    I hate it.

My Yummly broke after a few years and a new one wasn't available so I tried this one. It has two spikes seemed like a winner. The app is clumsy and irritating. I want it to burn. Apple should make Thermometer! It be over priced for sure but elegant no doubt. Untapped market...anything with wifi that can interact nicely with my phone. :)

    Great meat thermometer!

Posted by Nicholas Kelley on Oct 2nd 2024

The Twin TempSpike is a well thought out meat and ambient thermometer, or thermometers really! You get 2 probes, an amazing little charging carry case that is also magnetic! So thoughtful! There’s an app that you can download onto your phone, links rights into the thermometer so you can monitor the temperature. It’s super simple and easy to use. Being able to measure ambient temperature is pretty cool, but of course I’m mostly going to use it at thanksgiving and any other time I am cooking a big chunk of meat. I really like the compact design, it’s a sleek little case that did take a couple hours to get all charged up, it was dead on arrival but once it was plugged in I could see it was charging. It has a backlight that you can turn on and off and the little instruction manual is actually readable. I will appreciate having this tool for cooking as guessing whether meat is hot enough inside is not really something I want to do. There were no issues with first usage, everything was synced and worked perfectly. This is a great meat thermometer that is easy to use out of the box.

    Cooking With Bluetooth!

Posted by Patrick Hernandez on Sep 20th 2024

Modern conveniences sometimes cause us to ask, “How did I ever live without one of these?”. We’ve had mechanical meat thermometers for years: stick the thermometer into the meat and look inside the stove for an exact reading of the internal temperature, so that you will know the meat is fully cooked. Most cooking instructions provide very general guidelines for the length of time to cook, but almost all will specify that you are to cook X hours/minutes for a piece of meat, “…or until the internal temperature is XXX degrees”. In preparing meat, cooking to the proper internal temperature not only ensures the meat will taste better because it is fully cooked, but is also kills any pathogens, such as salmonella, that can cause sickness in humans. So, why this product? How about extreme convenience? It comes with two ¼ inch diameter probes that are about five inches in length. You stick the probe fully into the meat. In my case, I was cooking two pork tenderloins in my stove. You are advised to be sure to stick the probe completely into the meat so that only the handle on the end is visible. In my case, I had two one-pound tenderloins, and I used one probe for each. On a larger cut of meat, such as a roast or ham, you might want to use the two probes in different locations on the meat, to make sure that the entire cut has reached the proper temperature. Now the fun part. The two probes come in a convenient charging case. A USB-C to USB-A cable is furnished, and you can use virtually any charger, and after only a few minutes, I was able to get the probes to a full charge. There is an indicator on the charging device to indicate the charge level. Make sure Bluetooth is turned on in your phone settings. Download the app onto your iPhone or Android device, pair the charger, and you are ready to cook! You set an internal temperature for each probe, and, when the temperature is reached, an alarm goes off on your smartphone. That’s it! You don’t even have to crack the stove until you are ready to remove the cooked meat! During cooking, the provided software provides both the internal temperature of the meat, as well as the ambient temperature inside the stove in real time, and the Bluetooth range is said to be up to five hundred feet! I was sitting outside having a drink when the alarm went off. It is that easy. The probes can also be used on an outside grill. Even though it is not mentioned in the instructions, the device also comes with a small wire brush. I assume such a brush would be handy for cleaning hard to reach parts of the grill grate. I did not see an immediate use for using it to clean the probes. They were very easy to clean off and wipe clean after cooking. After use, the probes are stored in the charger which also serves as an attractive and useful protective case. I had one glitch on my first cooking experience with these spikes. The internal temperature sensor went off far too early on one of the probes. I pulled the meat out of the stove and looked at the piece that had the early reporting probe. I found that I had accidentally inserted the probe all the way through the tenderloin so that it pierced the meat and came out the other side. The instructions advise that the meat must fully encase the probe, so I reinserted it so that it did not protrude, and all was well. I highly recommend this product, and wonder how I ever lived without it!

    Thermos Twin Spikes

First time using the wireless temp probes. For the most part, they worked and worked fast. One thing, I found the ambient temp took time to get up to the actual temp…May need to just read if this is normal

    Novice griller review

Posted by Marvin Perez on Sep 11th 2024

First, I don’t consider myself much of a Griller. My past experiences have always led to frustrations of either over or under cooking my chicken or steak meats. I purchased the ThermoPro twin TempSpike on implulse when it was advertised on BestBuy’s Deal of the Day offering recently. I’ve seen advertisements of this product on social media months ago and thought I’d give it a try. My past methods of cooking and temperature monitoring was use of the traditional analog thermometer probe which always ended up being inconsistent whether the meat was cooked properly or not … I am looking forward to using the ThermoPro TempSpike to up my backyard grilling game! I like the fact that it is wireless and that there is an external temperature display feature versus having solely to use my phone to monitor my cooking progress.
