the last one that became my nemesis...a good weekly cleaning should suffice instead of a daily cleaning.

    So far so good

Posted by Paula Yoder on Oct 14th 2024

Gonna start with the only issue I have had with this model: Day 1 the LED Surface light worked fine - Day 2 stopped working, "OK" I thought I'll buy a replacement assuming the bulb broke. Tried a new bulb and still doesn't work - so apparently some other issue. It looks like this was originally outfitted for a standard incandescent bulb and was retrofitted for LED. We doint use the underneath light so its not the end of the world, but for a brand new appliance not the best start. Other than that installation was relatively easy - took me about 5 hours to remove old one and install new one. Microwave works good and looks good with our matching GE Stove.

Everything you need in a very reasonably priced microwave (looks, space, functionality, efficiency). Looking forward to enjoying our daily microwave use for a long time.

Replaced my 25 year old GE with this one.

Posted by Nina Villa on Oct 3rd 2024

Replaced my 25 year old GE with this one. It went out with a bang about a month ago. This one was missing the mouthing bracket and hardware out of the box. I called Best Buy and they said I had to box it back up and return it to the store it was purchased at. They would either supply the missing parts or take it back. But that wasn’t really an option as it was 75 miles away. It’s hard to find white appliances in stock anymore. I called GE and they had it shipped out same day. FedEx dropped the ball on the shipping, but that’s another long story. Parts arrived a week later and now it’s installed and working good. GE has always been good to work with. I’ve had a few customer service things that have alway been taken care of timely. Installation went alright. I wish it would have used the same mounting bracket and holes as the old one. I had some problems lining up the top holes even though I marked them with the template, and measured them 5 times. I think the mounting bracket could have been an 1/8” lower than what it called for, again measured several times. It seems to work, time will tell if it lasts 25 years like the old one did. I don’t have high hopes as anything made now never lasts. I wasn’t sure about the top venting recirculating vent, as my old one vented out the front. I was worried that it would vent onto my wooden cabinets. It does blow air on to the cabinets, but I haven’t cooked enough under it to see if it will blow steam onto them.

    Great microwave

Posted by Lisa Carter on Sep 28th 2024

Needed a new over the range microwave to replace our over 20-year-old one. We already had a GE slate fridge and range so we got the GE slate microwave to match. Looks great. The slate color is so much better than stainless steel it doesn't show fingerprints. This microwave has a ton of features like sensor cooking, easy starting by 1 to 5 minutes in one touch, had 30 seconds button to start the microwave in one touch. It has steam cleaning. Event fan has four speed settings, surface light has two settings and you can replace the 50 watt halogen bulb with a G8 LED bulb from Amazon and it's way brighter and uses less energy and runs cooler than the halogen bulb. The interior is a little dark because it has the enamel surface to make it easier to clean, wish the bulb was brighter or had multiple in the interior. But overall great microwave.

Order it online, works well. Easy to install. Really powerful, so I have to adjust my standard time, the door opens easily.

    Very satisfied

Posted by Jennifer Powell on Sep 21st 2024

The price justifies the quality of the product. Easy to use and the sensor that identifies how big the object inside is works very well. I was surprised and pleased with the intensity of the 4 suction modes, although it is a little loud.
