Custom panel won't fit
Posted by Yvonne Lewis on Oct 25th 2024
I needed to replace my original GE dishwasher that had a custom panel on the front. According to the Best Buy salesperson, this ADA compliant model was the ONLY GE model that is designed for a custom panel. We had the unit installed and were surprised to find that our 30.25 inch panel was too long and hit the bottom of the frame which prevented it from opening up all the way. We had to have the bottom cut off to 28.25 inches and it looks terrible next to the the 30.25 inch cabinets. I just read another review that was the same as ours. Ge needs to address this issue now before another customer is extremely disappointed!!!

Original custom panel does not fit new dishwasher
Posted by Steven Johnson on Oct 13th 2024
Our 14 year old GE custom panel ready dishwasher was leaking water and the parts were no longer available (very pleased that it lasted 14 years). We replaced it with the latest GE custom panel ready dishwasher but the original custom made wood panel was about 2 inches too long at the bottom. With the dishwasher custom panel mounted to the dishwasher door, the door would not swing to a full open position without the bottom of the custom panel hitting the frame of the dishwasher. The original panel does not work on the new dishwasher (see attached pictures). Building a new matching door will be expensive and trying to cut down the original door will ruin the look of the existing cabinets. The design of the new dishwasher does not take into account those who are replacing older models that use the custom panels. In our case, this new custom panel dishwasher is not a direct replacement for an older model.

Quiet, quiet, quiet!

/this dishasher is so quiet that I thought I wasn't turning it on. The installers did an amazing job with attaching the cabinetry. Every thing was plumb and in line with the abutting cabinet doors. I would buy this again in a heartbeat! My kitchen is small being able to attach a cabinet door to the front makes it appear much more streamlined.
