NewAir - 50-lb Portable Ice Maker - Stainless Steel

We purchased this ice machine as a temporary solution for ice while our office kitchen is being remodled. It has been fabulous! With our old industrial ice maker we would constantly run out of ice. Since purchasing this we have not run out of ice once! Which is a huge feat considering we have over 100 people that use it though out the day. It's user friendly and has exceeded all of our expectations.

This ice maker makes ice quick. It fill our ice bin in less the 1 hr. The only down fall is that it does not keep the ice cold.

Bought this to help with the lack of ice in our expensive refrigerator. It works well but the ice is not solid so it does melt fast. It is also pretty loud compared to our last ice maker but it does keep up with our large family.

When the icemaker in our refrigerator died we found it would be expensive & difficult and difficult to replace. Then we looked at standalone ice makers and found this unit. It is quiet, simple, and makes lots of Ice very fast, way more than our refrigerator ever did. We now fit 3X the ice in the same space in the refrigerator freezer. We also take this outdoors whenever needed. We have absolutely no regrets.

Overall this is ONE GREAT ICE MACHINE!. Easy to operate. Makes enough ice in one day to last 4-5 days, for Hubby and I. Love the fact that it holds a gallon of water at a time and makes the gallon baggie of ice. I put back enough ice in the freezer for a 4th. of July cookout. We used a large open top drink container which I put our drinks and ice in and still had plenty of ice for glasses also. (We had 6 people.) The only thing bad about it so far has been that the tiny plug for the drain got lost the first time I used it. I put plumbers tape around the threads of the cap to stop it from leaking, so be prepared just in case.

Love this machine. Have ice chomping addiction—have not lost a tooth yet, second machine but going on year 5 now. 1st machine lasted just over 3 years. Does run 24-7. Yes it should last longer, but tray made of plastic and it will get caught on ice and eventually break.

Bought this for our camper. Works nice. Very heavy!

Overall, very pleased with this purchase. It makes a great amt of ice in a short time. It touts a self clean feature. This means you have to measure 1c vinegar and 1 c water to run through unit in self clean mode. You must then run a normal batch of ice through to get rid of the vinegar smell/taste. To me, that doesn't completely seem "self cleaning" bc I still have to go a considerable amount of effort. Like I said though, we are glad we made the purchase bc it does what it's supposed to do: make ice.

Does my family of four great and along with a couple employees ( we supply water bottles and soda pop in a 100+ qt cooler and fill with ice each day) The basket on the ice machine isn't very big therefore I keep dumping the ice into a tubberware bin in the freezer to get enough ice for the end of each day for all our coolers.
