2 defective remote control

Today I received the product, but unfortunately, the remote control seems to be defective. I replaced the battery with a new one but it still doesn't work. I need to return the entire unit to get the remote fixed, which is frustrating.

Great fan for my room and I like that it swings back and forth to cool room faster. It even has a timer which is convenient to set and go.
