    Electric coil cooktop

Posted by David Pena on Nov 9th 2024

I can’t get the one burner switch part for my Kenmmore cooktop which I had it for 30+ years. This is the only product Can replace it. It looks good except it heat so slowly, I have turn to high heat first to get cooking temperature then turn to mid heat,

I have been using my new cooktop about a month now. I have not had any problems at all. It works fine and I cook a lot too. I was a little hesitant about buying because of some negative reviews. I would recommend this cooktop.

    Whirlpool 30" Electric Cooktop-Black

Posted by Jessica Marsh DDS on Oct 10th 2024

So far so good. It looks good, works fine, and I recommend it. The unit was priced right (my opinion) total amount was $361.00 plus tax. I picked it up at the Best Buy in Everett, MA. An employee brought it out to my car. (So that you know it wasn't that heavy it was manageable)

great model, bigger than the older verison so we had to cut the countertop. Electrical connections were easy

So much better than a glass top

Posted by Lori Nelson on Sep 29th 2024

Gladly replaced a smooth top with this one. It does what it needs to do with no fuss and is easy to use and clean. A breeze to install too.

    Not too happy

Posted by Christine Craig on Sep 27th 2024

What are those things in the middle of each eye in my new stove top? I know they really cause problems. I bought new cookware to use and the fry pans will not sit flat on the eyes. I purchased Calphalon so it’s not because I purchased cheap pans the have no weight. I see no purpose for these things and the owners manual doesn’t even mention them. The stovetop cooks well if you can stabilize the pans on the coils. All of the coils heat on my unit unlike some of the other reviews I read. I wish I hadn’t had to replace my other unit but the eyes that I used most kept burning out.

    Works well

Posted by Cory Rojas on Sep 26th 2024

It's not the best cooktop around but it replaced one that died after only a few months. Glass cooktops tend to scratch so we thought coils might be good. They're still working for now, and we hope we can use it for a few more years

    Great for cooking

I've used both electric coil and electric smooth top cooktops each for over 10 years. The biggest advantage of the smooth tops: they are easy to clean and they often have better safety features. The electric coils are better for just about everything else. They heat up faster. With this it took me just over 4 minutes to boil a pot of water; with two different smooth tops each with higher wattage ratings it took me over 6 minutes to boil a pot of water. We found it so much easier to cook when we replaced a smooth top with this. They are easier to maintain. If a burner fails I can replace it within minutes with a part costing less than $40; if a burner on a smooth top fails I need to remove the whole unit, open it up, replace the burner costing $40 to $100, then replace the foam tape which costs at least $40. I am replacing smooth top that cracked because a bottle of oil fell over and cracked the top. The cost to replace just the broken glass would have been more expensive than this simple cooktop. I'm rating this 4 stars not 5 because one of the burners flared out the first time I turned it on high. I'm replacing it with the same model. Oh, yeah, the smooth tops look pretty. If you want to have a fancy looking kitchen to impress your guests you can't use electric coils.
