4 Don’t buy from Best Buy!
Posted by Christine Pratt on Oct 18th 2024
Product is fine but would NOT recommend buying from Best Buy. We specifically bought an in-stock dryer but one month and about 10 service calls later, we still did not have a working dryer. Basically everything that could have gone wrong, did. It became almost comical how every single service call was not scheduled correctly. They sent the wrong team multiple times and showed up without the required parts despite confirming that they would. After a month of dealing with their Mickey Mouse Clubhouse customer service, I ultimately told them I did not want them to complete the installation and hired an appliance repair company to do the job. I spoke to a customer service manager about this afterwards and got the sense that this is just how they’re doing business now, so please don’t feel comforted if they respond with concern to this comment. We have purchased many large electronics from Best Buy including expensive TVs, laptops, and sound systems but now even coming to their website raises my blood pressure. We’ve told all of our friends about this comedy of errors and warned them that Best Buy is not what it once was.

5 Large capacity
Posted by Anita Carrillo on Oct 11th 2024
New technology & new features on this dryer. Also it is stackable. Much larger than my old dryer, but fits like the old one. Seems to dry more efficiently, will see if the Gas bill is higher or lower, it is rated energy efficient. Lint catcher tray feels very flimsy & cheap, plastic is not very thick. So far I like this dryer

Quiet and efficient, love the steam option, wifi setup was easy. Would have been happier if it was stacked on top of the washer

1 ridiculous customer service and 3rd party delivery
Posted by Karen Mcdowell on Oct 4th 2024
apologies for long review. (supposed to be ready to go on 6/3/24 installed finally on 6/10 1st visit- 3rd party installer (no Best Buy geek squad on site) was informed needed new gas valve. asked if we could install gas valve and and get service in afternoon, was told id get contacted by a Best Buy employee to schedule new time and service. (no call or response) went on chat to explain situation and was able to get a new appointment 4 days later. 2nd visit- second set of different 3rd party installers came, (geek squad on site) early visit around 8am. AGAIN separate installers told us there was another thing we were missing or unable to install because our vent wasn't sticking out far enough for them to use their only 1 option semi rigid kit. to clip on the hose. talked with geek squad supervisor (African American gentleman with glasses with some kind of facial hair. told us two things 1, he did apologize, and also offered compensation(did not give a total) for the trouble and the 3rd party proffesionalism. He told us he would call us by 2pm to provide a time frame for them to come out asap in the next morning (Saturday) - no call back or response. called customer service let to no where. (we were expecting a call or visit Saturday the next morning) by 10am Saturday , we have called customer service and they told us nothing was scheduled for our installation and that they could create a new appointment but wouldn't be until Tuesday. was then transferred to a customer server rep named Yvette who actually seemed genuine and like she cared in her voice. and told us the best she could do was set up an appointment for Tuesday and escalate it to her bosses to hope they could come out on monday. My wife and I both took days off of work so we could get this installed and it's been crazy how the lack of their customer service had been. my wife went in store on Saturday to complain and was given the run around by staff until she were able to talk to a manager. Francine whom she talked to was basically trying to tell my wife to talk to customer service online but we had been dealing with them for 6 days already, My wife had asked about compensation and she told her as a manager of the store couldn't do anything for her. if I go into a store to purchase a large purchase (to me anything over $500) and your telling me you can't help me at all after all these visits and (taking out of work hiring outside plumbers handymen to fix all issues to get the dryer installed under best buys compliances, and then just try to pass me on to customer service? do better. ive been a manager for years in different industries and if a customer has a big problem I don't just tell them to call an 800 number. rant over sorry 3rd visit came to install 3rd different set of 3rd party installers, came in fast barely said anything and after installed I had noticed scratches over both sides of my brand new dryer, I brought it up to his attention and he just said its paint, machines not damaged. and told us don't run dryer until he finished the dry cycle he turned on, left and (no geek squad on site) ** seriously?** called customer service before guy had left to complain, and told us we could return it and get a new one but have to set up a new appointment,, by this time I'm expecting bare minimum some compensation and a return with a new un scratched dryer. I asked for a manager for customer service and it took 45 on hold before the person I was talking with connected me. he basically apologized in a monotone voice and gave us return option or compensation option but if I did one I couldn't return it and it would void it. compensation before management was $52 compensation after management was offered at $150. basically understood that if you took the compensation we wouldn't be able to return dryer if we didn't like it solely based off performance. what a joke Best Buy and all of their customer service and in-house is for this delay. will post another review strictly off machine productivity. after

5 Great set, Terrible experience, buy it elsewhere.

I really like the dryer. Though it took forever to get it installed and communication with Best Buy is horrible... We went into the store and started looking at units. They didn't have this one in stock but the clerk (who said this wasn't his department but he'd help us anyway, that should have been a warning but I foolishly ignored the comment) said it was at another store and they could get it quickly, by quickly he meant in about 10 days on a Tuesday. Since they were a week faster than Lowes (my default go to for appliances) and we were in need of it quickly, we decided to buy it from Best Buy because of the quicker delivery... On Tuesday, I received a text saying the installer will be there between 7 AM and 7 PM. I stayed home all day waiting... at 6 PM i called, after 20 minutes i finally got a hold of someone, and they said I needed to wait until 10:30! No one ever came... Wednesday morning I got another text saying my install was delayed until the following Tuesday! Which is when Lowes would have been able to install it... I called and after 20 minutes finally was able to talk with a live person, who explained that the dryer didn't make it to the store, but somehow the 'system' thought the set had been loaded on the installers truck which is why the poor guy from India told me to wait until as late as 10:30... The next Tuesday rolls around and the installer shows up, hurray! He tells us he has to pur the washer and dry in on opposite sides because the door doesn't switch to open on the other end on the dryer (should have been another warning to me)... He installs the washer on the left and the dryer on the right and has to run the lines on opposite ends of the laundry room because he doesn't think you can switch the door around... I found the page in the manual after the install that shows how this is accomplished... I'll fix that later myself. He gets the washer and dryer installed, tells us he's tested them and off he goes (at around 9:00 PM). First load goes in the washer (we have 3 weeks worth of laundry to do at this point) and it works great. Load goes in the dryer and it doesn't work... it functions, just dosen't get hot. I look in the manual and learn that there is supposed to be a conversion for LP gas. Why am i the first to learn of this? I called the installer in the morning and he says it'll cost another $250 plus the $60 coverter, and he can be there the following Tuesday... My wife was livid. She called best buy customer service and after nearly 2 hours on the phone she finally go ahold of someone who ultimately got our installer pulled off the job because we weren't happy with the install (it wasn't his fault, sure he failed on the door thing but the gas conversion issue should have been handled on the front end of the deal by the clerk who normally doesn't work in that department! Install scheduled for the next Tuesday, monday night before I get a call from a different installer, he doesn't have the part so he will call me in the morning and let me know if he can find the part and come out and install it... No call until 1:00 PM from the install call center, they can't find the part so they are going to come out the following TUESDAY. What a nightmare... I called the original installer and he had the part. I asked if he could come out and he was here on Thursday, installed the part and off he went. I'd like to add that I tried multiple times to call the store, to no avail. What is the point of the store if i can't get service there? I will NOT EVER buy a major appliance from best buy. There is NO VALUE to buying from them. This has been the worst purchasing experience i've ever had in my 55 years on this planet, by far... and it started with a clerk who didn't know what he was doing trying to make a quick buck on a customer who was ready to spend money on the most expensive washer and dryer in a store in another state... Nice work GE on a great set, Best Buy you need to work on your customer service...

5 Amazing
Posted by Kimberly Raymond on Sep 22nd 2024
I love my new GE washer and dryer set! I bought the pedestals too and I’m so glad I did. The pedestals are actually tall enough to store fabric softener and laundry detergent containers upright. The washer is so much quieter and more efficient than my 13 yr old LG was. I love the smart dispense for the laundry detergent too. Just makes things easy. The vent to dry out the washer works great. I don’t have to prop the door open anymore and everything stays clean and fresh.

5 No wrinkles here
Posted by John Hunt on Sep 12th 2024
My new friend. This dryer does an amazing job of drying laundry in su ch a short amount of time. I also have the matching washer and I absolutely love the WiFi connection. You can set the dryer to washer link and the dryer will know what setting to use to dry your load!! You will get a 5 minute notification the load is almost done just as the washer does and you can get ready to be amazed at the lack of wrinkles in your clothes. They are soft even without softener added to the wash. I don’t use softener anymore on my towels and the boys were blown away. Super soft. The machine is very quiet and efficient. GE has Harry Pottered their machines!
