5 Best ninja air fryer yet!
Posted by Stephanie Evans on Oct 22nd 2024
As someone who uses pretty much all ninja everything in the kitchen I can say they always hit home runs with their products and this is no different. If you have or have had a ninja air fryer before this one is similar but better in every way. So I really dig the match cook option with this new large split basket situation they have going on here. It’s one big basket (around 15” wide) instead of the normal smaller like in the past. This has a removable wall in the middle so you can cook two different things at different temps and not affect each other (perfect for my kids chicken nuggets and French fries lol). Not only does it do two foods at different temps but using the smart finish it doesnt matter what settings you need or length of time it will make sure that both get done at the same time making it way easier to cook instead of guessing when to start the second item to try and get it done at the same time. You can set zone 1 and zone 2 independently or use the megazone button and control both as one large zone for cook settings. Though I mainly used this for air frying it also does broil reheat bake and dehydrate. I also find myself using reheat for left over pizza which it actually does a really good job of heating evenly and coming out much better than the microwave. Whether you want an air fryer or you want a really flexible space saving oven this thing is easily the best one ive used. I highly recommend this and it makes even my oldest ninja air fryer feel old now with this new tech lol.

5 Well Made Air Fryer - MegaZone is worth it
Posted by Zachary Beltran on Oct 15th 2024
The Ninja Foodi FlexBasket Air fryer is another addition to Ninja’s growing line of kitchen appliances. This air fryer sets itself apart with its larger 7qt. size and dual zone heating. In other larger air fryer models, including ones from Ninja, you tend to have 2 separate baskets with each size carrying its own heat controls. The MegaZone basket lets you cook across the entire volume – a novel improvement. I have been using it quite frequently over the last few days and I have really liked it so far. Design of the MegaZone Air Fryer follows the same design cues of other Ninja appliances. The front display/control panel has a familiar interface. Push buttons for each control are hidden under the smooth plastic surface. There are settings for Air Broil, Air Fry, Roast, Bake, Reheat, and Dehydrate. There are a couple of other buttons that correspond to the cooking zones – Zone 1, Zone 2, and MegaZone. There’s also buttons for Smart Finish and Match Cook. If you are unfamiliar with these 2 modes, they are pretty easy to understand. Smart Finish is used when you are cooking using both zones but the cook times don’t match. You can select Smart Finish before starting to cook and the machine will hold the shorter timed item from starting until the timers for both sides sync and they finish together. With Match Cook you are again using both zones. For this setting you have 2 things you are cooking that have all the same temp/cook mode/time but you don’t want the foods to comingle together in the MegaZone. Selecting Match Cook will sync both sides of the air fryer to the same thing – it basically saves you from having to program the same thing twice. The basket is one large container that is bisected by the removable center block plate. On either side is an identical insert grate that has rubber feet in all 4 corners. The center plate is also rubberized, which helps protect the finish of the metal as you remove/replace the block and grate inserts. The basket itself is large enough for me to toast an entire foot long sub with plenty of room to spare. Pulling the basket out is as easy as grabbing the full width handle and pulling it out. Removal of the basket does not stop or pause the cooking, so you have to press the pause button if you need to remove the basket for an extended period of time. While the air fryer is running the exterior of the machine stays safe to touch – you fan feel it warming up, but nothing that approaches feeling hot. The different cook modes correspond to different temp ranges and defaults. They are basically time/temp shortcuts. Reheat and Air Fry operate on a range of 300-400°F, Bake and Roast are 250-400°F, Dehydrate is 80-195°F, and Air Broil is 450°F. I have been using air fryers for years so I am familiar with this sort of scheme. I mainly used the Air Fry and the Roast presets as those gave me the temp ranges I needed the most. In my time of using the air fryer I have made meatball subs, pork loins, reheated calzones and pizza, cooked nuggets and fries, and made nachos. I really like the use of the full width via the MegaZone setting. That came in handy with the subs and pork loins which are much too large to do in my smaller 3qt round air fryer. I used the split zones to cook the nuggets and fries which required different temps and times, and I used the Smart Finish mode to sync them up. In the past if I wanted to do nuggets and fries I had to use my oven to make enough, and with the current outside temps I have little desire to turn on my oven. In all cases the cooking went off without a hitch and the food came out great. The only time something went wrong was with a meatball sub – I was using thin sliced cheese and I think the convection current was strong enough to lift the cheese up off the sub. The cheese melted/burned onto the element, which caused me to shut it down and do a cleaning. Lessen learned on the super thin sliced cheese. After using the cooker for about a week the only fault I can find with it is the lack of a basket hook or catch when pulling the basket out. Most air fryers pull straight out and can sit on the counter top because the outer basket shroud (the cool plastic part) keeps the hot basket elevated. Also, most small air fryer baskets are barely above the counter surface so pulling them out to check progress is easy. In those cases the basket hangs inside the machine and the shroud rests on the counter, which keeps the basket steady and allows you to shake or move things around. With the larger 7qt basket you can’t pull it out and let it rest on just any surface. The hot basket will tip down (towards the back) and rest on the counter – no way around this. You need to have hot pads and counterspace ready for the basket to be set down – a tough task if you are tight on useable counterspace. I used my oven surface quite a few times as well. This basket awkwardness also isn’t helped by the elevated position of the basket opening. The opening for the basket sits about 0.75” above the counter surface, which is much higher than other air fryers I have used. The elevated position means you have to hold onto the basket while checking the cook progress or while moving/repositioning food. Letting go of the handle allows the basket to tip down (outwards) and slide out more. I felt I was tempting fate by taking my hand off the basket – it was a delicate balancing act. Overall, I really do like this Air Fryer. The issue with the basket aside, I like the larger size because I have 5 kids that I cook for. The smaller air fryers cannot keep up if I am cooking for everyone. I used the dual zone to make batches of nuggets and fries, the MegaZone for pork loins, and more. In the week that I have had this I have not used my oven once – which is a big help in keeping my home cool. This is my 5th Ninja Foodi small appliance. They have all seen regular usage, and I have yet to be disappointed by any one of them.

5 Why didn't I get this sooner?
Posted by William Griffin on Sep 27th 2024
I once was a lowly, silly girl who thought air fryers were overrated and didn't really add anything to the cooking experience. Then I bought this air fryer on impulse as young adults do and it has been a particularly life changing experience. This thing makes chicken in 15 minutes or less. Reheats pizza in 4 minutes like you just walked out of the restaurant with it. French fries are perfection. I've made whole dinners in under 20 and everything just tastes better? (compared to the uninspiring oven) I cook very often so trust me when I tell you this shaves cooking times in HALF. It has TWO baskets and my favorite part (which no other air fryer I've seen done) is that you can make it into one mega basket. I'm counting down the days until I roast an entire chicken. It's very easy to use and super easy to wash/rinse and use over and over. It even has a cute little goodbye message every time you turn it off. It is super quiet compared to some other air fryers I've heard and it only beeps ONCE when its finished cooking instead of the incessant, loud beeping of other machines. It doesn't take up too much space on my apartment counter with 3 roommates and it doesn't emit any smoke like others might. It's magic. If you're on the fence, let this be your sign to hop on the bright side over here. The Ninja Foodi bright side.

5 Large capacity makes this air fryer a winner
Posted by Michael Perkins on Sep 24th 2024
I recently had the pleasure of trying out the Ninja Foodi FlexBasket Air Fryer with the 7-qt MegaZone, and I must say, it has completely transformed my cooking experience. As someone who enjoys preparing a wide variety of dishes, this appliance's versatility and efficiency have truly impressed me. The 7-qt MegaZone capacity is perfect for larger meals or when you're cooking for a group. The ample cooking space allows for even air circulation, ensuring consistent and perfectly crispy results. Whether it's a batch of French fries, crispy chicken wings, or even a whole roast, the MegaZone can handle it all. My old air fryer’s 5 qt capacity just wasn’t large enough for the typical meals I prepare often. What sets the Ninja Foodi FlexBasket Air Fryer apart is its flexibility. The adjustable cooking racks and dual-zone temperature control allow you to cook different foods simultaneously without flavors mingling. You can air fry your favorite snacks in one section while roasting vegetables in the other, saving time without compromising on taste. The precision of the cooking presets is remarkable. From air frying and roasting to baking and dehydrating, this appliance covers a wide spectrum of cooking methods. The digital control panel is intuitive and easy to use, making it suitable for both beginners and experienced cooks. The customizable options give you full control over time and temperature, allowing you to experiment and achieve the desired results effortlessly. Cleanup is often a concern with cooking appliances, but the Ninja Foodi FlexBasket Air Fryer makes it a breeze. The non-stick surfaces are a lifesaver, as most food particles simply wipe away with a damp cloth. The dishwasher-safe parts further simplify the cleaning process, saving you valuable time in the kitchen. The main drawback has been the weight and size of the food basket. It is heavy and large, and requires two hands to carry. My older more compact air fryer’s food basket was easy to hold with just one hand and weighed a lot less. In conclusion, the Ninja Foodi FlexBasket Air Fryer with the 7-qt MegaZone is a must-have for kitchen enthusiasts who value efficiency, versatility, and exceptional taste. Its ability to handle various cooking methods, spacious capacity, and user-friendly features make it a standout appliance.

4 Why is the basket so short?
Posted by Steve Salinas on Sep 24th 2024
TL:DR Pros -2 3.5qt areas about 6.5” * 8.5” in the grill side and about 2.75” high from the grill -Dedicated heating coils, fans, and settings for each area. -Removable middle piece for longer cooking area. -Many settings to crisp, cook, roast, bake, reheat, and dehydrate -Booklet with recommended cooking time and settings for common types of food Cons -unpolished edges on the matte “stainless” finish on the shell -Baskets are very low to the grill side and potentially cause problems if you use liners or cook bulky foods. Personal Nitpicks -Slow cooking times, will take time to get used to them but every air fryer is different -no timer or sound to let you know to flip or shake your food. -no auto stop/resume when pulling the basket *-Remember to always use Plastic Tongs to make your air fryer last longer-* Review: Alright let me start this review by saying that I mainly have used air fryers to air fry things and reheat. Many of the new and higher end air fryers have many bells and whistles that many would find convenient or appealing but personally I use them for their intended purpose and will review/judge them with that in mind. Now, let’s talk about the shell. The unit it self is about 11.25”H*18’W and 12”L which takes a good mount of space, so make sure you have the space. The shell is made of matte materials with most of it covered in black plastic and parts of it with a “stainless” steel look. In the front you get a small screen displaying the settings and tactile buttons with a diaphragm on top. Once you open the basket, there will be 2 grills separated by a removable piece in the middle. With the piece in, each side measures about 6.5”W, 8.5”L, and 2.75” H, and once you remove the piece about 13”W, 8.5”L, and 2.75”H. There is one heating coil for each area, but I did notice that there was not much space between the grill and the coil. Personally, the first time I used the air fryer, I used a line and some of it got burned because it touched the coil, but it was a personal error. Anyways, you do get several options to what you want to do with your food in the settings. You can also set up each side to do different things, such as the left is set to dehydrate, and the right is set to air broil. There is also the option to remove the middle piece and control both sides at the same time with Megazone. One can mix and match and play around the settings but now I will move on to the air frying part. I usually use air fryers to meal prep since it allows me to do several things at the same time. There have been times where I even use several air fryers while I wash rice, or peel my potatoes, or season my meats, so efficiency is something I look in an air fryer. The first batch I prepared for this air fryer was seasoned chicken tenderloins (7 pieces) at 370f with 26 mins. The second batch I prepared was more seasoned chicken tenderloins (about 9 pieces) at 400f with 21 mins. As one would expect, neither cooked with the given time, so an extra 6 mins was added each with the same temperatures. Before I did that, I noticed that there was no halftime to shake or flip your food but good thing I was present and looking. At the end the first batch cooked but tasted like it was boiled and notice there was an extra step to get them crispy with the air broil which I did not know. The second batch I had to add another 5 mins before it cooked. At the end the second batch took almost 40 minutes to cook and the first a little over 30 mins. Personally, I feel I need to get used to it like any other air fryer, but time can become an issue for me. Also, I could never see myself sticking a piece of ham in an air fryer, if that was the case, I would use an oven or a microwave. I just want to air fry things. To finish things off, if you have ever washed the grill/guard of an air fryer expect the same, for those who have never owned an air fryer, you will have a hard time especially if you cook meats. In the box you only get the unit and a little bit of paperwork including the manual and the recommended cook times, nothing else. My final thoughts Would I recommend this air fryer? Yes, if you’re looking for space and find value in the extra features. Just keep in mind it is not a put your food in and turn it on situation, there is a learning curve.

5 FlexBasket flexing on these meals!
Posted by Kristen Navarro on Sep 17th 2024
The Ninja Foodi FlexBasket Air Fryer is a great addition to my kitchen. With the flex basket it is very versatile as you can cook one big dish or 2 smaller ones at different temperatures. There are plenty of different cooking options such as Air Broil, Air Fry, Roast, Bake, Reheat and Dehydrate. I was still learning when to use the different modes but I started to get a hang of it by following the provided guides. This is my first Air Fryer but not the first one I've used so I have to say in comparison it is pretty quiet and didn't get hot on the outside. I did cook some chicken, salmon, French fries and reheated some barbeque and it all turned out well. The Ninja Foodi Air Fryer was also easy to clean, most things wiped off and the baskets have silicone spacers that keep the trays from scratching the basket. I'm anticipating in also using the dehydrate feature to dehydrate some fruit to make it last longer. Overall I'm very pleased with the Ninja Air Fryer and I'm looking forward to cooking a lot more with little to no oil!

5 One Basket +Two Cook Zones = Yummy
Posted by Jessica Torres on Sep 14th 2024
I must confess up front that Ninja is my favorite brand of innovative cookware. That said, with this new FlexBasket (Flex) cooker, I expected it to be great, so I tried it out and looked for something not to like. Tough one! This new Flex is impressive right out of the box. It looks good, has a large touch screen for controlling the many functions that it can provide for you. The build is sturdy and rather heavy. I would suggest placing it somewhere that you can easily operate without having to move it around a lot. Not a criticism! Features are plentiful; and some major ones include: •
