5 Great Combo Cleaner
Posted by Christopher Camacho on Dec 12th 2024
The new Roomba Combo 10 Max robot with an AutoWash dock is a remarkable product that is a great combo cleaner for mopping and vacuuming the floors. I had my first experience with the brand with a different combo cleaner and when I saw what this one had to offer, I was intrigued. I was impressed with the big AutoWash dock which holds the clean water bin, a dirty water bin, and a vacuum bag compartment. I really like the fact that via the iRobot app you can take advantage of many features with the new model to choose from 3 different modes: mop only, vacuum only, or mop and vacuum simultaneously. The new model had plenty of instructions included and references to use the iRobot app for step-by-step directions to get the combo up and running. The only items that had to be installed after arrival were the ramp for the AutoWash dock and the roller brush that is also a fundamental part of the internal cleaning process for the new model. The great part of the new dock is that it washes and dries the mop pad. It also refills the mopping tank, empties debris into the vacuum bag, and has its own self-cleaning cycle to keep everything running smoothly. I have used the new Roomba Combo 10 many times and it is still collecting data to set up its dirt detective feature which basically tracks the areas of your home that are usually in need of the most cleaning. It can prioritize the cleaning schedule for you once enough data has been collected in the application. I did notice that for the first couple of mapping runs that Roomba Combo 10 was able to identify the areas better as far as whether I had carpet or tile flooring in the map. It made it easier to set up my home map and identify the various rooms so it could know where it was ok to use the mopping feature. I am impressed with the technology in the new Combo and really like how clean my tile floors feel after it mops and cleans them. It has been a noticeable difference from the prior model but the fact that it can mop and vacuum without having to change out the bin on it is more convenient for me. I also like that it takes care of keeping the mop pad clean by washing and drying it so that I do not have to take care of it. This new iRobot Combo 10 Max robot has been a positive addition to keep my home clean and saving me time in the process. I am very happy with the improvements the company made with the new combo and that they provide great product support as well.

5 Ultimate Robot Vacuum & Mop for Spotless Floors
Posted by Alexa Macdonald on Dec 8th 2024
The iRobot Roomba Combo 10 Max Robot Vacuum and Mop is 'la crème de la crème'. It sits at the top of the automated tools available today that are designed to maintain well swept & mopped floors. This is my 7th robotic vacuum & my 3rd robotic mop. The Roomba Combo 10 is a serious tool that effectively cleans the floors. It makes all prior models seem like toys. The robot weighs 11 pounds & measures 13.3"L X 13.3"W X 3.4"H. The 14.4 Volt Lithium Ion Battery life is 2 Hours. Included with the Combo are: - Mop Pad - Filter - Dirt Disposal Bag - Docking Station INITIAL SETUP: Remove the vacuum & the base from the fully recyclable cardboard shipping container, remove a couple pieces of tape that hold the vacuum securely during shipping. Choose a location, place the base & plug it in. Press the ramp onto the front of the base. Fill the clear container with either water or a floor cleaning liquid (I prefer the blue Bona Hardwood Floor Cleaner). Install the iRobot app on your phone. Follow the instructions to connect to WiFi 2.4 Ghz. MAP YOUR HOUSE: Clear obstacles, such as wires, clutter, etc. from your floors. Open the app on your phone & select "Map it". The robot will go from room to room, discovering your house layout & will produce a whole house map. Next, identify the rooms with labels & move walls as necessary on the map for clarity. BUT HOW DOES IT CLEAN? In a word, AMAZING!! My wife walks barefoot throughout the house (we remove shoes in the house). She immediately noticed the hardwood floors felt smoother than ever after the robot had vacuumed! After it mopped & vacuumed, the floors had a beautiful sheen. You can start the cleaning process by Alexa, Google, or the app. It cleaned the areas I selected (about 80% of the 3200 square foot main floor) in 4 hours (it went back to the charging station after 2 hours & returned to finish). It pulled the dirt collected from the vacuum to the base massive dust collector with a cyclone blower. When finished, it cleaned the mop & air dried it! CONCLUSION: iRobot Roomba Combo 10 Max Robot Vacuum and Mop is a serious cleaning tool that has found its permanent home. Best cleaning tool we own!

5 Superb cleaning and easy maintenance
Posted by Justin Cobb on Dec 6th 2024
I have owned and used many robot vacuums over the years. iRobot seems to be the best working robots that I've used. The Combo 10 Max is replacing my Roomba i6 that I've had for a couple of years now. The i6 will likely be moved upstairs, as it's still a great vacuum. The 10 Max does so many things to improve on the previous experiences I've had with all robot vacuums. From ease of maintenance to the quality of cleaning that it does. - Setup - The initial setup of the 10 Max was pretty painless and straightforward. I would say the only thing that was difficult was the first initial steps. I wasn't quite sure where to start. I think the reason that it was slightly confusing at first was since I already owned an iRobot vacuum. If I didn't, I'm positive the setup process would have guided me better. In my case, when opening the box and scanning the QR code, it opened the iRobot app to get me started, but since I already had a robot setup in the app, I wasn't really walked through the process. I had to sort of figure out how to get the robot and dock setup before I was instructed on how to do so through the app. Again, this was not difficult, and there is a printed manual further in the box that helps get you started. Once I had the dock and robot on the dock, then began the process of adding the robot to the app, the app walked me through the rest of the process, and it was very easy to get up and running. The app will guide you through how to fill the water tank, install the ramp and cleaning roller and removing any stickers that were put in place for shipping purposes. - App - While some of this is technically part of the setup process, I the app itself is excellent. Coming from owning another iRobot product, the features and helpful tips in the app are useful and very welcome without ever feeling overwhelming. As part of the initial setup, you're asked to do a scan of your house for the robot to discover where it will be able to go, and what surfaces it will detect (flooring or carpet). I had a map with my previous robot, but I wanted to create a new one with the Max to see how it would do, and to make sure it was as accurate as possible. The mapping run did an excellent job of finding rooms and the different surface types, whether they be carpet, rugs or flooring. It also did a good job of attempting to name the rooms appropriately. Editing the map afterwards was easy too. Allowing you to more easily name and section off areas you don't want the robot to go to. This room naming is also useful for working with your preferred smart home setup. In my case, I use Google Home and being able to tell the Max to "clean the kitchen" if there is a spill or something is very easy to do, and very useful. The app is also useful for showing what the robot is doing at any given time. You can see what room it is currently in, if it's returning to the dock, charging, or drying the mop. - Cleaning - While all the vacuums I've owned have done a decent job of cleaning, they often would have trouble navigating my house. The previous iRobot that I had did the best job of never getting stuck. The 10 Max takes this even further. Along with the map and the smarts that iRobot has given the Max, the new camera on the front for further obstacle avoidance is a great addition. It will take pictures of obstacles during its cleaning run and ask you if they're temporary obstacles and lets you review any potential items that may hinder its ability to clean. It really helps to further improve the quality of the clean that the robot is able to do. Then, the probably headlining feature of the 10 Max is the mopping. It does an excellent job of mopping the floors and will even take extra time on a spot if it feels like it needs additional cleaning time. I also really like that the mop is stored on the top of the robot when it's not in use. This gives further confidence that it won't track any dirt or anything onto carpet from the mop head. The robot has done an excellent job cleaning our hard wood floors, tile, and carpet throughout our house. In fact, there hasn't been a single issue so far. It vacuums, mops where appropriate, empties the bin, cleans the mop head and does it all without any assistance from me. - The Dock - I thought I'd take a moment to talk about the dock itself too. It is a bit larger than you may expect, but it has a sleek design and looks nice. It has a nice cable management spot on the back, so you can wind up the cord to keep it butted up against the wall without any trouble. It has indicators for clean and dirty water levels, as well as the dust bin. It is easy to identify any maintenance you need to perform. There's a little leather pull strap that is used to open the door to remove the bins as necessary. A couple things of note though, when the vacuum is emptying itself in the bin, it can be fairly loud. It only takes a moment, but it's something to be mindful of. After mopping, the dock will dry the mop head. There will be a continuous humming noise coming from the dock for a while as it dries the mop. It's not overly loud, but if you're close to it, it may be something to be mindful of as well. - Pros - Excellent cleaning capabilities, very easy to maintain and use, great app and smart home features - Cons - The dock is a decent-sized footprint, mop drying takes some time and has an audible humming as it dries

Terrible product. App is bad. Programming is bad. Obstacle detection is terrible. It stumbles around like a blind drunken turtle. AND it's immensely unreliable. Second day, sensor on bin broke, contacted IRobot, they sent the wrong replacement part after two weeks, sent a replacement robot, after an hour on the phone with them (just asked for the correct part), second robots mop arm was faulty. DO. NOT. BUY. Thank you best buy for making the return process easy.

5 No more dust bunnies
Posted by Peggy Navarro on Dec 3rd 2024
I was a little skeptical about buying this model since I had issues with the previous iRobot I had. I’m really glad I took a chance on this purchase, I have 3 cats and 3 dogs who constantly shed this model has really good suction power and so far, it hasn’t gotten stuck, it doesn't have any issues docking on the base., and the transition between carpet, hardwood, and tile are seamless. The mopping power isn’t amazing but it does keep my floors tidy until I can give the floors a good scrub. I am VERY happy with my purchase.

5 Amazing machine that does it all!
Posted by Mary Gonzalez on Nov 23rd 2024
iRobot Roomba Combo 10 Max Robot + AutoWash Dock Summary: Amazing machine that does it all! Use: I have a four-story townhome. We have a corgi and a miniature schnauzer. It takes a lot of effort to keep the home clean. The dogs tracking dirt, grass, mulch, and all kind of other stuff. We have used many vacuums from large ball swivel types to several lightweight cordless, and also a few other robotic vacuums. The handheld ones are great for deep cleans and spot cleaning, but in order to keep the house the tidiest, we use robots to clean daily. We have chosen iRobot because their technology is great, innovative, and the ecosystem is vast. We deployed the Roomba 10 Max onto our main floor. It sees the most traffic and is where the doggies pen resides. The unit's built-in reservoirs for clean water and wastewater AND the vacuum emptying bin allow the MAX to keep working until the job is done without a need to fill or empty the robot's bin repeatedly. The unit is housed in a garage that protects the robot from being bumped off of the dock. I'm glad someone finally thought of this! We used a combination of a separate iRobot mop and Roomba to clean the main floor before getting the MAX. It was a pain having to change out and emptying bins out in between each and every use. We noticed that if we didn't tell it to continue scheduled cleanings even while "full" that the units would leave rolls of dog hair and other debris. With the MAX, the Roomba can empty in the middle of a job and return to it whenever it needs. The "garage" empty cycle is so effective that the Roomba can run dozens of times before having to replace the waste filter. The empty cycle can be pretty loud, but the time required is short and it is a small price to pay for the convenience. I just schedule cleanings for periods where the noise won't be a concern. Pros: * Capacity. The unit's "garage" reservoirs allow the Roomba to perform several full cleaning jobs without itself needing to be emptied. This makes operating the Roomba even easier than before. * Great Looks. The "garage" is pretty large, but it is also thoughtfully designed! It makes fantastic use of every cubic inch. * Performance. The MAX performs marvelously. The standard features of a side sweeper, double rollers, and spatial sensors work as great as they do on other models. Though it is the mapping and the mechanized mop that lowers and retracts takes this unit to another level. * Mechanized Mop! The mop attachment is much more convenient now. On other models, you have to remove the fabric attachment in between dry and wet runs (I own the iRobot Mop, as well). On the MAX, however, the mop moves down from the top of the unit while mopping and returns to its position when done. The unit even features a drying phase that will dry the mopping pad in between uses. While not exactly quiet, it isn't loud enough to be a bother - but it does take a LOOOOONG time to complete. You can turn this feature off if you want frequent (intra-daily) cleanings. * Setup. Setting up the unit is straight forward. Just download the app and scan the QR code on the label included in the packaging. I did try the proximity setup but found the QR code to be faster. Use the app to map your home and then configure rooms. The unit tries to identify rooms for you. But you can change the labels and demarcations as needed. You can configure schedules to run for all rooms, or specific ones. You can disable each schedule as needed, as well. * Mapping. The mapping functionality is superb. I've posted a picture of our main floor. The camera offers opportunities for you to train your Roomba by helping it identify which objects are permanent, or temporary obstructions. It does a pretty darned good job at identifying obstacles, too. Cons: * Clearance. This is barely a con, but it is worth noting: we have stained wooden trim for our banisters. The bases of the banisters are raised and also stained. The Roomba units run over them, and, over time, they wear at the stain and eventually expose the wood. We went in with stain pens, but if you have a similar setup, you may face a similar issue. I wish the bottom fronts of the unit had some kind of softer material that wouldn't scratch raised surfaces/trim. As far as robot vacuums are concerned, there is no doubt that iRobot are on the high end of the pricing spectrum. But I feel that if you're going to splurge on lifestyle convenience hardware, the Roomba family of vacuums should be one of the things you splurge on. They definitely earn their keep and because their ecosystem is so vast, finding accessories and consumables for them is quite easy. You absolutely get what you pay for.

4 Gets better with age

The iRobot Roomba Combo 10 Max Robot + AutoWash Dock (X085020) is one impressive machine. The main floor I tested the Roomba on is a mixture of ceramic tile, area rugs and medium pile carpet. I know most people do not like to read long reviews so I will focus on my experiences and not spend too much time on product details you can read for yourself on the product page. You get some replacement wear items like a vacuum bag, a wash pad and a replacement floor brush. Unboxing and set up – this was straight forward. When you open the box, you will see a QR code. Scan this QR code to set up the Roomba app on your phone. DO NOT DO THIS FIRST like I did. The best way to complete the setup is the following: -

5 Incredible next generation floor cleaning
Posted by Nathan Smith on Nov 18th 2024
We have been using robot floor vacuums and mops in our house for the better part of a decade and rely on them to do the dirty work in between running an in-home business with heavy traffic as well as managing our little ones and their friends we commonly refer to as tornadoes. So much, in fact, that we have three robot vacuum and mop combo machines spread throughout separate areas of our house. Unfortunately, our oldest one has been on the fritz and we were in the market for an upgrade that could handle the amount of traffic our house gets on any given day. That’s when we came across the latest iRobot Roomba Combo 10 vacuum and mop with an AutoWash dock that appeared to meet all of our needs in the area we wanted it for which was the highest traffic area. Being that our last couple robot vacuum/mop combos were a couple years old, I was excited to see what the latest technology had to offer for our space that includes mostly hard floor as well as a large area rug. For comparison on our other robot models, to switch between vacuuming and moping, we would have to manually switch between parts for the robot to mop either the hardwood and tile or focus on just vacuuming and, honestly, it’s kind of a hassle to remember to switch them out as well as ensuring the mopping attachment still had liquid available in the small reservoir. With the new iRobot Roomba combo 10, all these issues are no more as there is no need to swap out parts or constantly fill up the cleaning solution reservoir and I will explain why. Setting up the vacuum/mop and auto-wash dock, which was relatively larger than the dock we were used to in our previous robots, was reasonably self-explanatory and the iRobot smartphone application walked me through the process step-by-step including making a few attachments to the robot and dock and filling up the large water reservoir in the dock used for mopping. After the robot and dock were synced with the app and did an update via Wi-Fi, the robot remained in the dock for a full charge in preparation for its initial proprietary mapping which automatically labels room types. The mapping process took about 30 minutes for the area we have the robot located. The robot uses several sensors to map out the walls, doors, chair and table legs, floor type, etc. It was recommended to ensure there was enough light in those areas using open windows and lights, however, the robot also has a built-in headlight on the front which helps with that as well. I was surprised at how much faster the Roomba was in comparison to our other robots and maneuvered efficiently between tight spaces, corners and walls including around chair and table legs which is sometimes a challenge for robots. The only issue we experienced was trying to roll over one of the highchair leg support rails where it would sometimes get stuck and I would have to manually pick it up to continue the job. One of the most impressive features I witnessed was the Roomba’s ability to transform from a vacuum to a mop when going between hard floors and rugs or carpets. The Roomba stops then transforms by moving the mopping pad from the top of the robot to the underneath using a lever style contraption. The Roomba will also ensure the mopping pad is wet before starting to mop so you don’t have one area that isn’t as clean as the rest of the floor. Enabling the SmartScrub option via the iRobot app ensures the areas slated for cleaning get a deeper clean by applying consistent pressure and scrubbing back-and-forth like you would by mopping manually. Using its built-in Dirt Detect technology, the camera on the front of the Roomba can recognize and pinpoint dirt in front of it and ensure it is cleaned properly by making repeated passes before moving on in its clean cycle. After vacuuming and mopping, the AutoWash dock empties the debris from vacuuming into the enclosed bag, washes and dries the mopping pad, empties the dirty water and fills the water reservoir in the robot in preparation for its next cleaning job. After a few cleans, the Roomba predicts what areas need to be cleaned more based on the debris it cleaned up and prioritize those areas in future cleaning. Using the smartphone application, I was able to set a cleaning schedule, customize rooms and areas, as well as tinker with many of the other features the Roomba has to offer. After using the new iRobot Roomba Combo 10 for several days, I was extremely impressed with all the new technology and ability to clean given the amount of traffic we have in our house and would recommend it to anyone in the market for a high-end robot that ensures the job is done right with few issues.

4 Added a Robot to the family.
Posted by Troy Kirby on Nov 8th 2024
This is my second robo vacuum. This robo vac comes in a box ready to go with very minimal physical adjustments to get started. There is very few written instructions to get started. Everything is online and can be found with a QR code. I struggled for a good while to get the robot to sync with the wifi. After watching alot of videos I found that this robo vac is not compatible with 5GHz wifi. I had to do research on how to downgrade my wifi to 2.4GHz to connect it. An electronic this advanced shouldnt be that hard to connect to wifi. Now about the robot itself, it cleans and mops like it's supposed to. It first wonders around the rooms to "map" out it's work area. The app adds more features like clean intensity, and even schedule work times. The home unit does all the hard work of refilling the robo unit with water and collecting dirty water and vacuumed dirt. It's very interesting to watch the robo vac work. You can hear the suction of the dirty water and vacuumed dirt. You even get to name your robo vac. This gives it a personal touch. Overall the robo vac does what it's intended to do once you go through the trouble of connecting it to Wi-Fi.
