iRobot - Roomba j7+ (7550) Wi-Fi Connected Robot Vacuum with Automatic Dirt Disposal - Graphite

Bottom line: The physical machine broke down after 8-9 months. The base has intermittent but silent failures to charge the vacuume. And the app is miserable to use and its making feature constantly prevents the entire system from performing its core mission. After almost a year, unit powers on, but the app says it "can't find the battery" so it won't clean. Rebooting the unit doesn't help. Calling support... The base is decent when it works, but when the vacuum parks itself on the base to charge it tends to not get a good connection to the charge points and the next day won't vacuume because it's dead. There will be no notification or error message to you, you will discover this because your house is suddenly just kind of dirty after a few days and you wonder why. The app... Is awful. It builds a map automatically. You can edit the map manually to a point, but it's not simple or easy and limited on what you can change. Every time the vacuume runs it will update the map automatically. If you have your map in a good state where all of the rooms are accurate and accounted for there is no way to stop the automatic updating. So I'm my case every single day, the vacuum will "discover" a new room; however it "discovered" that same room yesterday too. And when it discovered the new room, it deleted the room names you use to tell it what room to go vacuume and deleted scheduled clean jobs. The end effect is that the vacuum will just stop cleaning without telling you and you and you eventually figure it out because the room is just unusually dusty or something. When it messes up your map, you can go manually replace the map with the previous map that was correct, but you have to look at every days cleaning history to find ita good map. AND when you do, it still will have deleted the room labels and deleted any scheduled jobs for that room. You then have to recreate all of your scheduled clean jobs AGAIN. This is all kind of funny because the app is constantly nagging you to tell iRobot how your Roomba did on the last job. (Also no way to turn this nagging off without just disabling all notifications and missing a notification you actually care about.) You can tell them how it did, they aren't listening.

I love it!!! We were using it for almost 2 years and is working great. Great quality.

Overall, great vacuum! It is a bit on the loud side, but the performance is on point!

This iRobot is awesome. We have had a couple in the past, this one is great in that I do not have to touch it for a while. I have had it 2 weeks and have only had to get it if it gets a sock or something hung up. I have not had to empty the bag as of yet and it runs daily with 2 boxer dogs in the house.

Although best rumba thus far. 5 reasons why i can't give it 5 stars. When I send it to a cleaning zone to vacuum the J7 doesn't have the ability to simply navigate its way using the fastest route. In fact it bounces around as if it hasn't a clue like a drunk looking for his bed in the middle of the night. Half the time it just gives up! 2nd the suction power seems to be subpar compared to the S9 3RD we need the ability to train it on items on the floor and obstacles. It won't run over dog food! It has major issues with rugs with fringes. Wish it would just push through vs giving up. Should allow us to program for rugs. 4th why not give us the ability to give it routes to speed up navigation. 5th it randomly stops saying bin is full... why not just empty? Sometimes i find it dead because something is stuck. Why not just go back to base so it can be charging and i don't have to search for a dead rumba under a couch. I will say it's amazing considering it has run consistently for days.

I love this robot. It’s super easy to set up. The robot makes a map of your house. Each room you want cleaned and the ones you don’t. It takes pictures of the obstacles each cleaning session and sends them to you. The one drawback is bags. But it’s self emptying and self contained. I’d give it 10 stars if I could! It is a little loud but not any louder then an upright vacuum.

This magic on wheels is a literal life savior for my family. It’s efficient, compact and sleek and lets me spend my time and energy into more important things - my family, friends and me.
