5 Classic But Good
Posted by Emily Campbell on Oct 22nd 2024
Classic design, but plenty of space and shelf adjustability. Lots of options of where to put gallon sized beverages. Does what its supposed to do as far as chilling. The only thing I'd change is the shelves do not go all they way to the back and there is a small gap. We sometimes have packages of things fall to the the shelf below. It is rare, but happens. I like the light in the freezer. The light in the fridge isn't too bright and depending on what you are storing below the light, the lower shelves can be dark. The crisper drawers glide in and out very easily.

4 Satisfied.
Posted by Kimberly Miller on Oct 20th 2024
Very pleased with this purchase. One star off for the poor design of the freezer door shelf. Pretty quiet, but it does make a few soft but very funny noises that give it it's own personality. The light in the freezer section was a big selling point. Difficult to find in other like models. Bright light, glass shelves and clear bins in the main section make for great visability and easy access.

4 Simple but effective
Posted by Stacy Blackwell DDS on Oct 16th 2024
The Whirlpool Refrigerator is a good size for my condo. I am a little disappointed in the shelves which could be a little wider on the sides for ample storage. But overall it’s a good simple appliance.

4 Inefficiency on delivery
Posted by Michael Fleming on Oct 13th 2024
The refrigerator is great. It is spacious and fits perfect in my kitchen matching my Whirlpool dishwasher. Now I just need a oven/stove to complete the look. The reason for 4 stars was the inefficient delivery. Waited almost a month and a half and 4 different delivery dates. Also the handle needed to be put on properly.

4 OK, But Wouldn't Buy Again
Posted by Shelly Thompson on Oct 8th 2024
Dent on the lower front part of the door, I got a fourty dollar coupon to use at Best Buy, I am guessing this is why, no explanation. The lower part of the refrigerator door handle pops out when you open up the door. I don't know how to fix it, I'm waiting for the handle to break off in my hand. The shelves will literally bow under any weight, for instance a bowl of leftovers, you can see the shelving sag. On the up side, there is plenty of space, the door shelves are handy, the freezer has lots of room.

4 Nice refrigerator but missing parts
Posted by Vernon Velasquez on Oct 2nd 2024
I have called Whirlpool 2 times to get the 2 small white caps to cover the 2 metal screws which hold the handles on the freezer and refrigerator doors. They were missing when it was delivered and the wrong parts were sent when I requested them from Whirlpool. Other than this frustrating experience, the refrigerator is quiet, well designed and attractive and we are enjoying it. It has been a pleasure to deal with and I hope they help us to get the missing parts.

1 Extended warranty... You're going to need it
Posted by Laura Livingston on Sep 22nd 2024
The more reviews I read regarding Whirlpool top mount refrigerators, the more I regret buying this refrigerator and not purchasing the extended warranty. We purchased this refrigerator in October 2021 and it was delivered in March 2022, 2 1/2 years later we had to junk it. Whirlpool's 2-5 year limited warranty on sealed systems do not cover top mount refrigerators, only french door bottom mount and side-by-side refrigerators, so disappointing. I will no longer be purchasing Whirlpool appliances or recommending Whirlpool to my friends and family, this also goes for their other brands as well. Issues with this refrigerator started when we noticed temperature changes in the refrigerator section, with everything freezing from milk to meats, and we also noticed the temperature in the freezer section increasing, the ice cream was like a milk shake. Following the troubleshooting guide we adjusted the air control, waited the 24 hours with no change. We adjusted the temperature control, again waited the 24 hours, with only little change in the refrigerator section. After a week things got worse, both sections were warmer than normal, the refrigerator between 40 and 50 degrees (see photos), and the freezer between 20 and 30 degrees (see photos). Scheduled a Whirlpool service call to have a technician take a look at the refrigerator, the tech concluded that it was due to low charge, and most likely a leak in the sealed system. Where the coolant comes into the condenser coil was frozen over and the majority of the coil had no frost (see photos), which is all the tech needed to see to diagnose the issue. The technician estimated that the cost to fix it would be around the price of a new refrigerator. So disappointed.

4 Poor door shelf design.
Posted by Andrea Harris on Sep 9th 2024
As others have pointed out, there is a too wide gap between the door shelf and the side guard. This allows many items to fall through the gap and fall out. We had to buy plastic containers to place on the shelves to hold smaller items. The top location of the light allows the beams to be blocked out by items on the shelves, resulting in shadows on lower shelves.

4 Overpriced
Posted by Angela Miller on Sep 8th 2024
This was purchased to replace a 26 year old Kenmore/Whirlpool top freezer refrigerator. After many hours of shopping across multiple vendor product lines the conclusion reached is NOTHING is made like they used to be. Gone are the split cantilever shelfs, heavy duty crispers, and spacious meat deli draw. All vendors have to gone to full width glass shelves which limits flexibility and reduces storage space. I also looked at side by side models in the same cubic footage size and found them to just be TOO small, most especially the freezer section. They are all made cheaply with as much emphasis on cost cutting as possible. With all of that said I decided on this model because it is the highest tier model in the top freezer lineup, and I liked the large freezer and refrigerator, lighting in both freezer and refrigerator, and thicker heavier duty doors. Overhaul quality is just plain cheaper than it’s siblings of yesteryear! In operation the unit is virtually silent, maintains a 33-35F refrigerator on shut off and -7F freezer with the factory default settings. I find the LED refrigerator lighting too dim for my liking. I added the optional ice maker which works perfectly and knocks out ice every couple of hours. I found no gross manufacturing defects, no leaky gaskets, with an exterior that is finished quit nicely. The interior crispers are cheap plastic as well as the doors shelves. At this price point and another 100 bucks or so for an icemaker suggest the unit is grossly overpriced topping $1200. I just don’t think the plastic door shelves are going to hold up to the rigors of everyday use and honestly at this price point I would expect an upscale interior. So far it seems like it’s a good cold refrigerator that looks nice and while being cheaply made by todays standards Whirlpool has been making refrigerators for long time. I have come to expect years of reliable refrigeration. I have an old 1977 top freezer/frig in my basement 45 years old and it runs like a top! The Kenmore I replaced was 26 years old. I suppose by todays standards if I get 10 years out of this one, that would be something
