5 No Frills Grills
Posted by Christopher Moore on Dec 8th 2024
Have used this twice (once for pork and once for beef). Probes were accurate and easy to use/read. Have no complaints and expect these to last for a while. Not much more to say, its a meat thermometer, that does its job and does it well.

5 Smart Cooking
Posted by Nina Thompson on Nov 30th 2024
I have used many probe thermometers before but all were wired and after a summer of bbq'ing the wires would get charred and pinched from the cover and begin to fail. This ThermoPro Twin TempSpike fixes all those problems. No wires, no fuss, just insert the probes, grab a beverage and let the ThermaPro do all the work. When you first get the ThermoPro Twin TempSpike give it a full charge with the included usb cord. You will notice the case it comes in is plastic but when lifting it you will notice it has some heft to it. The booster case is not cheaply made but has kind of a cheap plastic look to it. The probes themselves are very sturdy. There won't be any flexing of the probe as you insert them into your meat. The probes are about 3 inches long with a line at about 2 1/2" that must be covered up by the meat so as not to damage the probe. Once your unit is charged, download the app with the easy to follow QR code in the user manual. The app allows you to follow the cooking progress of your meat, set internal and ambient temps and customize your own cooking instructions for different types of meat. There a preset internal temp guidelines for different types of meat. Once you click your meat profile you can then choose the doneness of your meat from rare to well done. The alarm will sound on you phone when the internal temp meets the doneness you set. The setting I like most is the pre alarm. Set it from 5 to 15 degrees before the desired temp and you will then know that it's time to get your side dishes ready and get the table set. I do wish there was a setting to let you know when to flip you meat. Of course you have a constant reminder right in your hand where you can see the internal temp on your phone but a nice little beef halfway through cooking would have been nice. The app has many other convenient settings and alarms. You can also customize the alarm sounds. The default one is kind of an ear piercing continuous beep so I was happy to see I could set the sound to something a little more peaceful. If you don't want to carry your phone around the booster where the probes are stored also has a LED screen where you can see the internal and ambient temps of your cook. It's nice because it magnetic so you can just attach it to a non hot surface of your BBQ and see the temps as you cook. It also has an alarm which notifies you when the internal temp has been reached. I didn't need to test the 500ft bluetooth range because I will probably never be that far from my BBQ but was impressed that the unit stayed connected to my phone all around my house and backyard. As far as I have seen the ThermoPro Twin TempSpike has cooked my meat to perfection. I like my steaks on the med rare side and my wife medium well, so having the twin probes that can be set to different temps is a winner for us.

5 No more overcooked food
Posted by Gary Warren on Nov 18th 2024
Food safety is a must in our house, but all too often that can lead to food being over cooked to err on the side of caution. These wireless temperature probes fix all that and led to some of the juiciest chicken breasts I've had in age. The charging case feels heavy duty enough that unless you abuse it, it likely will not break. The probes fit securely inside and the magnet in the underside of the case holds well to my grill while the rubber feet keep it from scratching the paint. I love that they went USB-C for charging instead of a proprietary cable. The only complaint about the case is there is no QR code for downloading the app on the device itself. You'll have to dig that one out of the manual or search for it in your app store, which I highly recommend you do. The probes themselves are easy to use. The hardest part was peeling the instructional sticker off of each probe. After that, a click wash and then an insertion into the chicken and I was ready to go. In the app, I set my meat to poultry and it set the rest of the parameters for me. You can also add custom profiles should you choose. If you're using the app, you can also see the ambient temperature outside the meat. This is useful if you smoke meat and want to be alerted if your temperature goes to high or to low. You can also chart your temps if you get into the really specialized stuff or maybe if you're running a commercial kitchen that requires logging. The alarm letting you know you've reached your temp is dependent on your phone, but mine was definitely loud enough. I initially thought my smoke alarm had gone off, so be prepared on the first use. Afterwards cleanup was quick and easy with a wash cloth and some soapy water and back in the case to be charged up. If you do any sort of grilling or baking of meat, this is a must have.

5 No wires to detangle or tame!
Posted by William White on Nov 16th 2024
Knowing what your internal temps of your proteins is key to having successful cooks. This wireless via Bluetooth temperature probe takes the guess work out of perfection. I have a Fireboard temperature monitoring system for my meats but the wires are a pain to tame. The wireless probes are a game changer. The Bluetooth works flawlessly with the phone app. The storage box that houses the probes not only charges the probes but also acts as a Bluetooth broadcaster to your phone with very impressive distances. My smoker is on my deck and I can maintain Bluetooth connection throughout my 3,500 sqft house. The main box also has a readout on it so you don’t need a phone to see the temps. You can use this without a phone but it really shines with the phone app because you can set temp alarms and also track your progress with their charts. The probe is 2 stage with the first stage measuring IT and the 2nd for ambient temps. You do have to insert the probe 2.5” into your meat so this won’t work well for smaller cuts of meat. The girth of the probe is also very large so keep that in mind if your cut is thin or don’t want a gaping hole through your finished cook. Overall, you get a lot of bang for the buck on these wireless probes. Battery life on the probes in one my tests exceeded 24 hours so smoking large briskets will not be an issue. Accuracy also matches my Fireboard and Thermapen for both cold and hot. Very pleased and will recommend these twin tempspikes for smoking, grilling or pan frying your meats!

5 One of the best.
Posted by Matthew Lee on Nov 6th 2024
So far after 4 times of use, ill say its one of the best wireless thermometer. While not perfect it works very well. Havent had an issue other than one time qhere the probes suddenly disconnected from the app but the charger/base still shows temp and ambient temp so you can just take the base around with you. The range is quite long. Not quite 500ft cause things will reduce the range like walls and furnitures, but im good as long as i can take it to my livingroom and its still connected. I bought two more to gift for christmas to my friends.

5 So helpful to cook meat to the perfect temp
Posted by Kenneth Smith on Oct 31st 2024
Included- 2 probes with booster, USB-C charging cable, cleaning brush, Quick Start Guide To get started, you will need to fully charge the booster and probes with the included USB-C charging cable. There is a LCD display that will show you the charging status and level energy for each probe and the booster individually. W hile it's charging, download the Tempspike app onto your smart device. After everything is fully charged, you need to connect the booster to the probe and then your booster to your smart device via bluetooth. When you want to use the probe while you're cooking, insert one or both probes into the meat. It needs to be inserted dep enough so that the notch on the probe is completely covered by the meat. On the app, set your desired temp or you can choose what type of meat you're cooking and the doneness you want. After the meat is cooked and the temp is reached, then an alarm will sound from the app and/or booster. I love having the ThermoPro Twin TempSpike set. It's so easy to set and forget it. I don't have to constantly open the oven and let all the heat out of the oven and take multiple readings. I can either relax and let the ThermoPro do all the work or I can concentrate on making the rest of the meal and not worry about the meat. It's honestly great for any at home cook, whatever skill level you're at. It will easy to make your roasts, steaks, chops, any meat perfectly. I cook every day and I'm excited to have this great kitchen tool.

5 High quality meat thermometer, without the wires
Posted by Dr. Nicholas Wise on Oct 26th 2024
The ThermPro TempSpike is a really nice meat thermometer, though there are things that could be better. I've been using Bluetooth thermometers for the past 5 years with my smoker. This one is much easier to use since the Bluetooth radio is built into the probe instead of connecting it via a cable. Not having cables sticking out of your smoker, grill, or oven makes it so much easier. One minor issue I had was that the probes and booster (base) came very low on battery charge. Not a big deal, but if you bought it to use right away, that wasn't going to happen. Not sure if that is how they ship all of them or mine just drained prior to me using it. Like I said, not a big deal. First thing you need to do is download the app for iPhone or Android. I have an Apple device so I will be reviewing the iOS version. Pairing the device to the phone worked right away...just open the app (ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone) and press the S button on the booster. In the app, click the Add Device and select your product name. That's it...no issues. The instructions say that the probes are paired with the booster at the factory, but they do tell you how to re-do it if you have any issues there. Mine were already paired when I got it. When you are ready to use it.you select the type of meat you are cooking in the app (do that for each probe) or set a custom temperature you want to get to. In the app, you can select whether you want the alarm to sound and if you want vibration alerts as well. Each probe also tracks the ambient temperature, so you can select a low or high ambient temp you want it to alarm on. Insert the probe past the notch into the meat. This was one of the lessons learned I had. I pushed the probe past the notch as indicated, but not far enough. When the meat started to shrink back a little, the notch was exposed and the temperature alarmed way too early. I guessed the issue and pushed it further into the meat and the temp went back down to the internal meat temp. I frequently smoke multiple cuts of meat at a time, which is where the first opportunity for improvement comes in. This device is limited to the two probes (one white and one black). It would be nice to get a version with 4-6 probes like many of the Bluetooth thermometers available. Overall, I really like this product and look forward to using it again. It was easy to setup and straight-forward to use. I would recommend this for anyone that wants to track temperatures while cooking.

5 Great Wireless Cooking Probes
Posted by Jennifer Miller on Oct 23rd 2024
I have actually have several wired and wireless temperature probes to assist me in cooking, all with good to mixed results. I wanted to give the ThermPro a shot to see if it proved to be a better experience. These are truly wireless and leverage Bluetooth 5.2 and a 500ft Range. They come with two color coded (Black and White) probes. These are like others on the market. You have a line on the probe where you insert up to that point and not beyond. You try to get into the thickest part of the meat. The probes are sturdy. They charged in the booster, and I used one of my high wattage bricks for my phone to plug into so they seemed to charge very quickly. The feel and quality of all the parts seem very solid, I was also impressed with the magnetic backing of the booster, it was convenient to attach it to the side shelf of the grill while I cooked. It has a display as well, in addition to using the app. I wanted to give this thing a challenge on its first cook, so I had some bone in chicken breasts. I normally love to just do a little oil, salt and pepper on my chicken on the grill and get it about 75% done, then bring it inside and put into a covered dish in the oven with bbq sauce and a bit of water to help finish the cook and steam it, to keep it very moist. What I really liked about these probes was the accuracy of them. For example, in the pics, you will see that I had one obviously larger breast and one smaller breast. I did my best to keep the probe into the center of the thickest part of the meat. Since one was larger, the smaller one clearly had less meat between it and the grill, and I knew this meant that the smaller breast would cook faster. The Twin Temp was amazing, it was a perfect monitor for my temps. Chicken is also a bit forgiving so I could let the one breast stay on the grill while I waited for the bigger one to get closer to when I moved them to the oven. I just moved the smaller breast to a cooler part of the grill. Once inside, I left the probes in, put into the casserole dish, and added bbq sauce and a bit of water. I had set the cooking temp to 210 and even when the smaller one’s probe alarm went off, I left it in there, like I said, chicken is forgiving. Now….my only initial thing I didn’t like but I was able to fix it. I was inside when the temp alarm went off on the smaller breast probe. The default alarm sound on these probes is probably the loudest and most annoying sound ever! My poor 10-year-old Chocolate lab jumped up, freaked out and started shaking! She does the same thing if the smoke alarm makes a beep..lol. I quickly went into the app and thankfully you can select many different sounds, most all of which are better than the default. You have been warned. Overall, I really like this. Time will tell with these devices. At this point, it’s my go to temp probe. I hope they last better than other brands. I have another brand with 4 probes and one of them has just quit working all together and one is flaky, I am hoping over time these are consistent. Right now, they are awesome, and I would recommend them.
