4 Great product under specific situations
Posted by Beth Wilson on Dec 12th 2024
This portable unit is a very unique product that does indeed provide refrigerated quality air and with a switch turn to heating. It is very pricy so keep in mind that sometimes it really is just too hot outside so it might feel like it’s not working.

5 Portable cooling and heating
Posted by Elizabeth Nguyen on Dec 5th 2024
The Torras Coolify can help you stay a little more comfortable on those cold and hot days! This is my first experience with this type of device and must say it’s pretty impressive. The device comes with a USB-C charge cable and a nice robust carrying case with a loop to carry it. The device itself weighs just over a pound and feels really solid and well made. Operating the device you have two buttons on the bottom to turn it on and off and one to change the modes . On each side you have small display screens that show the battery life on one and fan speed/temp on the other. Connecting the device with the app and controlling it thru your phone though is the best way to use it. With the app, it allows more control of the device and more speed settings. When controlling the fan speed with the buttons on the device, you have 30,60 or 100. When using the app you can adjust it in increments of 10 from 0 to 100. You also have the ability to have different zones on instead of all and you also could have heating on the back and cooling on the side and vice verse if you so desire. When I initially got the device I thought it only did cooling, I was surprised to see it did heating also. When using the heating function it doesn’t use the fans it only uses the heating elements on the area that touches your neck. Using it for a 2 mile walk on breezy day in the low 50s, the device took that little bit of chill off that I would normally have had without. Battery life is pretty impressive also as for my 2 mile walk, it only dropped 20% when using the heating function at 40%. Using the cooling function you get cool and fan, cool doesn’t blow ice cold air, but I can see it definitely making grass cutting and other outdoor chores a little more bearable this summer. If you’re looking for something that will keep you a little more cool in the summer or warm in the winter the Coolify can do just that.

3 It works but not for me
Posted by John Smith on Nov 30th 2024
It blows air at an ok rate, the device gets cool to the ac function works. The app works as well. But i have long hair and the back of it gets hot as an ac unit would but because of that it makes my hair hot so i get this icy hot result (if that makes sense) did not have it long enough to test it in other seasons other than the summer heat in texas I get heat exhaustion easy and this did help with that a bit due to the device being cold on my neck. But needed to keep a battery pack with me to make it last longer which for some neck fans isnt possible. Doesnt blow enough for outside heat but does better than most. Didnt use the app to control it as much as i thought i would and never didnt have it on full blast unless using it as a white noise machine so the extra features you pay extra for didnt get used rnough for me to justify keeping it.

5 Great product
Posted by John Li on Nov 24th 2024
I use this for 10 days in Florida in June/July at the amusement parks. Works on high for hour and half. Keeps you very cool in normal hot days. In very hot days it’s keeps you from being miserable. I used INIU Portable Charger, Smallest 22.5W 10000mAh Power Bank to charge the air conditioner during the day. It took about an 1 and 1/2 hour to charge to 100%. I could also use the air conditioner while I charge it. Love the app, was very easy to use and no fees. I was very surprised how great this product worked.

5 It really works!
Posted by Jason Duncan on Nov 22nd 2024
When I first heard of this product, I was skeptical. My body does not function well in heat and I am prone to heat exhaustion. So any chance of making it better for me was worth taking. It is very easy to use. Charge it up with the enclosed type C charging cable and download the app and you are ready to go. It does work without the app but the app makes it easier to control. Without the app you have to find the 2 control buttons and push them to the desired setting. It was hard to use the buttons without removing the device. It has heat and cooling settings. The heat setting is very nice. It relaxes your neck muscles and gives a nice warmth. In a cold office this is handy. The heat is warmth only without the fan. For cooling, the neckband is very cool and you can have the fan on 3 settings or off using the buttons on the device. There is more control function on the app. You also have the option of selecting the fan in the back of the neck, sides of the neck or both. On a hot day it was wonderful and kept me cool. A few things to note … I have a small neck and when bending my neck forward it hits my jawline. My husband has a bigger neck and it worked fine for him. It does get loud on the higher fan settings. The Coolify also weighs a little over a pound. This can strain your neck a bit after wearing it for a while, especially when bending your neck forward. The battery lasted about 4 hours with mixed use of heat, cooling and fan settings. There is a nice storage case included. The warranty is only 180 days.

3 Too heavy and awkward for constant use.
Posted by Natalie Howe on Nov 21st 2024
TLDR: The Torras Coolify Cyber is a high-tech solution for a low-tech problem. You can get better results from a cold towel without worrying about damaging or losing a complicated cooler. If you are looking for something for house, this could be your answer, for outside use, I’d look elsewhere. The Torras Coolify Cyber consists of a peltier cooler housed inside a plastic neck band. The neck band contains everything needed for the cooler to operate; battery, vents, peltier cooler, buttons, and display. The neck band flexes slightly at the shoulders and in the back to fit nearly any neck. The Coolify is easily controlled via the Torras Life app. This app installed without issue on both my iPad and my Galaxy phone. This is one of the few apps that seemed to work perfectly out of the box without hiccups or glitches. Torras should be commended for time well spent on the app. Having a peltier heat exchanger built-in, Torras advertises a cooling difference of approximately 20 degrees Celsius. I would say this is a best-case scenario. As things have warmed up considerably here in the south, the Torras provided a much more noticeable temperature difference the warmer it was outside. Having 3 distinct cooling zones is quite nice. The user can choose to have cold air blown up and down in the front of the neck, up from the back and down from the back. Each zone is independently adjustable. A welcome and very nice feature. BATTERY LIFE The Coolify supports 20W fast charging. Reaching from 0 to 80% in approximately 1.5hours, according to Torras marketing. I’m assuming to preserve battery longevity, it slows charging down considerably after 80%, reaching full charge in a little over 2 hours. But, what about battery life during use? Well, that all depends on how many zones you have on and at what cooling setting. Full on with all zones blowing, I only saw a little over 1.5 hours of battery life. Torras claims up to six hours of battery life and I think it could muster it, but only at limited settings. Using it at what I would consider normal use speeds and cooling, I can muster a good 3 – 4 hours. NEGATIVES The biggest draw of this device is its novelty. It does its intended job, but while it does it, it also becomes quite heavy. I found myself wanting it off my neck after 2 hours, at best. While it starts off feeling cool and refreshing, after I get cooled down the Torras just becomes a nuisance. After a couple of hours, it just gets annoying and heavy. I honestly never thought I would have any issues with the Torras. I wear a motorcycle helmet for hours on end without much thought, but there is just something different about the Torras. I know Torras has done an admiral job slimming and trimming the Coolify from the previous generation, but it quite honestly isn’t much lighter than my full-faced motorcycle helmet. Having that weight resting on one spot around my neck and on my shoulders gets irritating after a while. FINAL THOUGHTS Like I stated earlier, I see this as a high-tech solution for a low-tech problem. Torras’ website shows people playing sports in their Coolifys like it is nothing. Tennis, hiking, etc. I just don’t see it. One, the Coolify is too heavy and awkward for competitive sports. Sudden movements and directional changes jar it around and out of its ideal and comfortable position. Two, you can get relief from buying a cold towel and dipping it in water or ice water. Cooling results from a cold towel are much faster, more refreshing, and I can easily play sports in a towel that weighs next to nothing versus a weighty neck band. If my towel comes flying off during sports, no biggie. If my Coolify comes flying off, well, that is a different story. If I worked from home or in an office environment that was warmer than my ideal temperature, I could see this being a viable solution. No one would want a cold towel draped around them while working on a PC or while sitting at an office desk getting their shirt and collars wet. In this environment, I could see the Coolify Cyber being a solution. It works much better than just having a fan blowing ambient air on you to keep cool. Plus, you would have easy access to a charger, keeping the Torras topped off throughout the day. Unfortunately, I have the give the Torras Coolify Cyber a NOT RECOMMENDED. I think there is a limited target audience for the device, but as a whole, I just don’t see the benefit for a vast majority of the people.

4 Wasn't sure what I expected, but it's awesome!
Posted by Robert Williams on Nov 20th 2024
Like the title says, I wasn't really sure what to expect from the Torras COOLiFY, but I was pleasantly surprised by what I found. I often help our friends who have a farm in the Central Valley of California and spending the day in the sun there can get quite hot. I've purchased all kinds of gaiters, shirts, hats, and fans to help keep cool (including two electric fan units that are similar in design to the COOLiFY but a lot flimsier). I saw the COOLiFY and thought that this might just be the thing because it also has a heater! The problem with the Central Valley and being outdoors is that in addition to being really hot in the full on sun, it is also pretty cold in the early and late hours as well. I haven't been working up on their farm since getting this but I have done some work around my yard and The COOLiFY was almost everything I had hoped. Right from the get-go I knew I was in for something special upon opening the box. I definitely wasn't expecting my neck warmer/cooler to come with a really nice case like some high end headphones! Upon opening the case I was further surprised by the styling of the COOLiFY; it looks cool (HA! See what I did there?) and stylishly designed, well, as stylish as an electric neck A/C unit can look. They also have heft and a solid build. That last part leads to my only real complaint about the COOLiFY, its weight. The first thing I did upon turning the COOLiFY on was to connect it to its iPhone app (yup, another app), which makes it easy to change settings without fumbling for small-ish buttons. I noticed that the device was delivered with 68% battery so I plugged it in to fully charge it. It took about an hour and twenty to get that last 32%. The problem with a big battery is that it also takes longer to charge. That first day I started in the early afternoon with some trimming and weed-pulling in the sun. I used the COOLiFY with both its active cooling pads and the fans. I was amazed at how fast the active 'chill' pads got REALLY cold! Of course, the fans provide some immediate relief but you won't be waiting long until you feel like you have a really nice icepack on your shoulders. I started it up at about a 60% setting but quickly bumped that up to about 75% via the app. Checking the battery after ten minutes showed a 10% drop in battery capacity. By that loose math, we get about an hour and thirty minutes of run time, which isn't bad for a device running at such a high level, but it will not get you through an afternoon of work. Of course, if you are using just the fans themselves or dialing back on the full cooling level, you will get a much longer run time. For the next version, it would be awesome to have swappable batteries. Oh, and I forgot that you will need this on the OUTSIDE of any garment you are wearing because this thing needs the airflow. If you are wearing a poncho of some sort, it won't like the air supply and you won't getting any cooling flow. When I was out the next morning, I kicked off the device on 'heat' mode and after a minute, was pleasantly warmed by the device. Will it replace a nice sweatshirt or coat? No, but it can definitely take the edge off if it is particularly cold or you're slightly underdressed. Since this is a radiative heat from the panels on the inside of the COOLiFY, you can also keep this under a coat to help retain the heat without worrying about having good airflow. I checked the battery level after ten minutes of use and it had used 5% of the battery, so heat is a bit more energy efficient. So, back to the weight issue. I didn't think it was a problem as to how it felt resting on my shoulders, since that isn't that bad but as to its inertia. If you are sitting at work or watching a game, the inertia issue won't be a problem, but if you are physically working and leaning around and getting up or down, it will. Leaning forward, more of the weight is borne by your neck and not your shoulders. Moving to the sides or back runs the risk of it flying or sliding off. I would be aghast at this thing falling off of my neck onto the ground because of the other problem with the COOiFY, its price. I personally think that the COOLiFY price isn't all that bad given the quality and how well it works. Plus, last year I went through two of the cheap-ish ($29) fan neckbands, neither of which had chilling panels, only fans. Those other ones also didn't have as good of a battery, but their lighter weight kept them on my shoulders easier. As long as I don't drop and damage my COOLiFY, I know I will get much greater longevity out of it (both in daily usage and long term condition). One thing I did expect, but did not find on the COOLiFY, was the ability to charge an external device like a phone or headphone. Now, nowhere does Torras say you can do this (so this is NOT their fault but a misconception on my part), but whenever I read something like '6000mAh battery capacity' I always think of portable battery chargers. But that could perhaps be an option for Torras to add to the next version or to this version via a firmware upgrade. All-in-all, I'm pretty happy with the COOLiFY and can't wait to put it to the test starting next month.

5 Perfect for Personal Temperature Control
Posted by Todd Caldwell on Nov 13th 2024
This is my first personal air conditioner and I was eager to try out this Torras COOLiFY Cyber unit. App setup was easy and the Cyber was ready to go after a quick charge and a power button press (not hold). Even though you can control the device directly, I found changing the settings using the app made the user experience the best. I was able to visually change each setting and modify the heat and fan/cooling effects separately for the back and sides of the device. You can even turn the Cyber on and off using the app. I liked how Torras chose to focus on using this device for temperature control and did not focus on other unnecessary options. I was surprised by how fast this wearable air conditioner switched from heating to cooling and back. The fan is pretty quiet at low speeds, but can make it hard to hear past 50%. I can see this being great for use during hot weather, but don’t expect it to perform great in 100-plus degree weather while in the sun. I can imagine this best used for outdoor sporting events while in the shade or a crowded room without air conditioning. While wearing, I noticed the fit was pretty good and it didn’t feel too tight. Even during quick movements, the Cyber stayed in place. Battery life was pretty good at low speeds, but diminished quickly at higher percentages. I was, however, able to charge and use it at the same time. Pros App is perfect Great temperature control Keeps in place Comfortable Cons Hard to hear at higher speeds I would recommend this to help stay cool. I was skeptical about cooling vs fan, but am now a believer.

4 A must have for cooling off!
Posted by Jessica Moore on Nov 11th 2024
The Coolify came nicely packaged and includes a great carrying case to protect the neck cooler and store the charging cord. The controls are fairly straight forward and easy to operate - with modes for fan, cooling and heating. There are also 3 fan speeds which are more than adequate to do the job. The front fan noise is a little loud (but not deafening) on the highest setting, but still fairly quiet to any outsiders and it would be difficult to make a "noiseless" cooling fan. The most impressive thing about this neck cooler is how comfortable it is, and how well it works at cooling and heating. It cools and heats very quickly. I have not yet tested it in the hottest part of the summer, but so far, it feels like it will be perfect for cooling down especially during craft shows (which can get very hot even under a tent). I'm thinking the best way to use this device is to cool down when very hot, rather than wear it consistently, but it probably depends on the activity. The only reason I deducted one star was because I could not connect it to my Moto 5G phone via Bluetooth. I tried resetting, reinstalling the app, using the phone pairing method and the app pairing. I finally gave up. It's not really necessary to operate but would have been convenient. It definitely won't stop me from cooling off this summer! A great device!
