4 Great vacuum

this is the best vacuum for the value. I appreciate the standard configuration for ease of use. Many others are to top heavy to be agile.

2 Great vacuum - NO long-term support
Posted by Jonathan Merritt on Oct 21st 2024
This is a great vacuum with a BIG CATCH: long-term parts availability is limited to non-existent. Even though this vacuum came out only a few months ago, parts for it are drying up fast. For example, I needed the "deep-cleaning motorized pet tool" (part # 857FFJ362H) to do my stairs and upholstery. Seeing it out of stock on their website and unavailable from other stores, I contacted product support and they told me that this particular part is no longer in production. Looking on Reddit, parts availability also seems to be a common complaint. Had I known of this problem, I would not have spent this kind of money on the vacuum.

5 Great vacuum, portable, highly recommend.
Posted by Kenneth Rogers on Oct 16th 2024
We got this vacuum for our new house woth two stories because we wanted cordless. This was an amazing choice. The unit is very light and has a nice little display that holds the power and settings buttons, and shows the current battery life, your active floor mode (carpet or bare) and your current suction level out of 3. The battery lasts for a good chunk of time, I could probably do an entire floor on a charge plus the stairs. If you have a very large house that you want to do all at once, you'll need a second battery. The double rollers and power fins are great on the carpet, and the second roller turns off for bare floor mode. Highly recommend. My only complaint is the sheer number of triggers in close proximity for pulling different pieces apart. They are all intuitively placed, but it's easy at first to mistakenly press the incorrect latch and remove the wand instead of the canister or something like that.

5 Amazing on Carpets
Posted by Sandra Herring on Oct 14th 2024
Best cordless vacuum i ever had! I have older models of Shark and few other vacuums from other different brands and they all perform ok. But this Shark Cordless Vertex Pro it’s above all them. -Great design. -The light really does help when u clean dark corners or under furniture -The LiftAway makes so much easier to clean the above areas in your house(like Blinds or top of cabinets) -Very good suction. -The changing of the brush with this New Fins technology is the BEST change they did to it. No more tangled hair it really works and does great on carpets. -Battery is very easy to swap and seems to last enough for a full cleaning in my case. I love it!

5 Superb!

Excellent cordless vacuum! It has loads of versatility thanks to the convertible lift-away design, I can easily fit it under my bed but it's not quite low profile enough to get under my couch, which is fine because it's pretty low. The ease of storage and great battery life (not to mention excellent hard floor performance even on low) encourages me to use it for much smaller jobs I normally wouldn't bother busting out a vacuum for. It picks up just about everything (it is REALLY good at accidentally eating up stray cords and etc), the self cleaning brushroll works amazingly well in a house full of cats and me with my long hair, and does a better job at carpeting than my old Hoover Windtunnel 2 did. The fit and finish on it feels very high quality. My only real complaint is that it doesn't come with onboard attachment storage. You can buy a storage clip from Shark for a scant 10 dollars but I am still a little annoyed that I need to order it separately.

5 Nice vacuum with multiple ways of use
Posted by Miguel Romero on Sep 27th 2024
When first getting the vacuum, I was expecting to be a big and bulky one, however, after using it all the different ways you can move things around makes it a great vacuum for around the house. I like that you can take the different parts off and use it for what works best for the task, and the fact that it can be both a vacuum for the floor and then you take off a cord to get to the hard to reach places means you only need one vacuum for the whole house. On the performance side, it has some power, especially compared to other battery-powered vacuums I've had. It does have a battery that lasts enough for me, and since it's removable if you have a larger area you can get an extra one so you can keep going if one dies on you. So far it's been a great vacuum that I highly recommend.

4 Powerful, Lightweight, Versatile
Posted by Victor Griffin on Sep 27th 2024
INITIAL IMPRESSIONS & SET-UP The Shark comes well protected and packaged in its box. Shark must have paid someone a good deal of money to figure out how to fit all those pieces in a box as small as it is. However, it was money well spent as its dense packaging not only saves space, but the parts are wrapped in heavy paper and do a good job at protecting them from abrasions during shipment. Because of the packaging, the Shark requires a little work to assemble before using, but it is nothing hard or intimidating. The only difficult part of assembly is waiting for the battery to charge before use. That took about 3 hours for me, as it was fairly discharged, and the battery is good sized. USE The Shark is a nice change from the traditional stick vacuums that are common throughout. With the Shark, you can use it like a traditional upright vacuum, or detach the power section and use it like a canister vacuum. While this may not be as convenient as a dedicated stick vacuum, it has allowed Shark the ability to install a huge battery pack. The Shark also comes with several attachments, such as a furniture brush, a crevice tool, and my new favorite attachment: a ceiling fan and blind cleaner. That small tool alone is great!!! I found myself using it far more than I ever thought I would. I no longer reach for Swiffers to clean my ceiling fans and shutters. The Shark sucks up that dust and traps it all in the HEPA filter, something no Swiffer can offer. AWESOME!! Shark claims this Vertex has the power of a full-size vacuum in Boost Mode. Boost Mode does make it a very powerful vacuum, but that power comes at the price of major battery usage. Shark recommends limited use of Boost mode because of the power consumption, and I can see why. Luckily, the default Medium setting power is more than sufficient for most day-to-day cleaning chores. Battery life on Medium and Eco are on par with recent vacuums from other manufacturers. But, none of the other manufacturers I’ve tried have the performance of the Shark on its Boost mode. A feature that I feel is worth pointing out, as it doesn’t apply to many other vacuums on the market is the Shark’s ability to go nearly horizontal to floor while cleaning. While I like my other stick vacuums, you must put them at an odd angle to get them under things like beds and dressers. You can’t just natively push them under a bed for cleaning, as they get closer to horizontal, the power head lifts off the floor, rendering the vac useless. Shark’s approach eliminates this pet peeve. While using the Vertex like a canister vacuum, you can simply push the power head directly under something to clean it. You don’t have to act like a contortionist to get the angle just right for cleaning. A true game changer. That has always frustrated me about others’ stick vacuums. NEGATIVES While I praised the Shark for its unique design in the previous section, it is also a negative. Using the Vertex as an upright just feels odd. I still haven’t fully come to grips with the vacuum in this configuration. Also, if you do need to use the vacuum to clean under something, you must remove motor assembly, making it an item you now must also carry, therefore tying up both hands while you sweep. I’m not trying to be a whiner, but I feel it is something that should be considered prior to purchasing. The Shark’s unique design doesn’t feel as natural as an upright or isn’t as convenient as a stick vac. It is like an odd hybrid. The odd placement of the LED lighting seems more of an afterthought than an actual design element. The are 3 LED’s each placed at the end of the brush head. Those LED’s do help light up the floor but leave an odd dim area directly in front of the brush head. Shark would be wise to study Tineco’s implementation of LED’s on the brush head, as Tineco’s solution does a far superior job at lighting up the floor during use and spotting dust and dirt. CONCLUSIONS The Shark Vertex is a unique approach to everyday vacuum selection. Shark has spent a great deal of effort studying the market and designed a product that strays from the norm, in both good ways and in some, not so much. While the Shark doesn’t quite of the natural, ease of use, feel as a stick vacuum for basic, day to day messes and cleaning, it does offer a much greater selection for cleaning options. The detachable motor assembly puts the Shark in a league all by itself. While stick vacuums can be multi-purpose machines, the excel in basic floor care. The Shark not only does great at floor care, but the ability to separate the motor assembly and turn it into a canister vacuum is a truly novel approach and makes the Shark far more versatile than ANY cordless stick vacuum. I would never have thought about cleaning ceiling fans and shutters with a stick vacuum, the Shark makes it a no-brainer. One thing that does remain in this vacuum, as it does other products, is Shark’s magic self-cleaning brush rolls. I’m not sure how they do it, but I still don’t have a single hair wrapped around the rolls in the Shark. This can’t be said for any other vacuum in my house. How they figured out that bit of magic is great. In the end, this is a product that should be on your list of options for those wanting a cordless vacuum. While it doesn’t do everything perfectly, it creates a unique niche that others either can’t or haven’t. This is one product that achieves the ability to do more than its competitors’ products.

5 Battery XBAT300 is compatible w/ small adjustment
Posted by Erik Roberts on Sep 19th 2024
Good Vacuum. Very lightweight. I am writing this review to inform people looking to buy a SPARE BATTERY. XBAT350, the model battery Shark says is compatible with this vacuum is out of stock on the Shark website. XBAT300, which is in stock, is the exact same battery, and uses the same charger. The only difference is the older XBAT300 does not have a little hole on the bottom, which prevents it from being fully sat into this cordless vertex lift-away vacuum. This can be remedied by drilling a small hole through the plastic on the bottom as seen in the pictures. This makes the XBAT300 battery work with this vacuum. Shark customer service was no help when I contacted them to see if this was possible.

5 great vacuum and smooth action
Posted by Jacqueline Tate on Sep 17th 2024
I've had this for exactly a week now and been using it almost every day. So far it's been great. I ordered this directly from Best Buy and had it shipped to my house. It came in a larger outer brown shipping box, Which is good because when I placed the order it said it would ship in its original manufacturing box, which has happened before. Needless to say, the box arrived in perfect new condition. The vacuum and its parts were all nicely packed and separated. Assembly was idiot-proof easy. Everything felt of high quality and all the parts fitted smoothly and perfectly as it should. As per the instruction, I completely charged the battery before first use. The vacuum is not quiet, yet it's not loud either. It's very tolerable. The head moves smoothly like it's on roller balls. The weight distribution is not bad at all. You can slightly feel the weight of the vacuum as you maneuver it around, but it's nothing like those top heavy vacuums with the canister by the handle. This is THE MAIN reason why I bought this vacuum. I had a Black & Decker cordless before with the canister at the top and you can definitely feel it in the wrist. I've also used my parents Dyson with the canister on the top and you can also feel it in the wrist. This Shark vacuum is not like that , at all. It is very comfortable and even after using it for 10-15 minutes I don't feel anything in my wrist. The suction is good and picks up all the crumbs left by my 3 y/o. haha. I never had to go over the same spot twice. I have only 3 issues with this vacuum. I really don't want to call them issues as they're really not anything negative. But, firstly, I wish the LED lights were a little brighter and facing the ground better. As it is, the lights are slightly pointed up and don't really illuminate the floor directly in front of the vacuum as it should. It kinda shoots the light about a few inches away from the head. So you're basically looking forward of the unit to see where the crumbs, etc are rather than directly in front of the head. Secondly, there's no place to store the attachments. Mines are all on the ground by the charger. I wish this came with a stand to attach all the pieces. Hopefully Shark makes one. And lastly, on my unit, the thing always fires up on 2nd Power. Every time I turn it on I have to down press the power one. I don't know why it doesn't remember the last setting it was on. All in all, I'm definitely happy with this vacuum thus far. It is definitely well built and you can feel the quality. Not to mention, it looks nice too! I recommend this and would buy it again if I had to.
