Nearly Flawless and Pricey Countertop Oven

Posted by Jason Wheeler on Oct 25th 2024

Overall: The Ninja Double Stack XL Countertop Oven & Air Fryer with Pro Cook System does a lot of different things well for a countertop oven. The device is easy to use, has 2 separate ovens that can be used independently of one another, and is versatile enough to use as a toaster or a full-fledged oven. Cleaning it isn’t the easiest, since only one crumb tray is included for the top portion of the oven. That’s just a small pet peeve in an otherwise list of great things this oven provides, though. I toasted a variety of breads and bagels, all coming out crisp at the level 3 setting. I cooked a frozen pizza in the bottom oven and that also came out great. These are pretty basic items, so I went ahead and tried air frying some wings in the bottom oven with great success as well. Frozen chicken was no biggie either on “air fry”. You name it and I cooked it in this thing. Vegetables, tater tots, hot pockets, french fries, steak kabobs, etc. Everything turned out great, no matter what I tried cooking. I also tried the meat thermometer and set my desired temp. Once you plug it in, you just stick it in your meat and let the oven do its thing. Once the temperature you choose is reached, the oven shuts itself off. Pretty easy and convenient, as I don’t have to worry about checking my meat by pulling it out of the oven 12 times while it’s trying to cook. The Ninja Double Stack XL is a cool kitchen gadget, but it takes up a lot of counter space and costs a pretty penny. If you've got the room and the cash to spare, go for it! Here’s a quick pros and cons list to help you decide if this oven is for you. Pros: Large capacity: Can cook two foods at once, making it great for families or entertaining Versatile: Can cook a variety of foods, from pizza and wings to roasted vegetables and baked goods Easy to operate: Intuitive controls and preset cooking programs make it easy to get started and cook common foods Cooks food quickly and evenly: Powerful heating elements and air fryer technology ensure that food cooks quickly and evenly. Even my bagels came out looking great Sleek design: The stainless steel is a classic design that will fit in with any kitchen decor Built in detachable thermostat: You can cook meat to a certain temperature or doneness with the included thermostat. The oven will just shut off automatically once the criteria you select has been met Cons: Expensive: This is a luxury product, priced as such Can be difficult to clean: A crumb tray for the bottom oven would have been nice

    Review for Promo

Posted by Robin Brown on Oct 23rd 2024

Certainly! Here’s a sample review for a toaster oven: Review of the [Model Name] Toaster Oven If you’re in the market for a versatile kitchen appliance that’s reliable, efficient, and packed with features, the [Model Name] toaster oven might just be what you need. This toaster oven has quickly become one of my favorite appliances for its blend of functionality and convenience. Design and Build Quality The [Model Name] boasts a sleek, modern design that fits well in any kitchen. Its stainless steel exterior not only looks attractive but is also easy to clean, which is a major plus for those who want to keep their kitchen looking pristine. The controls are intuitive, with a clear digital display and easy-to-use dials or buttons that make setting cooking times and temperatures a breeze. The size is just right — large enough to fit a 12-inch pizza or a small chicken, but not so big that it takes up excessive counter space. Performance One of the standout features of the [Model Name] is how evenly it cooks. Whether I’m toasting bread, baking cookies, or roasting vegetables, the even heat distribution ensures that food comes out consistently perfect every time. The convection setting is particularly useful, circulating hot air for faster and more even cooking. The toaster oven heats up quickly and reaches the desired temperature without any fuss. Features This toaster oven comes with a range of settings that cater to various cooking needs: bake, broil, toast, reheat, and even air fry (if applicable). The air fry function is surprisingly effective, delivering crispy results that rival those from a traditional air fryer. The timer and automatic shut-off are nice touches that help prevent overcooking and provide peace of mind if you’re multitasking in the kitchen. Ease of Use Using the [Model Name] is simple. The user interface is straightforward, making it easy to set the desired cooking time and temperature. The oven light is bright enough to easily check on your food without opening the door and disrupting the cooking cycle. The interior is spacious and has a non-stick coating that makes cleaning a lot easier than expected, although a quick wipe with a damp cloth is usually all that’s needed after most uses. Cons While the [Model Name] is fantastic overall, there are a few minor drawbacks. The control panel can sometimes be a bit too sensitive, and touching the buttons may register multiple presses, so it’s best to be gentle when selecting your settings. The toaster oven also does get warm on the exterior, so it’s wise to be cautious and keep it away from the edge of the counter where small hands might reach. Final Verdict Overall, the [Model Name] toaster oven is an excellent addition to any kitchen. With its blend of sleek design, impressive cooking capabilities, and user-friendly interface, it’s a worthwhile investment for those who want an all-in-one appliance that can handle a variety of cooking tasks. Whether you’re reheating leftovers or making a full dinner, this toaster oven delivers. Rating: ????½ (4.5/5) Would you like me to make this review more specific to a particular brand or model?

Mastering Meals with the Ninja Double Stack XL!!!

Posted by Brandi Blevins on Oct 22nd 2024

I've been using the Ninja Double Stack XL Countertop Oven & Air Fryer for a few days now, and so far I am impressed by what I have seen so far. The dual-level cooking system is truly amazing and a time saver, allowing me to prepare multiple dishes at once without having to juggle between different appliances. For instance, I can air fry chicken wings on one level while baking potatoes on the other, saving both time and effort. The Pro Cook System is incredibly reliable, taking the guesswork out of cooking and ensuring perfectly cooked meals every time. Whether I'm air frying, baking, roasting, or grilling, the results are consistently exceptional. The food comes out crispy, juicy, and full of flavor. One of my favorite features is its user-friendliness. The controls are intuitive and easy to use, even for those with little cooking experience. The dual oven also comes with a magnetically attachable temperature probe, so its always there. The flexdoor feature creates two independent ovens, so you can access just the top oven for quick snacks and meals, or open the full door to use both ovens. Additionally, its sleek design and modern aesthetic make it a stylish addition to any kitchen. If you're in the market for a powerful, multifunctional appliance that can handle a variety of cooking tasks, I highly recommend the Ninja Double Stack XL. It's a fantastic investment for anyone looking to make meal prep easier, faster and more enjoyable.

    Versatile oven loaded with features

Posted by Ethan Gilbert on Oct 18th 2024

Years ago, my favorite oven had a smaller, thinner oven (like a pizza oven) on top with a larger, more standard-sized oven below. We sold that oven in a house sale and have never had anything like that again. Since then, we’ve become very dependent on a countertop oven that sees more usage than our regular oven by far. Our existing countertop oven has been great, but Ninja just came out with an update to their oven that combines the best of all of these: a dual countertop oven with loads of features! **Size** Since you’re probably putting this under your kitchen cabinets, you’ll want to know the size of this oven. Ninja lists the dimensions as follows: 18.6 in L x 16.39 in W x 13.26 in H. By comparison, my previous oven was 11.6” tall, so the Ninja Double Stack adds a small second oven while not giving up much on the height of the main oven, and only adds about 1.25” to the height! For me, this was a big deal, since if it won’t fit under my cabinets, it has no place in my kitchen. The top oven compartment is ideal for baking small items such as pizza or dinner rolls or a tray of vegetables. It is definitely meant for those kinds of things, so keep that in mind. Trying to put taller items in there will result in the food touching the top and getting burned. **Controls** Ninja has done a good job of not overloading the panel with controls. Both ovens have their own time and temp buttons, and there is a dial for selecting things like cooking programs. There are 3 additional buttons for the thermometer: preset, doneness and manual. More on these later. There is one additional control, for turning on the Smart Finish feature, which allows the oven to time the completion of top and bottom ovens so that they’ll finish at the same time. **Features** The Ninja Doublestack XL includes 12 cooking programs: Bake, Broil, Reheat, Keep Warm, Toast, Bagel, Air Fry, Conv.Bake, Pizza, Air Roast, Whole Roast, and Dehydrate. These are selected by turning the dial to highlight your choice in the program list. One thing I think is pretty striking is the display. Unlike most competing ovens, there is no screen on the face of the oven. Instead, information shines through the brushed nickel finish! Before I turned it on, I assumed there was no display, but couldn’t imagine how I would know what choices to make (would it be a series of beeps?). This is a great design decision and contributes to the sleek, modern look of the oven. New for this year is a plug-in thermometer. The oven features a small port on the side (like a headphone jack) where you can plug in the thermometer. Insert the thermometer in the middle of the meat, then use the thermometer preset button to choose fish, beef, chicken or pork. You can also choose a small or large size (bottom oven only), and a doneness level (rare, medium, etc.). The choice of doneness level determines the internal temperature setting for the meat. The chicken setting only allows one temperature—165 degrees. The manual button allows you to set a temperature to whatever you like. There is also a button labeled “Smart Finish” which ensures that both ovens finish at the same time. Details about this in the next section. **Performance** I’ve been using my Ninja Foodi grill to air fry French fries, so I wanted to see how the Double Stack would compare. Using the included air fry basket, I cooked up a batch of French fries that were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, easily as good as the results I get from the Foodi, but with less clean-up. Next, we prepared some meals using the thermometer. We dialed in the settings as described above for the top oven, then chose the settings for the bottom oven. The last step was pressing the Smart Finish button and pressing start. The oven with the shorter cooking time was automatically placed on hold while preheating the other oven. A progress bar showed how things were going on the bottom oven, while the internal temperature of the meat was shown for the top oven. Smart Finish ensured that both ovens finished at the same time—super convenient! More impressive was that if I made a change to the settings for either oven during the cook, it would recalculate the total time and adjust accordingly. After turning out multiple successful meals this way, we may just cook this way all the time. Random thoughts: using the top oven as a toaster also worked well, but it does take some experimentation to find settings to your liking. One advantage a regular toaster has is that it’s easier to get items out that are not laying on an oven rack. Preheating time in the top oven was only 3 minutes to reach 350 degrees, much faster than our large traditional oven. Convection airflow is noticeable in this oven, which I appreciated, coming from a previous oven that I was never sure actually circulated any air. This makes for speedy convection baking times. **Negatives** There really aren’t many, but I’ll mention two. A roast tray is not included, but really should have been, since that’s a needed accessory for roasting a whole chicken. The handle on the door, while being very attractive, is actually too big. When the door is laid down to pull food out of the oven, the handle prevents the door from laying flat, and that can make it a bit tricky to navigate the hot surfaces. **Conclusion** The Ninja Double Stack XL oven is an upgrade in multiple ways, and I’m very glad to have gotten it. We’ve had several Ninja kitchen accessories, and they’ve done it again with this one. Like all our other Ninja accessories, the Double Stack oven is built superbly and includes a plethora of thoughtful features that make it a joy to use. The only thing limiting our usage is when we need to cook a very large dish, but thankfully that’s rare. If you’re looking for a countertop oven, I’m not sure you can do better than this versatile model.

replaces toaster and oven while adding more uses

Posted by Todd Myers on Oct 11th 2024

The Ninja Double Stack XL Countertop looks huge on arrival. when i first got it, i thought it'd be way too big to fit on my counter top and much too bulky to replace my current toaster oven. As can be seen in the pictures, despite looking quite different in size, it isn't much different. width was pretty much the same, all i lost was height, but I'm not putting stuff on top anyways (and you wouldn't want to anyways because of how hot the top gets) This air fryer/oven combo is pretty sweet. it looks really sleek and you can either open just top the top door when using the top or both if you are needing the bottom section. the buttons have a nice feel to them that don't feel cheap. Despite having rubber feet, it slides around quite a bit on my counter top. i ended up getting a mat that also helps protect the countertop from heat in addition to preventing slippage. Because the door is so sturdy, without the mat, when i try to pull down the door to open the oven, it usually just pulls the oven forward. User interface is pretty straight forward but a bit of a curve. you press top or bottom to turn the machine on and then can just twist the dial to what setting you want and push. from there you can tweak temp and time by selecting the button then using the dial to adjust. press the dial to confirm choice. Temp / Time also doubles as toast darkness and number of slices. these will take some trial and error to get right for how you like your toast. default was 3 shade 4 slices. i had to go down to shade 2, 2 slices, even when using 4 slices because it was a little too darkened for my liking. would suggest going just lower than what you think to test so you don't waste food its great having two areas to cook to prevent letting one dish get cold while the other is cooking. I like that i can make sure they end at the same for convenience. I tested this out with nuggets and pizza bagels. nuggets needed about 4 more minutes and they both came out perfectly. The air fryer basket is quite large, i was able to comfortably fit about 24 dinosaur nuggets and because it was using air fryer mode instead of oven, there's no need to flip. The two baking trays are about 11x11 and also fit quite a large amount. I was able to put on 24 pizza bagels. i was able to make a tray of fresh fries using 4 potatoes cut to 1/4" thickness and they all spread nicely across the entire basket. you can fit a lot of food in this oven. I ended up getting a tray liner for the black trays to make cleanup easier. in the bottom portion you can put that under the air fryer basket to catch any crumbs/drippings. When your food is done and its turned off, the screen will say "HOT" which is nice reminder as you are cleaning up and whatnot so you can be mindful not to touch. The sides and top on the outside get surprisingly hot during cooking and stay hot for quite a long time after you're all done. My existing toaster oven doesn't stay that hot for that long. not sure if all air fryer's take a long time to cool down, so this could be normal. the poor gripping feet and excessive heat are what cost a star but that could just be me and my kitchen. just something to be mindful of. Regardless, this is an amazingly capable oven and fryer that has a high capacity for family meals.

    A good buy

For now it's a very good product ...it's big enough for preparing food for two people and it looks good on the countertop. We are still figuring out how to use it but we made pork loin and it came out perfect !

Toasting is hard, but I love it!

Posted by Adam Dunn on Sep 26th 2024

It’s complicated, but once you learn it, it makes sense! Maybe it was just me, but this unit felt like there were a ton of rules you had to know before using it. It made the entire experience feel convoluted at first, but I think I was making mountains out of mole hills. Because once I got it all figured out, it is actually quite intuitive. One example: nothing is dishwasher safe minus the wire rack, everything else has to be hand washed. So the rule in our family is NOTHING goes in the dishwasher in regards to this Ninja. The top oven can only be used for some things, and the sheet pan can rest on top of the wire rack, but on the bottom oven has two slots, some things go into one slot while others do not. The combination of the two can be tricky as well. But the rule of thumb is the top is a toaster, the bottom is an airfryer. This little distinction made it far more simple. The other thing is you can’t use low smoke point oils, such as olive oil or butter. So most if not all of your meals needs veggie oil, canola, etc. Also when using both ovens at the same time, you have to estimate additional time, Ninja recommends a couple minutes or so additional cook time. So if your recipe requires 20 mins to cook, try 22 instead. The other complication was I bought a whole chicken, but it ended up being too big for the unit. Turns out the unit can only accept 5 pound chickens or lower with another page in the manual recommending 4 to 4.5 pounds. Needless to say, I had to use my conventional oven for the chicken instead of the Ninja. But that didn’t stop me, I also bought a salmon and that cooked gloriously! More on that later. Once I got it figured out, the buttons on the front are pretty self explanatory. There is a “Top” and “Bottom” button, which just lets you the user know what is happening on the display for that particular space. Or turns on the unit enabling that particular spot. The “Smart Finish” button is a little tricky, but it has a couple features in that one button. You can use the built in meat thermometer to have it stop cooking when it reaches the desired temp! Remember when I mentioned my super delicious salmon? Well I used the leave-in auto detect feature and it stopped cooking as soon as the temp got perfect! So good! I loved it. At the same time, I had potatoes and veggies roasting on the top! The family loved it and it was super easy to do. The other thing I noticed is the veggies didn’t taste like fish, so I think Ninja did a good job with aroma control. The biggest thing I don’t like about this unit is the toaster! The settings variations on toast is not real, I had it set to 3 and 2 pieces of bread and my toast was essentially burnt! I turned it to 1 and 1, and both my pieces were fine. But if you want a lightly toasted piece of bread, it’s impossible to do without watching the bread. For example my toddler likes very lightly warmed poptarts, and I can’t do that with this unit using the toast setting. I can however work around the issue using the “Keep Warm” setting. So far I’ve made chicken tenders, chicken breast, salmon, veggies, nachos, fries, poptarts, toast, bagels, and mozzarella sticks. I plan on making so much more with this thing, including another attempt at a whole chicken. All in all, I love this and I’m so happy to have it added into our kitchen!

Awesome appliance! Great for a family!

Posted by Richard Sharp on Sep 21st 2024

It’s hard to know where to start with this double oven/air fryer just because it’s such a great appliance for our family. From air frying wings to mini pizzas to cookies, etc. etc. we’re always needing to have an oven going. The difficult part for us is getting our full size oven up to temp while using a fraction of its actual cooking space is kind of a pain. Often, we just need a small item or a few items cooked and don’t need a full size oven. Thankfully, this oven is PERFECT for our needs. The ability to have two separate ovens doing two separate things is amazing. We can be baking cookies for dessert while we’re frying wings on the bottom. The unit comes up to temp quickly and cooks very evenly, especially in the bottom oven that has convection capability. The included digital thermometer is fantastic if you need to dial in temps or make sure you get the perfect doneness on your food. The unit itself seems very well made and all of the included sheets and racks are top quality and clean up well in the dishwasher. It’s simple enough that our kids can use it while being capable enough to cook some amazing meals. The unit looks incredible on the counter especially with its “hidden” display. When the display is off, there’s nothing but brushed stainless steel which gives it a very upscale look. Overall, we’re incredibly happy with this oven. We’ve only just begun to use all of its capability and we cannot wait to use it more.
