AWESOME! convection oven - YUCK! microwave

Posted by William Gilbert on Dec 8th 2024

We have mixed feelings: It is a truly GREAT convection oven, but sucks as a microwave oven. So, we recently converted (In progress) it to a wall oven. We mostly use the microwave function and bake/air fry once or twice a week. I checked al the setting and it is running nominally - very annoying having a cup of liquid spinning for 2 minutes to get warm. It really, really, really sucks at warming food, but is ok at zapping potatoes - 5 to 7 minutes per big potato. Yet, did I mention it is an awesome energy efficient convection oven? It bakes bread, cakes and air-fries chicken like no other while sipping electrons. HINT: Bakes and Air-fries at its best when baking pan can spin and is elevated allowing for airflow under the baking pan. We did not, nor have the inclination to set the Wi-Fi thingy. What da'heck one needs that for?

    Samsung Vs Best Buy

Posted by Jason Branch on Nov 30th 2024

Searching Best Buy online for a Samsung Convection Microwave and found one on sale at Best Buy's local outlet store as a Best Buy inspected marked "condition excellent" open box. The open box Samsung Convection Microwave was fully packaged in the original box and taped shut. I also paid for the Best Buy five year extended warranty plan. When my newly purchased over range Samsung Convection Microwave was installed it did not heat food. Then Best Buy refused to exchange it for same model with a new one at same price, because they didn't have additional same model open boxes Best Buy wanted me to pay the full new unopened box price they had in stock for the same manufacturer model unit. I had immediately registered, once installed, the newly purchased at Best Buy outlet store over range Convection Microwave unit with Samsung. I called Samsung who immediately sent out their service tech at no cost to me. But I had my Best Buy customer service inconvenience time and time taking off work for the in-house Samsung service tech. Samsung's warranty in-house local appliance support repair technician, trained by Samsung, ended up having a simple fix of an unhooked wire inside, apparently not connected during fabrication. I feel Best Buy advertising my Samsung Convection microwave as "excellent condition" for open box was false advertising, since when installed it didn't heat up food. Best Buy did not stand behind their sale but Samsung stood behind their convection microwave product and it now works very well. I highly recommend buying Samsung appliance products because Samsung stands behind their appliance products! I gave product quality the 4 stars, since Samsung's factory did not catch the unhooked heating element wire inside the appliance before shipping it to Best Buy. In follow up to my Samsung Convection Microwave appliance purchased at the local Best Buy outlet store, I will be very cautious in the future about trusting Best Buy's open box advertised "condition excellent" kitchen appliances. My new installed over range Samsung Convection Microwave, purchased open box, did not heat food but was advertised through Best Buy on line and in their Best Buy outlet store as open box "condition excellent". When I went to the Best Buy outlet store, the box with my Samsung Convection Microwave marked "condition excellent" was sealed with Inspected by Best Buy tape on the original box, see photo attached, so I purchased it.

    Multi purpose microwave

Posted by Benjamin Harris on Nov 18th 2024

Warms food fast and lights underneath are nice. Fans work good also for ventilation. Easy to clean as well. Ran into a issue with installation but was corrected quickly. Don't hesitate, worth the money.

    Very Nice Microwave

Posted by Cassandra Gonzales on Nov 7th 2024

Very sleek and capable microwave. We purchased this microwave with installation, and the install went very well. There are a lot of convection oven and "slim" fry options that are very helpful, along with a nice round baking tray. This microwave heats up drinks and leftovers very well, however it doesn't feature any quick start buttons. We did take one star away because the instructions for the different features are very difficult to find, in paper or online, and also because it picks up fingerprints very easily.

If door-swing doesn’t clear a wall or cab DO THIS

Posted by Emily Jordan MD on Nov 2nd 2024

Couple of things… It’s a monster, much bigger than our previous OTR microwave. So if you’re installing next to a wall or pantry cabinet the door may NOT fully swing open. Don’t panic, there’s a solution. We purchased this in-stock accessory from IKEA (NYTTIG 30” backfiller piece for microwave) It was a Godsend: IKEA part #105.365.05 (NYTTIG) for $28.95 and now all’s well. Hope this helps. Take time to scan the QR code (tiny sticker on the glass door) so you can register your warranty and download the user guide, manual, etc. “Slim Fry” means Air Fry. A 9x13” casserole dish will fit. A 12” pizza stone will fit. A 12-14 lb turkey will fit. This is a true multi-tasker and will perform many useful functions for you, convection bake, speed bake, and air fry, being the best of them, in my opinion. It’s truly a workhorse! RECOMMENDED!
