5 Nice frozen maker for most drinks.
Posted by Robert Perkins on Oct 13th 2024
This Ninja - SLUSHi 5-in-1 Professional Frozen Drink Maker has been fun. My kids love how easy it is to make slushes out of their favorite sodas or juices. I love how easy it is to take apart, and simple to clean. All in all, it’s a win-win. Very easy and intuitive to use with 5 straight-forward presets: SLUSH, SPIKED SLUSH, FROZEN JUICE, FRAPPE, and MILKSHAKE. Straight out of the box we rinsed the pieces, reassembled the machine, plugged it in, and then added soda to begin slushing – it is really that simple. My kids were enjoying their first round of drinks in about 20 minutes. The guide lists 2-3 cups of fluid will need about 15 minutes to slush, which is fairly accurate. A full load of 88 ounces is more like an hour so be sure to plan ahead if you are having company. My only complaint would be the lack of sugar free abilities – the drinks need either actual sugar or some sugar in alcohol. If you’re not wanting alcohol, then you must have a sugar based liquid in order for it to freeze. We ran into several attempted slushis that would not freeze due to lack of sugar. So, keep that in mind for any users who need to be conscience of their sugar intake. The base/motor/chiller unit is pretty slim and sleek for its abilities. Measures about 7 inches wide by 17 tall and 17 deep. This sounded large to me when I read it, but it actually fits beautifully on my countertop just under the cupboards. The base utilizes Rapidchill and Whisperchill technologies which are fairly self-explanatory but simply put it cools quickly and is quiet while doing so, which I totally agree that this machine is surprisingly quiet while operating. 5 simple presets: SLUSH, SPIKED SLUSH, FROZEN JUICE, FRAPPE, and MILKSHAKE. If the automated features aren’t just right for your flavor, then there is a manual override for the temperature control. The unit is well constructed of heavy, durable materials and seems fit for the test of time. Build quality is top notch and very nice as I’ve come to expect from Ninja products. Assembly and disassembly for cleaning are streamlined with basically just one large bail handle latch that holds everything together and then releases when it’s time to clean. Cleaning is very easy and there’s even an additional base preset of “rinse” for a quick internal unit rinse with warm water. Functioning Noise Level: again, the noise level produced during operation is very low, not much motor, unit, or gear noise to note. Some drinks can get a little rocky sounding at times – I’ve noticed this happens more frequently if you’re bumped your temperature down too low for your drink contents, I think it freezes in the machine and then stirs ice cubes around in there. Capacity and Size is great. The large 88-ounce vessel is definitely enough to keep the party going. There’s also a brilliant easy fill port right on top so as long as you’re good about replenishing the vessel as you serve, it will never run out. Be sure to add as you go because the newly added liquids will freeze/slush much faster when added to existing slushi versus starting and entire new batch from scratch. Its footprint is small and very reasonable to always leave this out on the counter without claiming too much real estate, and mine fits right under the cupboards. Cleaning and Maintenance: Super easy to clean with all components being dishwasher safe other than the motor base of course. Overall, this has been a greatly enjoyed addition to our kitchen. Mom loves it for weekend gatherings and the kids love it every day of the week. Simple use, easy to clean and fun to enjoy. I would definitely recommend to a friend or anyone looking to SLUSH things up!

5 AWESOME FUN AND DELICIOUS.
Posted by Amy Stark on Oct 12th 2024
Ninja - SLUSHi 5-in-1 Professional Frozen Drink Machine Summary: AWESOME FUN AND DELICIOUS. Use: We love to enjoy a variety of frozen treats. Particularly good ole fruit juice slushies, but also decadent home-made pina coladas and margaritas. We've recently decided to be a bit more judicious about our spend while dining out and one of the things that consistently racks up the $ are frozen adult beverages. So we decided we'd give the Ninja Slushi a spin. We have had it just over a week and have definitely put it through its paces. We've enjoyed pina coladas, margaritas, wine coolers, and some basic fruit juice beverages. This small appliance is definitely worth the fun. I definitely recommend it for anyone with children or adults that like iced drinks! One thing to note: though it seems silly to worry about sugar with a slushie machine, we did worry. We generally sweeten beverages with products like Stevia liquid drops. These don't have the sugar content that the mixer requires. We had to switch to monk fruit granulated sweetener to get the desired affect. If you're using alternative sweeteners, please be aware that you may need to switch things up. Pros: * Sleek Design. This makes the appliance an easy sell for leaving on the counter if you have the space (or don't have off-counter storage). It is also right sized and easy to move around for those that need to. * Well Built. The entire appliance is basically plastic. But the unit feels substantial, and when put together, feels well made. Only time will tell! * Easy to Use. Assembling the unit is a breeze and its intuitive. Getting the unit operational and making slushies can be a short exercise in patience. Be sure to read the stickers on the device for hints/instructions. Of particular import are the "what happens when X and Y lights are lit and the unit beeps" as these address the top two issues with making slushies: alcoholic content and sugar content. Lacking enough of either/or and you will end up with a block of ice and a jammed unit! * Instructions. Though seemingly sparse, the instructions are available on the unit if you haven't removed the stickers, or online. READ THEM. Doing so will save you time and heartache. * Thoughtful design. In addition to looking great, there are smaller things such as the plastic trim on the sides of the unit that help ensure the unit is kept far enough away from another device/wall so as to allow air movement. This likely helps prevent the unit from overheating. * Controls. The controls match the ease of use. On the whole the presets are going to work just fine for you. However, you are able to make finer tuned adjustments to the temperature of the freezing drum. Cons: * Plastic auger. I do wish the auger was metal. I can imagine reasons why it isn't, but it would have been nice. I feel like this is the primary moving part in contact with ice and likely the most to break. * Freezing drum placement. I realize this is not an easy solve. But it would have been super great if the drum could be removed with ease while attached to the container. This would ensure that if the seal were to break, or if improperly assembled, or something else that the liquid would remain entirely within an enclosed chamber. I had one instance of too low sugar content, and the mixture iced up pretty fast. The auger was working overtime and the chamber itself was rocking as if it was going to push right off the unit. Had the seal/clamp broken or been misaligned, it may very well have! Not likely to happen, but that came to mind when I saw the rocking.

5 Auto SMILE Maker
Posted by Cheyenne Richards on Oct 3rd 2024
The Ninja SLUSHi is an absolute gem in my kitchen and is now part of my HOME. It’s not just a gadget; it's a guaranteed smile-maker for both adults and kids. The TikTok hype? It's true. I’ve made frozen cocktails, coffees (frappes), sodas, and juices, and the best part is how easy it is to clean. Since it’s October and I live on the East Coast, I’ve been making Coconut Lime Daiquiris and enjoying them around the fire. These drinks taste amazing, not just because of the recipe but because this machine makes pro-skilled slushies. Ninja highlights its five key features: an 88oz vessel, 5 functions, RapidChill technology, and WhisperChill Compressor. The 88oz vessel is ideal for serving up drinks for four. Remember, you can only make up to 64oz at a time due to the turning process and foaming mixtures like coffee. The five functions—Slush, Spiked Slush (my fave), Frappe (a close second), Milkshake, and Frozen Juice—are super versatile. The auto temp recommendations based on the function are usually reliable, though you might want to adjust depending on your liquid and preference. RapidChill technology freezes liquids quickly, like 16oz of soda in about 15 minutes. The WhisperChill Compressor is wonderfully quiet and can run for up to 12 hours. Cleaning is straightforward: pop out the vessel, auger, and trays, wash them, and wipe down the steel cylinder. Ninja says the parts are dishwasher-safe, but I prefer hand-washing. Stick to the guideline of only pouring liquids into the maker. It detects when there’s no sugar or too much alcohol, so diet or sugar-free options won't work. Follow the manual for sugar doses. Speaking of the manual, keep it handy. It offers recipes and guides on the best liquids to use. The Ninja SLUSHi is a game-changer in my kitchen, living up to all the hype and bringing endless joy with every use. Cheers to many more slushy creations!

4 Great but with faults.
Posted by Morgan Choi on Sep 25th 2024
Setup was pretty simple. Just a few items to connect before it was connected. We tried the slushy feature first. Pretty simple. Poor your soda of choice in the top till you reach the minimum or maximum fill line. Then turn it in to slush mode. Then walk away. About 20 min or so later it beeps which means it is done. Then put a cup under and tilt the handle toward you. This is where we had trouble. The slushy would get stuck and we stuck a for inside to push it back and then it worked again. Then slushy was good but struggled with a normal straw. They should have included thicker straws. Cleaning was easy. Just fill with warm water and run the rinse cycle. Then remove and wash the components. I tried the frozen coffee and lemonade smoothy. Also attempted to make a chocolate shake. All worked. I just wish they had better recipe cards for ease of use in the family. Overall I like the machine but found the slushy getting stuck removing from the experience. Also the lack of thick straws had me using a spoon which is not the experience I was hoping for. Finally there was no clear recipe’s for non alcoholic Pina Colada’s which would have been nice to try. There was one but I could not find the brand of mix the suggested. Also I wanted to make some energy slushy’s but they need minimum 4g of sugar and most I drink are sugar free.

5 Dear Millenial…
Posted by Jordan Harris on Sep 21st 2024
Are you struggling to save for your financial future because of your love for avocado toast* and gourmet beverages? Do you stop at Startbucks multiple times a week for a grande pumpkin spice Frappuccino? Do you find yourself drawn to the large Icee at the movie theater? Do you crave a frozen cocktail to beat the heat on a hot summer day? What if I told you there was a way to make all of these frozen concoctions, and so many more, at home for a fraction of the cost? Get your house savings back on track. Introducing the Ninja Slushi! *Avocado toast is not classified as a gourmet or frozen beverage. The Ninja Slushi cannot help you in your quest to obtain unlimited avocado toast at home. All jokes and poor attempts at a Ninja Slushi infomercial aside, this thing is amazing. I am the aforementioned millenial who loves Frappuccinos, Icees at the movie theater, and frozen cocktails. The twist is I already own a home. Gasp! Once I started seeing influencer ads about the Ninja Slushi, I HAD to try it. I haven’t been disappointed yet. Compared to a blender, setup is so easy. Just add your ingredients to the reservoir, choose the appropriate temperature setting (there’s an abundance of resources on how to do this correctly), check in every so often, and then enjoy. You don’t need to add ice or cringe as you hit the power button because your ears are about to be blasted off by the sound of a metal blade obliterating it to pieces. So far, we’ve made margaritas, frozen lemon lavender Moscow mules (my favorite drink thus far), slushed Dr. Pepper, slushed Mtn Dew Baja Blast to rival Taco Bell, and frozen chai tea latte. Spiked drinks can be a little needy if you add too much alcohol as the cooling core cannot get cold enough to freeze it. In this instance, you need to add more sugar (via mix) or water it down. There is a label fixed to the side of the machine to remind you how to make adjustments if needed. The Ninja Slushi is easy to tear apart and clean thoroughly when done. It’s thin and surprisingly easy to store in tight cupboard spaces. This thing is all the rage right now and I do, fortunately or un, see why. The fact that I have one has certainly made my friends jealous. I definitely recommend you pick one up when they’re back in stock!

5 Makes amazing slushi's and works great.
Posted by Cody Acevedo on Sep 19th 2024
Step 1. Acquire Ninja Slushi machine Step 2. Acquire Mountain Dew Baja Blast from grocery store Step 3. ??? Step 4. Profit! This thing works great. It's very easy to clean which is a huge plus. 5 cans of soda and it's full and holy cow does it come out perfect. It's not a 1:1 Icee, but it's def a slushi. Ninja products have been great and we have a lot of them in our house, slowly replacing the cheaper stuff. Very satisfied.

5 Frozen drinks, no ice required and Easy cleanup
Posted by Jimmy Garrett on Sep 17th 2024
The Ninja Slushi machine is amazing! Turns liquid into a frozen drink without ice! First some basics. It is roughly 17” high, 17” in length and 6” in width. Fairly compact. It has a 5’ electric cord. My suggestion, find the spot you plan to place it before taking it out of the box. It is fairly heavy. If you have ever used a celery juicer, the Ninja Slushi has a similar construction and uses an auger to keep the liquid moving over the stainless steel (I think it’s stainless) evaporator (chilling cylinder). Like other Ninja products I have used the Slushi machine is designed incredibly well. The manufacturer seems to put so much thought into the design and I for one really appreciate it. A drip tray clips on the front to catch anything that missed the glass when using the pour spout. The thoughtful design includes a little knob on the side of the unit to store the drip tray when the unit is not in use. That’s thoughtful design! (See pictures) After cleaning I poured cold orange juice into the unit and turned it on. The Slushi machine requires a minimum of 16 ounces of liquid and a maximum of 64 ounces. I was trying to estimate 20 ounces for the first slush and as I was pouring in the orange juice, I realized the minimum and maximum levels are marked on the front of the unit (see picture). Within two minutes of setting the machine to frozen juice and three bars on the temperature scale I saw little spots of frozen juice. In 15 minutes, I had an orange juice slushi. Fantastic! The Rinse cycle makes cleaning the machine easy. Pour in hot water then dispense it while the machine is running the “Rinse” cycle. Frozen drinks, no ice required. Easy cleanup. That’s five stars for the Ninja Slushi. One thing about the Ninja products is they have great manuals. They are designed from the user’s perspective, not the manufacturer’s perspective. Everything you need to know is in the manual and it’s written clearly and simply. The pictures and explanations in the manual describe use, cleaning and has recipes. Interesting that the liquid being slushed must contain 4% or more of sugar. Below 4% will cause the liquid to freeze too hard to be a slush. Looking up the unit on the Ninja website it does say sugar substitutes can be used; however, the manual states that artificial sweeteners will not contribute to the 4% sugar requirement.
