4 Works great / pricey
Posted by Larry Coleman on Nov 3rd 2024
My previous experience with another Tineco vacuum/floor cleaner was very positive. Tineco uses a lot of lightweight plastic in their vacuums and floor cleaners. That makes it very easy to operate the appliances. And so far, they hold up well. The Switch 7 is an impressive cleaning system. It’s like Christmas in a box, you just keep finding more. I like that they include an extra roller and filter. The charging base and vacuum stand could be better designed. The charging base is sturdy and the vacuum stand is too lightweight. I wish they had combined them into one unit. Included in the box: •

3 washes and vacuums wish charge base was better
Posted by Jody Patel on Nov 2nd 2024
Packaging for the floor washer (fw) and vacuum was neat and minimal. The box was huge and a tad heavy, not a lot of waste. The box contained the fw , vacuum, charging base, base for the vacuum that attaches to the main base, and a few bits and bobs as attachments. The directions for the two vacuums are lacking, they need improving for clarity. It would be great if it was clear on how to charge the stick vacuum, unless I missed it somewhere it was not clear that the battery needed to be switched between the fw and the stick vacuum. The stick vacuum has a tube on it where you switch it out with the battery. Not sure why they did not include a tube that is not useful in this instance if the main battery needs to be switched out between the two. It would be nice if the charging base had a way to charge both vacuums together on the same base, at this price point it would only make sense. The base only holds the stick vacuum. The base is simple enough to attach the fw and stick base together but the stick vacuum base feels flimsy. Each bit and bob has its own home to place everything in. The base does take up a bit of space as it's wide. When placing the fw on the base it does alert that its charging and reminds you to empty and clean the vacuum. The stick vacuum on its own without the battery is very light but when adding the battery it adds a bit of heft to it. It has only two modes eco and max which is all that is really needed. Eco mode does the job and extends the life of the battery. Movement is agile while vacuuming and allows for ease of getting around corners. The wheels could be better but are not terrible. The fw is heavier but has better wheels which allows for the fw to move forward and backwards on its own by propelling itself a bit. It has a voice feature on the vacuum which is super useful and the fw will detect if it has sufficient water and will detect if there isn't and tells you its insufficient and powers itself off to avoid damage to the fw. The digital display on the battery is great! It's large and easy to read from a distance. The fw has more options for cleaning modes, custom, max, or suction or auto. I’ve found that the auto mode is the best option for our use case. Both the fw and stick vacuum do great at its assigned task and are pretty durable. Few minor things that could be improved to make it worth it.

4 Great Floor Washer Vacuum Combo
Posted by Megan Parker on Oct 29th 2024
As a pet owner (cat dad), I’m always on the lookout for ways to keep my home cleaner without having to break my back. When I first came across the Tineco Floor Washer Switch Pet Cordless Mop Vacuum Cleaner (7 Series), it immediately caught my eye with its sleek design and promise of tackling both vacuuming and mopping in one go. I was very intrigued and wanted to test it. After using it for about a week and half, here’s my honest take on this cleaner. First Impressions & Setup: Right out of the box, I was impressed by the sleek, modern design. I like how it looks minimalistic and the black color finish gives it a premium feel. I must admit. Assembling it was a tad tricky. The instructions weren’t as clear as I hoped, and it took me longer than expected to put it all together. I was very determined to make it work, but it was definitely frustrating. Once I got past that hurdle, though, everything clicked into place, and the unit felt sturdy and well-built. The cleaner feels solid in your hands, not too bulky or heavy. The handle is ergonomic and comfortable to grip, making it easy to maneuver around tight spaces. Overall, once assembled, it has a good balance between feeling durable and light enough to carry around the house. I like how I was able to use this on floors and tile. It worked equally well and transitioned nicely. I wish the water tank was a little larger, but I realize this isn’t intended for fully mopping your floors. It’s more of a “let’s do the surface area your pet might have just went number 1 or 2 on.” As mentioned on the instructions, not meant for carpets. So it might be a deal breaker for those that own carpets and need to spot clean it. Plenty of good products out there for that. Pros: Cordless Convenience – I love the cordless feature! Excellent for Pet Hair Dual-Action Cleaning – Being able to mop and vacuum simultaneously. Battery Life Self-Cleaning Feature Lightweight & Easy to maneuver Multi-Surface Performance Quiet Operation Cons: Challenging Assembly Small Water Tank Not for Carpets Damp Floors Post-Cleaning Overall: The Tineco Floor Washer Switch Pet Cordless Mop Vacuum Cleaner is a solid investment, especially for pet owners. Its sleek design, dual functionality, and overall ease of use make it a standout in the world of floor cleaners. While the initial assembly could be easier, and the water tank size could be a bit larger, these are minor setbacks compared to the convenience it offers. If you’re looking for a cleaner that tackles both vacuuming and mopping in one go, this might just be the perfect fit for you. It’s a bit of an investment, but the time and effort it saves are well worth it!

4 Powerful floor washer and stick vacuum combo
Posted by Brenda Johnson on Oct 26th 2024
The Tineco Switch Pet 7 Floor Washer and Vacuum Cleaner set is a powerful set of cleaning tools. The Tineco Switch Pet 7's electronics dynamically change the suction when using the floor washer or dry vacuum. You can use eco and max modes. The unit's voice says the unit is "Charging" when you put the floor washer on its dock. A battery power indicator is on top of the battery/motor cylinder. Unboxing: The Tineco (pronounced tin' c?) Switch Pet 7 setup comes neatly packaged using purpose-built, fitted, recyclable inserts in a box with no wasted space. The box is large and heavy with a carrying handle and contains lots of parts. The floor washer and dry vacuum are beautifully engineered, and you can assemble them intuitively and quickly. Parts are designed so that you can assemble them only one way. Tineco supplies a bottle of cleaning solution, an extra HEPA filter, an extra brush roller, and a "bottle brush" cleaning tool. I am handy and can put most things together just by looking at the parts. I assembled both units and had two items that required research. First, what to do with the clear tray? This tray that sits on the wet mop dock to catch drips. Second, how to charge the stick vacuum, since there is no power to the stick vacuum's side dock that attaches to the floor washer dock. Tineco supplies only one motor and battery that you switch between the floor washer and stick vacuum—thus the name "Switch" for this wet/dry tool set. Pros: Both the floor washer and dry stick vacuum are cordless. Controls are conveniently located at and near the top of the handle. Both are relatively quiet during normal operations. The stick vacuum converts to a handheld unit and has a powered mini brush roller and a crevice tool with a retractable brush. Voice commands alert you when the unit is charging, and guide you through the self-cleaning process. You can change the language of the voice commands. The floor washer is self-propelled and takes a few minutes to get used to. Rather than using a back and forth motion as you would with a dry vacuum, guide the unit in straight lines, or a rectangular cleaning pattern to get the most out of its self-propelled feature. The Tineco floor washer moves along quickly and is efficient, using little water. You can run it in automatic mode or press a button for maximum power. It picked up plenty of dog hair, human hair, and grit from floors that were washed a few days earlier. The self-cleaning cycle is handy. Make sure to empty the dirty water tank and leave adequate solution in the cleaning solution tank for this self cleaning process. You might be surprised just how much hair, grit and grime come off the brush roller. The Tineco vacuum cleaner automatically adjusts suction to the surface being vacuumed. The vacuum head is light and is easy to move, though it does not track straight on short pile rugs or hard floors, because most of the unit's weight is near the top. The vacuum's powered brush head worked well for cleaning pet hair off my furniture and for cleaning carpets in my vehicles. I needed the crevice tool with the retractable brush to get into in tight places in my vehicles and into crevices between furniture cushions. The vacuum picked up plenty of dust, dirt, and pet hair and the dustbin was easy to empty. Cons: The floor washer and the stick vacuum share a motor and battery. The clear cylinder that comes with the stick vacuum is just for show, when the motor and battery are attached to the floor washer. You must charge the battery with the floor washer in its dock. The floor washer worked in straight lines most of the time on my natural stone floors, but slid on the smoother, porcelain tiles. Its traction could be better. The battery may not hold a charge long enough to vacuum a large house and wash the floors, too. Such a pricey tool set should come with two motors, to allow whole-house cleaning with plenty of power. The benefit would be power to spare. The floor washer is heavy; this might be a concern when lifting the machine on and off its charging dock. Only Tineco cleaning solution is recommended, and it is costly. The cleaning cycle takes several minutes and can get loud. Some people might be intimidated by the technology associated with this product.

4 Excellent machines for hard floors
Posted by Amber Carroll on Oct 17th 2024
I live in a medium sized house that is 99.9 percent hard floor with one small sized area carpet in the living room. I also own a German shepherd dog that sheds a ton of hair daily. The Tineco 7 Series Floor Washer Switch Pet Cordless Mop and Vacuum Cleaner is a two-piece system consisting of a mop cleaner and a traditional vacuum cleaner only for hard floors. They come with a docking mechanism that charges the battery. It has transformed the way I clean my hard floors especially with the mop cleaner. Both cleaners are well built with ergonomic handles that feel comfortable in your hand and a modern look. They run on a battery pack that is the brain of the system, and can be switched between the two. Attached to the battery, a great looking digital display that is well lit and provides useful settings information. it also has a voice prompt for alerts and settings status. it comes with an app with a solid user interface and it connects to your wifi. The mop function is outstanding, effortlessly removing my pet hair and all other dirt, leaving my floors sparkling clean and streak-free with every trials. Despite a bit of heft, the cordless design provides excellent maneuverability, making it easy to navigate around obstacles and tight corners. A cleaning and deodorizing solution is provided in the package to be mixed with the water in the water tank. The manufacturer only recommends this solution to be used. Many different settings are offered but I find the auto settings to perform really well. The vacuum cleaner, on the other hand, is much lighter than its mop companion and is even more maneuverable. It comes with two additional tools that can be fitted when detached from the long tube. This one only has two settings: Eco or Max. The dust bin is on the small size and fills up quickly. I was impressed with the good suction and its ability to remove some fine cleaning powder that sticks to the hard floor. My only gripe with this cleaner is that it is strictly for hard floors. I have a small area rug that I cannot clean with either machines. However, both the mop and vacuum operate significantly quieter than all the vacuum cleaners I've owned, which is a major advantage for me and the rest of my household. The battery life is a moderate disappointment with the mop cleaner. On a full charge, after cleaning the whole house , which is not very big, the charge would drop under 50%. I believe this can be inconvenient for larger homes or more extensive cleaning sessions. I've encountered issues with the wifi connection after a few days. It's been difficult to reconnect and without the connection, the app is useless. Despite these minor drawbacks, the Tineco Floor Washer Switch Pet has become an important tool in my house cleaning arsenal. The exceptional mopping capabilities and quiet operation outweigh its limitations. For anyone looking for a versatile cleaning tool that excels on hard floors, I would recommend giving the Tineco a try.

5 one package: hard floors to carpets, very clean
Posted by Cheryl French on Oct 13th 2024
We have a smallish house, and only an occupancy of 3 (one of which is a dog), so we never thought a dedicated power floor washer would be a necessity. We had remodeled a couple of years ago, and replaced the downstairs carpeting with hardwood flooring, so carpet shampooing needs have been greatly curtailed. The opportunity to trial a one product cleans all was compelling however. The designation of Switch refers to the fact that the battery/power unit for the included two machines can be easily switched from one to the other. The units assembled easily from the packing box, parts clicking into place without needing much guidance. The floor washer is the workhouse of the two: for hard surfaces it vacuums, then washes, and then sucks up the wash water for disposal. The other unit is a dedicated vacuum only, and you switch the battery and motor from one to the other, quite easily. Charging only occurs when the floor washer unit is in its stand. The vacuum has a separate space on the stand, but does not charge if the battery is mounted on the vacuum in the stand. My personal experiences with our cordless vacuums has been quite positive. We have disposed of our upright and canister vacuums since acquiring cordless units (not Tineco) about 10 years ago. The first cordless vacuum is still in the house, and still used regularly, but has been demoted to the basement, with newer and more versatile models in the main house. We had a brief sojourn with a robot vacuum/mop unit, but were rather underwhelmed by the results. The water reservoir was quite tiny, and the unit was rather underpowered in suction of the damp mopping in comparison to the Tineco. That unit was passed on to one of our children, and they use it mostly for the vacuum option. With an expanse of hardwood floors, spots that would be sort of disguised by the carpeting are much more visible, especially in the kitchen area where food prep and cleanup exerts a toll, aided by gravity. And just vacuuming helps, but nothing can surpass a real mopping with water. The greatest satisfaction occurs when you see the rather filthy water that the Tineco is sucking up as you proceed across the floor. Rather than sharing the dirty water across the surface, since as soon as you first rinse the mop head, each time the water you’re putting down is dirtier than the time before. The Tineco sprays water mixed with Tineco cleaning solution (available from Tineco or BestBuy by the quart). Then with power roller brush scrubs the surface, and the vacuum sucks the spent, dirty water off the roller as you go. The dirty water is visibly stored in a separate reservoir, so you can see when it needs emptying, but also is gratifying to view how dirty the water is that came from your floor. The other game changer with the Tinenco is that you do not have to first vacuum prior to mopping; the unit does that first step for you. Cutting out that extra time chore from the equation translates into less hesitation about actually mopping the floor. The end result is a much cleaner floor in high traffic areas more often. The downsides are few. The Tineco floorwasher is heavier than the vacuum, mostly due to the weight of the wash water and dirty water reservoirs. Yet it is rather easy to maneuver around, and gets surprisingly close to walls, corners, and other barriers. It rolls with a power assist to the wheels, so you do not have to forcibly scrub the floor, which would become fatiguing. We were concerned about the guidance that Tineco stated in their instructions to use it on “sealed” hardwood. Our flooring was “pre-sealed” at the factory, with the installers laying it down without a final urethane sealing process. The Floorwasher does not seem to really have the water sitting on the floor for any measurable length of time where the water with seep into the junctions between adjacent planks of the wood. The battery status is prominently displayed on the top of the power unit, so you can keep track of when you need to recharge. We found that the battery lasted easily for the entire wash process, although if you have a large area you might need to recharge along the way, or consider a second battery/motor unit for backup. The online Tineco accessories page did not have a replacement battery/motor listed, so the price for such is unclear to me. Eventually all lithium batteries need replacement, and it could be pricey if you had to purchase a new motor in the combined unit. The second unit, a cordless vacuum, uses the same battery/power canister. It swaps out easily between the two, taking only a few seconds to do so. The vacuum came with a plastic cylinder as a place holder where the battery/motor is mounted. The instructions that came with the unit, however, were a bit obtuse in how and where the motor was mounted to the vacuum, and it was not pictured in the owner brochure. It had me stymied for a while on how to power the vacuum, until I looked at the picture on the shipping box, which was more illustrious than the owner manual, and solved the mystery. The vacuum unit is MUCH quieter than our other cordless vacuums which would trigger a “high noise alert” on my smart watch, suggesting that I should be using ear protection for the decibels I was getting. The vacuum comes with a HEPA filter so the dust is not recirculated, and a replacement is included in the carton for the future. The Tineco vacuum has two power settings, and the “high” setting is about as quiet as the lowest setting of the other brand we already own. However, the cost of the relative silence is less forceful suction. The Tineco is fine for touch ups, but left some debris behind, especially on surfaces like the entry way floor mat where more detritus gets worked into the surface. The vacuum of the Floorwasher unit seemed to pick up better than the dedicated vacuum unit, although this was not a quantitative measurement, just an impression of what I was noticing. The Floorwasher will verbally announce various requests and hints along the way (and you can choose among languages!). Although most of the pronouncements were obvious, it can give you a clue as to what is happening. For instance, when your battery will need charging: the “10% remaining” on the top of the battery module was obvious, but the confirmation of “needs charging” was confirmatory. Quite useful was the self cleaning mode after a floor wash session that will get to all the inner workings, so you don’t have to. The roller bar will clean itself and do a flash self dry session. Manually rinsing out the dirty water tank is easily done. My “acid test” of the unit was the basement floor, which has an epoxy paint sealant, which we applied ourselves when we moved into to this house about 15 years ago. Periodic floor cleaning, aided by having the a utility sink in the basement, was still quite a chore that was avoided. The Floorwasher proved to make the project almost enjoyable, from the quality of the results. The clean water tank holds 0.85 liters, so under a quart. The dirty tank is a bit smaller at 0.72 liters. An expanse such as a basement would take multiple fillings/emptying cycles. But the emptying the dirty tank and filling the clean tank I worked into the rearranging the stuff that occupies the basement, so I was cleaning only a section at a time. The results were quite fulfilling, and will make the repeat cleaning in the future much less of a dreaded chore. The clean water tank uses a small amount of a cleaning solution, a starter quantity that comes supplied with the unit. Of course, Tineco recommends that you use their cleaning solution which can be purchased from BestBuy or online from Tineco, among other suppliers. There is a Tineco mobile phone app, but I could not get the app to “find” my device or WiFi. I wasn’t motivated to pursue it further, for there really were not functions that I needed distance control to run for me. In summary, I give the Floorwasher a 5 star, and the vacuum a 4 star (average of 3 on suction and 5 for light and maneuverable). It is definitely a worthy addition to our core appliances

5 Tineco Series 7 PET ~ Love It!
Posted by John Davis on Sep 18th 2024
I had no idea what to expect when I ordered this setup but I am so happy I did. It arrived in a huge heavy box and after unpacking I laid all the pieces on my dining room table to be sure complete. Read through the manual and figured out how to get it assembled. Tineco gives you an extra filter and roller for the mop feature as well as a long handled brush to get down inside the dirty water tank and clear away hair, debris. Also included was a bottle of their cleaning solution which is the only brand they recommend using. The stick vacuum part has a mini power head and crevice too that sits on an attachment which fits on the side of the mop charging station. I then proceeded to charge it overnight. When I was ready to start I placed one capful of their cleaner in the fresh water and filled it to the MAX line. Then as the machine was at 100% battery life I started in. The default setting is AUTO which I kept it on most of the time except for a couple stubborn areas where I hit the MAX. I must admit I thought my floors were pretty clean but I couldn't believe how much extra dirt this was sucking up! I did have to refill the clean water once when she announced it was empty and then emptied the dirty water. There was a lot of cat fur and some of my long hair in the dirty water tank. Honestly I found cleaning that gunk out sort of gross but once it was done everything was fine again. I do want to mention that is why I clean using my own vacuum previous to mopping which removes most all the debris and just makes it easier to pour out the dirty water and rinse. After my floors were done I placed it on the charging base and she announced the mop roller needed cleaning. What an awesome feature! After about 7 minutes or so I felt the roller and it was dry! Be ready to hear some noise while it's in that mode but worth it to have a fresh roller for the next mop job. After my cleaning I still had 28% battery life left but that was only using the mop and not their vacuum. Now here is the part I'm not too crazy about. When you want to use the Tineco stick vacuum you must remove the battery from the mop and place it on the stick version. I wasn't super pleased with how the stick picked up things but it sure wasn't the worst one I've ever used. I accidentally kept hitting the switch under the handle and shutting the vacuum off. If Tineco would provide 2 battery packs ~ one for each ~ it would certainly be much better. If you use their stick vacuum before doing the mopping by the time you're ready to mop you need to recharge the battery and wait. But as mentioned, I use my other cordless vacuum so have no issues. I am rating this beauty 5 stars because the mop vacuum is outstanding! I finally feel like my hard flooring is really clean and I'm very impressed! Its self-propelled movement helps so much too, especially since I have a bad shoulder. It glides along perfectly ~ forward and backwards. The digital readouts and vocal suggestions helps you to know what needs to be done. Highly recommend this Tineco! I really love mine and can't figure how I managed without it now!!

4 Impressive at cleaning; not a lightweight handheld
Posted by Michelle Tucker on Sep 17th 2024
This is basically two separate products bundled together, with the caveat that they share a motor/battery that you move between the two. One unit is designed to mop hard floors with a wet-vac technique. The other is a dry vacuum that works well on carpet or hard flooring, along with upholstery and hard-to-reach messes you might want to suck up. My only complaint is that compared to other handheld vacuums, this one is bulky and quite heavy. The equipment is also a bit complicated, so there was a learning curve to setting it up and operating it. +1 excellent at cleaning. +1 powerful suction. +1 impressive power for a battery tool. +1 well-constructed, pieces snap together and apart easily and securely. -1 complicated—read the instructions. -1 takes up a lot of space in storage. -1 heavier than most stick vacs and handheld vacs. CLEANING Tineco has created a system that cleans very well. I have seen some impressive vacuums and wet-dry products in the past, and this will hold its own compared to any of them. The vacuum unit has great suction, especially for a battery-powered device. But even more functional than that is the way the brushes work. Both the large floor brush and the smaller furniture brush are built in a way that is very effective at picking up dirt, lint, and hair. Plus I’ve yet to see any hair get stuck around the rollers. The hard floor washer is also very effective. It is able to pick up any kind of spill, mud, or grime on my wood floors. There’s a motor assist in the wheels that makes it practically move itself around the floors. It has some kind of sensor that automatically adds more liquid if there’s a lot of dirt, and turns up the suction as needed. It barely leaves any water on the floor, so it usually dries in less than a minute. I have sometimes had dirty water drip out of the unit after I turn it off and I’m carrying it to the charging station, but not a lot. My favorite feature is the self-cleaning and drying function built into the charging dock. When in the dock, the floor washer’s mop roller is surrounded by a plastic tray that keeps any liquid or dirt on the roller from making a mess. And I can simply press a button and it will clean and dry the roller automatically, using the vacuum motor as well as heating and ventilation in the dock itself. Unlike other similar tools, this system is not able to wash carpet or upholstery with the wet vac. The wet system only works on hard floors. BATTERY AND CHARGING The battery and motor are built into the same housing which they call the SwitchPro Motor. It easily clicks in and out of either the vacuum or the floor mop. When it’s installed in the floor mop and the floor mop is on the dock, the battery will charge. It takes roughly 5 hours to fully charge the battery. A full charge will provide between 30 and 60 ish minutes of use, depending on what mode you use. MULTI-CONE ASSEMBLY REMOVAL TOOL This is a complicated system with lots of parts. One part is the Multi-cone Assembly Removal Tool. I had to read the user manual a few times to figure out what this even is. It looks very much like the SwitchPro Motor, except it doesn’t have a battery or motor. Initially, it looks like it simply takes up space and looks nice when installed on whichever device the SwitchPro Motor is not installed on. For example, out of the box and in the first Product Images online, the Multi-cone Assembly Removal Tool is with the vacuum tool. So you have to actually take off this empty plastic cylinder in order to install the SwitchPro Motor and actually use the thing. But, don’t be fooled. The Multi-cone Assembly Removal Tool is not just for show. It’s also designed with a wrench-like part that is used to remove a filter inside the vacuum’s dustbin so you can clean it. So you’ll want to keep the Multi-cone Assembly Removal Tool around. EASE OF USE This system is bulky. Expect to dedicate several square feet of floor space to store both cleaners and all the pieces on the charging dock. Of course any vacuum is going to take up space, but remember that this is essentially two separate devices. They both store neatly and thoughtfully on the stand, but it still takes up a lot of space. This is not a lightweight stick vacuum. The floor mop weighs almost 12 lbs (not including water or cleaning solution). The vacuum is 6 lb 12 oz. Even in its smallest handheld configuration (with crevice tool) the vacuum is well over 4 lbs. I’ve got reasonably strong arms, but I feel like this is a two-handed kind of tool, not something you can just casually pick up and flick around to grab stray hairs or cobwebs in corners. The battery can only be charged when it is installed in the floor mop. That means that any time I want to use the vacuum, I have to move the battery/motor unit from the floor mop to the vacuum. When I’m done, I have to move it back to the floor mop to recharge it. On the one hand, this is a pain because I usually tend to reach for the vacuum first and would only use the floor mop occasionally. On the other hand, since the floor mop is so easy to use and effective, I might end up spending more time cleaning with the mop instead of just the vacuum. In fact, for everyday dirt and mud tracked onto the hard floors, the mop keeps things clean with no need to vacuum at all. APP This system comes with an app, and I’m not sure why. The user manual says, “All the functions can be performed using the Tineco app.” But, of course, the one function that I’m most interested in, cleaning my floors, requires that I actually walk over to the device itself. It’s a very nice app, but I think I’d be just as happy using the floor washer and vacuum without it. Besides, adding network connectivity to the vacuum also adds an additional potential attack surface for hackers.

5 Fantastic!!!! This is a MUST HAVE machine!
Posted by Nathan Grant on Sep 5th 2024
Right off the top, this dynamic duo for cleaning (and I DO mean CLEANING!) your floors is FANTASTIC! My wife and are both seniors and once we got this out of the box, assembled (very easy!) and charged up my wife took it for a spin cleaning the tile floor in first floor of our home. She used only tepid/cool tap water (hot water is NOT to be used in the Tineco!) and the return (after cleaning use) tank was black with dirt that had been washed away using, again, only water. The floor washer is light and easy to handle. It actually pulls itself slowly forward and is very easy to control including pulling it back to facilitate redirecting the machine. It usually takes about 4 hours to do the downstairs area which includes the entryway, dining room and kitchen areas. The initial cleaning took only 45 minutes and again, the return tank required several refills as it was filled with the results of the Tineco's excellent work. The "mop" is so easy to use and as I said, we are both older and have arthritis in our wrists and my wife told me how easy the Tineco was on her arms. She was easily able to control it with either hand and even allowed me to use it and I must say she was right! As it goes along the floor doing its job, a pleasant aspect of that job when compared to old fashioned mopping is the the floor is almost completely dry within minutes of passing over each section! No marking off the downstairs as "Off Limits" due to a wet floor. When you are done, you are D O N E!! This makes the prospect of using the Tineco more often to keep your floor(s) clean even more of a pleasure. Once we were done, the stone tile floor in our home had a "sheen of clean", if you will! Then it was decided to see if the floor in the kitchen was holding onto some hidden dirt. After recharging the Tineco the kitchen floor was once again give the once over and even more filth was removed and the return tank was black with the results of the Tineco's cleaning efforts! There was a LOT of pet hair from our fuzzball of a Pomeranian and the cleaning system removed it from the floors and transferred it along with the rest of the dirt and grime to the waste tank. Proof that this machine really does its job better than anything we have ever tried! The cleaner solution that comes with it doesn't say if it is safe for stone tile so my wife immediately ordered the appropriate Tineco cleaning solution and the next day we cleaned up again. This final cleaning was the BEST yet and the floor really shines now. It looks great and we know it is really clean! Both the Tineco mop and vacuum have a light on the front of the device that aids in seeing where you're at and the display on the top of the battery pack (in auto mode) keeps you informed of the levels of dirt you are encountering as you clean. It also "verbally" alerts you when you are done to be certain to clean the unit, especially the return tank so as not to leave it filled with dirty water overnight or longer. This is a great feature that we appreciated as sometimes when you get done cleaning you just want to walk away but if you do not take good care of your equipment, ultimately it won't be able to take care of you. Cleaning it is fast, easy and over before you know it. Fantastic! The battery is easily moved from the mop to the vacuum cleaner and the cleaning head on that also has a bright forward facing light that is another standout feature of the Tineco. Both vacuum and mop heads on both units are light to the touch and very easy to maneuver and this is made even easier due to both units being cordless. The battery has lasted between 45 minutes to an hour which is excellent and one imagines that time limit may improve as the floors are kept cleaner by more frequent use and we do not feel as though we need to make more than one pass. The physical effort required to clean your home is drastically reduced for us and that is a blessing as before we would be exhausted from all the hand mopping and drying, let alone vacuuming. We have a robot vacuum that is the primary floor cleaner but the Tineco Stick Vacuum that comes as part of this 1 - 2 cleaning punch is perfect for quick jobs as well as our stairway! Again, it is light, easy to use and the forward facing light on the cleaning head makes doing a great job even easier! And having a cordless stick vacuum to clean your staircase is fantastic! All in all, this is without a doubt a life changer for us. The mop unit is not only easy to use, it is much faster overall than hand mopping and the vacuum unit is equally easy to use and makes cleaning the staircase so much easier for us! Highly recommended? YES!!!!
