Love it so far. It's quiet and the food cooks really fast. Not in love with the door lock feature but I think it just takes some getting used to

    Sharp Microwave

Posted by Nicole Richards on Oct 6th 2024

The microwave works as advertised. Sharp's customer service is hard to deal with. A rubber foot was missing from 1 corner. They made me jump through so many hoops it was like they wanted me to give up on getting it replaced.

    Going on 3rd replacement

Posted by Ryan Hall on Oct 2nd 2024

If i could rate this at 0 or negative stars… i would. I got my first one of this model and after 3 days of having it… it stopped turning, it lit up and counted down (sometimes) and did not heat anything at all. Got my replacement from them and from the get go… all it didnwas light up, count down anf turn. I had a cup of water in a pyrex measuring cup in it for ten minutes straight… still cold. Their customer service at sharp is trash- got a drunk representative slurring every other word, could not identify any details on my account and kept going with a tiny bit of progress, backing up to look something up and getting lost, not remembering what she was doing. Asked for a manager, she went to look for one and came back to say she was a manager, then she was going to look for one… then got disconnected after 5 minutes of silence. I called back to restart the process and their only suggestion is to be ok, just recieving a THIRD microwave. I dont want to deal with sharp anymore and wished i didnt ever purchase this piece of trash. Now i have two large boxes in my garage because one rep says to dispose of them and another says to send them in.

Best Buy bad, Sharp microwaves decent to good

Posted by Heather Summers on Sep 25th 2024

First about Best Buy, they lowered the price $20 less than 3 weeks after we purchased it. They would not accept a return nor a refund (14-day period from purchase for us poor folk) for the $20 just a mere 18 days after purchase. In a day of age where almost everyone has a 30-90 day return/price match policy, Best Buy's 14 day period is disgraceful. Especially when I've been many thousands per year in the past, just not this past year. Those other retailers don't require thousands spent per year for a simple 30 day policy. Go figure. There's a reason why my Best Buy purchases plummeted once they enacted this new policy. As far as the microwave goes, we had a Sharp Carousel that we bought at another retailer that lasted almost 20 years. Had sensor reheat, was 1200 watts, was fantastic. It finally died so we wanted to look for another Sharp 1200 watt model with sensor reheat. We finally found it in this one. Best Buy being the only showstopper with its price, we just had to get another due to the longevity of the previous Sharp model. This one has been great so far (haven't had a ton of use out of it yet) but there is one issue we've noticed that brings it down to "average". This one has "sensor reheat" options just like our old one, including generic dishes as well as popcorn. I know popcorn bags warn against using the "popcorn button" on a microwave but our old Sharp model was perfect. We would hit the sensor reheat button for popcorn, the screen would flash as it waits for the popcorn to stop popping every 1-2 seconds, then it would show a 10 second timer. All (or most) kernels popped and none scorched. This Sharp model (as close to identical as we could get) has a popcorn sensor reheat. But when we select it, it just simply throws up a timer. That's it. No "sensoring" at all. Even though the button is labeled as "sensor reheat popcorn" there is no sensor involved. It just always puts up the same time, even when selecting different sized ounces of popcorn bags. Different times for each bag but absolutely no sensor is involved. It's just a pre-set timer. What I wouldn't give to have our old microwave back that actually had a sensor reheat option for the popcorn in which it could "sense" when the popcorn was pretty much done, no matter what size it was. Very disappointing from Sharp. I could just put in a time on the microwave and get better results than their "sensor reheat popcorn" button on this new model. As far as I can tell, the rest of the cold dishes we've put in the microwave have come out 8/10 when using the sensor reheat "general" button. Still, our old Sharp was 10/10 on the sensor reheat for everything. Just wanted to point out the flaws if you wanted this for sensor reheating of popcorn. It doesn't exist. Even though it's under the section of "sensor reheat" on the microwave itself, there is absolutely no sensor being used. It just pops up a number, the same number, every single time for whatever size your popcorn bag is. And if your popcorn bag isn't in their 3 sizes? Tough luck. Figure it out yourself. They have, in the sensor reheat section mind you, 1.75oz, 3oz, and another larger one. Our ACT II bags are 2.75oz. We tried 1.75oz and had a handful of uncooked kernels. We tried 3oz and had some burnt popcorn. We compared the two times since it only goes by time, not by a sensor of any kind, and averaged them out. Got decent popcorn. But then, what's the point of the sensor reheat popcorn button? Anyway, 1.5 stars off for the popcorn sensor reheat not using a sensor of any kind at all. And .5 stars off for Best Buy being the company is has become in the past year or two. Losing all of my business from this point on.
