    Another good Maytag product

Posted by Robyn Fletcher on Oct 29th 2024

I purchased this model after my washer went dead after 13 years (also a Maytag). I actually purchased the matching dryer and stacked them. They are both working wonderfully and I couldn’t ask for better machines.

    An absolute nightmare

Posted by Nicholas Ray on Oct 19th 2024

This was the worst washer and dryer set I have ever encountered. First, the panel on the door came broken. It fell off the night we got it. When we had someone come to look at it BB said it was defective. Then, the door locked. With clothes inside. Water sitting inside. This happened Tuesday after installation - not even a full week at this point. The washer would not reset no matter what I did and the clothes were stuck inside in soaking wet water. To make a long story short, there was a lot of back and forth with BB over what to do. I was asked to make an appointment with Maytag for them to come open the door. I called them and made the appointment for that Friday morning. I contacted BB again and they said that they can actually come open the door instead. This was Wednesday. So I set an appointment with them for Friday too. Thursday comes, and I call BB and ask them to confirm no matter what they’d get the clothes out and the door open. The clothes had been in there for 48 hours and were going to mold. They were sitting in still water. They guarantee no matter what they’ll get the clothes out and tell me to cancel with Maytag. This entire time the washer still has not unlocked. I call Maytag, cancel with them. Then Friday comes. Someone comes out and his partner sits in the car while it’s running. He asks if we tried unplugging and all the other usual stuff to reset. I say yes and he goes to the washer to check it out. He’s YouTubing how to open it and then a loud banging and cracking noise comes from the laundry room. He walks out of the room and says he is going to get his partner because he’s dealt with it before and can help. He goes outside and gets in the car and leaves. I go to look at the washer to see he halfway cracked it open. It was scratched up and the plastic cracked and water was slowly leaking from the bottom of the door. It was trickling along the floor. My water heater and furnace are directly next to the washer and dryer. So the water started to run under those appliances. I call BB and demand someone come out or permission to break the door off. I’m slowly mopping the water up and BB refused to help and told me wait for a call back in 24-48 hours. UNBELIEVABLE. I hang up out of frustration and continue cleaning the mess. I grab the washer door to assess what he’d done. When I grabbbed the door it broke open and all the water came rushing out. The BB guy had broken the door and caused leaking water then got in his car and left. No explanation, no heads up. I go to open the door and then all the water rushed out and went underneath the water heater and furnace. I try to close the door and it no longer will close. I can see scratches and dents from when the guy was banging on the door. I wasn’t watching what he was doing, all I was hearing was the noise from the door. I didn’t think I had to watch him considering this is his job. The entire time the door was still locked. Even though the door was broken open. The locked was still on. Water was sitting in the tub. There was close to $600 worth of clothes in that washer. Work clothes, lounge, expensive items. I returned the set and will never buy another Maytag again. They’re supposed to be a tried and true brand. Reliable. Your mother’s mother’s mother had that brand. Yet this was the worst experience I’ve ever had with any appliance or device in my whole life. 2 out of 5 Best Buy people I spoke to over this issue were actually nice and helpful. The other 3 were misinformed, unreliable, and not helpful. Greatly beware this set and honestly BB customer service. This was an awful experience and makes me regret opening a credit line to buy appliances with BB.

Godzilla is happy with this Maytag washer!

Posted by Zachary Ryan on Oct 16th 2024

Godzilla owned a Maytag for ten years and decided to replace it with a newer model. He ordered it from Best Buy because they had it for a good price and the Geek Squad was able to deliver it sooner than one of the big box stores. They did a great job with delivery and installation, and in no time Godzilla was washing clothes in the new washer. He found that they were clean, and since the washer was properly leveled they machine did not wobble too excessively or move across the floor. The king of the monsters was pleased with his purchase. He put on a new, clean shirt and enjoyed the rest of the day.
